I welcome you to the 2nd edition of CITADEL Magazine and sincerely thank all those who contributed immensely to the success of the 1st edition “the role of Mary in Christian Faith”. It was indeed an interesting one and we hope to keep the flag flying.
Marriage is a union instituted by God so that man and woman could unite and become one (Gen. 2:21-24) It is on this divine gift that the Catechism of the Catholic Church states Matrimony as a covenant by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a whole of life partnership towards their individual good. What this means is that Marriage is the foundation of every Christian family.
Unfortunately, many Christians have lost sight of the real purpose for which God instituted the sacrament of marriage and now engage in acts that are contrary to s*x, ranging from same s*x marriage, homos*xuality, lesbianism and all other forms of s*xual abuses we see in our contemporary age. It is clear however that all these s*xual practices are not from God but devilish. To this end, the scripture warns:
“No man is to have s*xual relations with another man; God hates that” (Lev. 18:22). It further states that “if a man has s*xual relations with another man, they have done a disgusting thing and both shall be put to death” (Lev. 20:13).
Same s*x union is a wrong and an unnatural practice because if it were to be allowed to go on, eventually human species would cease to exist as there wouldn’t be enough children for the species to continue and by implication, human species would be gradually wiped out.
It is to this end that we have chosen the theme “SAME S*X MARRIAGE: A QUAGMIRE TO CHRISTIAN FAMILY” for the second edition of CITADEL Magazine 2014/2015 in order to reawaken in human beings especially the Christian folk the consciousness of who we are – touch-bearers of the gospel of Jesus Christ and as such, the outcome of our lives as Christians should have a close link with that of Jesus Christ.
