It May Not Make Sense
Memorise: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. – Isaiah 55:8
Read: 2 Kings 4:1-7 (KJV)
1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.
Bible in One Year: Exodus 20-21, Isaiah 65:13-25
MESSAGE:
Total obedience remains a major key to unlocking the doors of signs and wonders. In our Bible reading, when the man of God gave some instructions to the widow whose sons were about to be taken into slavery, she had every right to call them stupid instructions. He told her to go and borrow empty vessels from her neighbours. With the human understanding, one cannot see the relationship between borrowing empty containers and the money she needed. Also, she was asked to pour the oil in her little bottle into large containers. How can a small bottle of oil fill up one large container, not to mention several containers? That is exactly the point. Blessed are those who will not argue with God. If you ask about my greatest secret, it is simply that I do not argue with God. He has asked me to do many things that the rational mind with call “foolish”, and yet I never argue. Why? I discovered a long time ago that my brain is too little to understand this great God. The Bible in 1 Corinthians 1:27 says,
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”
Many years ago, when God asked me to go to the current site of the Redemption Camp, which was still a dense bush then, I did not argue. I could have advanced several reasons for not going. I could have said it was the operational base of armed robbers, or that it was very far from Lagos, or that there was no electricity or water supply there. Back then, we needed a place where a lot of people could converge for our convention. By the grace of God, I did not argue. Today, the result is there for all to see. If you can be “foolish” enough to obey God completely, you will definitely become a candidate for signs and wonders. Many of the divine instructions that produce outstanding results do not make sense. It did make sense when an axe-head fell into the river and the servant of God sank a piece of wood into the river to make the axe-head float (2 Kings 6:1-7). It did not make sense when a single march of four helpless and hopeless lepers towards the enemy’s camp became the thunderous hustling of thousands of chariots and horses, thereby chasing away the forces that had besieged Samaria (2 Kings 7:1-7). It does not make sense when you are in need and God instructs you to give Him or His servant the last you have on you (1 Kings 17:10-14). It may not make sense to you, but it does to Him. The sooner you accept His “foolish” instructions the better for you. If you have to wait until it makes sense, then the miracle might be delayed indefinitely.
Key Point: God’s mode of operation may sound foolish, but it always gets the desired results.

His Grace is Sufficient
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Our God is a good God; he’s a compassionate and a merciful God. Who gives strength to the weak and give grace to the humble. Do you know in a football team, the better side will always win? Why? Because the better was just better than the opposition, either tactically or defensively, the better side might even be stronger than their opponent. The same rule applies to wrestling and boxing, the strongest is likely to be the winner of the encounter.
There are so many times we underestimate the Grace of God in our lives because we depend and rely so much on our strength, power and ability. Forgetting that our strength can only last for a few minutes and fail us. It is only the Grace of that can last for us forever.
Now what is Grace?
Grace is when a man does a thing that’s beyond his own ability and capacity. Grace is what makes a man attain a level and height he taught he could never reach. Grace is what makes you do things stress free. When there is Grace, the strength and power of a man is totally useless. It turns a very weak vessel into a strong and mighty vessel unto honour.
How is the Grace of God sufficient?
2 Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for thee. That means when you are operating on the level of God’s Grace, you are no more on the ordinary level again, you become an extra ordinary being automatically. You move from the level of mediocrity to the level of higher quality. God’s Grace will make you qualify for what you don’t deserve. God’s Grace never runs dry, because he himself is full of Grace. If you partner with God, you can never run out of his Grace because he’s full of Grace and a man who is full of Grace will always have a reservoir for any man who comes boldly to his throne to ask for Grace.
Who are those God is Looking For?
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
God is not looking for a man that has power, energy or strength. God is not looking for man that’s perfect, God is not looking for those who think they have it all and have what it takes to be qualified. God is not looking for those who rely and believe so much in their own understanding, skills, education, ability and capacity. My friend, do you know who God is looking for? God is looking for those who are weak, those who know by themselves they can do nothing, those who know by themselves that they are nothing, those who have tried it all by their own power and failed, those who have struggle and later realized that they can can’t go any further again. God is looking for the imperfect man so that he can make him perfect. These are the set of people God is looking for.
If you know you are strong enough to make it on your own, well, you can continue with your own strength and power and let those who know by themselves that they can do nothing by their own energy come boldly to his throne.
How do I receive it?
You must come to him empty so that he can fill you. You must come to him as a nonentity so that he can make you a celebrity. You must come to him as nothing so he can make you something. You must come to him in level zero so that he can make you a hero, you must come to him powerless so that he can empower you to the greater exploits.
So what must I do?
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
The Grace of God is sufficient for everybody but is not meant for everybody. If you know you want to continue in sin without a heart of repentance, I’m sorry! You can’t tap from God’s Grace but if you have a heart of repentance today, you can be rest assured that his grace is meant for you.
The Grace of God is for those are ready to surrender to him totally. Those who are ready to let him come into their lives and give them a brand new beginning, the Grace of God is meant for a child of God, if you know you are not aligned with him, or you are still living in sin, you must surrender to him now so that his Grace can be sufficient for you.
