🇳🇬 A RESPECTFUL APPEAL TO THE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA AND THE SUPREME COURT 🙏

We respectfully appeal to the Government of Nigeria, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and the relevant authorities to kindly consider our plea concerning the NYSC uniform.

We appeal that the use of NYSC trousers should be made compulsory for all corps members during the period of national service.

This appeal is not made out of disrespect or confrontation. It is a sincere request for the relevant authorities to consider the matter and, where appropriate, review the existing uniform policy.

🇳🇬 To the Government of Nigeria — we respectfully appeal.

⚖️ To the Supreme Court of Nigeria — we respectfully appeal.

🎖️ To NYSC Management — we respectfully appeal.

May our leaders hear this appeal and give it thoughtful consideration.

REASONS WHY NYSC TROUSERS FOR FEMALE CORPS MEMBERS SHOULD NOT BE MADE COMPULSORY

This is not a call for rebellion against NYSC or constituted authority. It is a solemn appeal for conscience, religious conviction, modesty, and respect for God.

🔥 1. LIFE IS UNCERTAIN — ETERNITY IS REAL
Not everyone who enters the NYSC programme comes out alive. Some have died through accidents, illness, in their sleep, or through other unforeseen circumstances.

Hebrews 9:27 says: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

What if someone dies while serving, and stands before God only to discover that something she was compelled to do violated her conscience before Him? Will there be another opportunity to correct it? Will there be a second chance after death?

The Bible says there is judgment after death. Therefore, matters of conscience and eternity should never be treated carelessly.

🔥 2. A CONSCIENCE BEFORE GOD SHOULD NOT BE FORCED
Romans 14:23 says, “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

If a Christian female corps member sincerely believes that wearing trousers is contrary to her faith, compelling her to wear them places her in a painful conflict of conscience.

🔥 3. OBEYING GOD MUST REMAIN PARAMOUNT
Acts 5:29 declares: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Government authority deserves respect, but where a person sincerely believes a requirement conflicts with her duty to God, there should be room for respectful accommodation.

🔥 4. MODESTY IS A BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE
1 Timothy 2:9 teaches women to dress “in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety.”

If a woman believes that a long skirt or another modest alternative better satisfies her Christian conviction, why should she be denied that option when she can still properly perform her national service duties?

🔥 5. GOD SEES BEYOND THE UNIFORM
A uniform may identify a corps member, but it does not determine her eternal destiny.

No uniform is worth forcing a person to violate.
