SUNDAY SERVICE 24TH MAY 2026
Message: Creating Room for the Holy Spirit
Minister: Pst. Levi Odumodu

The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Strengthener, Provider, and Saviour. His voice is still and gentle. Distractions make His voice difficult to hear. Believers must intentionally create room for His abiding presence through spiritual discipline and fellowship with God. Abraham became a friend of God because of his obedience and relationship with God according to James 2:23.

1. Living a Life of Gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:18, Luke 17:11-19, Psalm 92:1-2)
Believers must practice thanksgiving continually instead of complaining. Complaining weakens sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and hinders His voice.

“1 Thessalonians 5:18” declares: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Thanksgiving changes spiritual atmospheres and becomes a weapon during difficult seasons. In “Luke 17:11-19,” Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to give thanks. The thankful Samaritan received complete wholeness.

“Psalm 92:1-2” says: “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.”

2. Complete Surrender (Matthew 16:24, Genesis 12:1-4, Mark 14:35-36)

Believers must surrender their will, emotions, desires, and plans completely to God.
“Matthew 16:24” says: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
Surrender requires leaving personal agendas behind. Abraham demonstrated this in “Genesis 12:1-4” when he left his country and family in obedience to God. Jesus modeled perfect surrender in “Mark 14:35-36” when He prayed: “Not what I will, but what thou wilt.”

DANGERS TO AVOID FOR HEAVEN BOUND CHRISTIANS UNFORGIVENESS

Matt 6:14-15; Mark 11:25; Eph. 4:31-32; Colossians 3:13; Heb. 12:15

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32.

Unforgiveness is a dangerous multifaceted poison that can cause your prayers to hang, destroy relationships, peace, separate believers from the will of God and ultimately make a man end up in hell.

It is the refusal or inability to let go of resentment, bitterness or desire for revenge when being hurt.

THE UNTOLD TRUTH
Pastor Cletus Desmond
General Overseer, Redemption Ministries World Wide

Every major move of God in the Bible began with compassion. Scripture shows this pattern again and again.

• Jesus and the woman at the well. John 4:7–26
• Wine provided at the wedding in Cana. John 2:1–11
• The raising of Lazarus. John 11:33–44
• Blind Bartimaeus receiving sight. Mark 10:46–52
• The man sick for 38 years healed. John 5:5–9
• Manna falling from heaven. Exodus 16:4–15
• Elijah and the widow of Zarephath. 1 Kings 17:8–16

When ministry lacks compassion, the manifestation of God becomes rare. Scripture confirms this truth. Jesus was moved with compassion before He healed and fed the people. Matthew 14:14, Matthew 15:32.
Compassion marks the true elect. Colossians 3:12.
These qualities pass down from our father of blessed memory (Rev.stephen Akinola) appears in Pastor Cletus Desmond through his response to needs, organising banquet for new concerts, his handling of issues, and his steady pursuit of kingdom growth. Matthew 9:36.

The responsibility of a General Overseer goes beyond building, projects or public image. A shepherd leads people to Christ. John 21:15–17.
Ministry must direct hearts toward eternity. Colossians 3:2.
In his message titled “There Is No Bread in the Land, he stressed a vital truth. This world is not our permanent home. Hebrews 13:14.
The land we seek has abundance. John 14:2.

God has shown faithfulness to Redemption Ministries through Pastor Cletus Desmond.

(Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.)

His humility and brokenness reflect biblical leadership. Psalm 51:17, James 4:10.
He shows freedom from material pursuit and quick gratification, observe over the years from his simplicity despite his clegical robe. Matthew 6:19–21.
He declares the Holy Spirit as the owner of the Church. Acts 20:28.
These qualities support sound doctrine and practice. 2 Timothy 4:2.
In recent months, he visited many assemblies on apostolic assignments. Acts 15:36.
This effort shows concern for souls and rural churches. Luke 15:4–7.
The themes of his messages in these places reveal a call to revival and deliverance. Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18.

His leadership also appears in his choice of leaders and practical problem solving. During the Last Wind and Fire Conference, electricity presented challenge, but wisdom led him to disconnecting the headquarters from the national grid and installing an offgrid renewable solar systems for critical equipment with the support from Christian faithful within the ministry, Automated Solar street lighting improved security and reduced cost from the huge electricity bills. Proverbs 24:3–4.

Still as we celebrate his new age, we must pray for him, for our assembly pastors, and for one another who have crossed path in life for the sake of the cross. 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13, Ephesians 6:18.

God bless you all

INTERACTIVE BIBLE STUDY |WEDNESDAY MAY 6, 2026

SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD.
Mark 8:36-38; 2 Cor. 6: 14-17; Heb. 11:35-38.

LOVE NOT the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

Separation from the world, its patterns, principles and practices are core biblical precepts that have become the subject of contention, argument and sometimes stirs sentiments in most Pentecostal churches today. While testimonies abound of men and women who in answer to this separation were tortured, tormented and thrown into the prison with the only appeal from their tormentors to say JESUS IS NOT LORD as a bail condition; yet they chose to suffer persecution as a result of their separation by still maintaining that JESUS IS LORD. A brother or sister in the church today who has not tested persecution for this same Christ whom others where killed should be ready to abide by God’s word.
We all love and cherish where we come from. The pride in my village people, my custom etc must be guided by what the bible says. We are not preaching that you should hate your village or deny it but we are saying that any village system, culture or custom that is not in tandem with the demands of heaven MUST BE DONE AWAY WITH.

Discussion
1. From Mark 4:31-35. What lessons was Jesus passing across to Christians?

2. What does the bible refer to as the world? Rom 12:2, 1 John 2:15-17?

3. What does the bible mean when it says do no love the world. (It means the practice or system, values and way of life that does not align with God’s word. It is not advocating for us to hate our country people but their pattern, principles and practices that do not align with God’s word).

4. Why are Christians called to be separate from the world? (2 Cor. 6:14-17; 1 Peter 1:15-16. God is holy and as believers we must reflect his nature in all we do. This is a unique identity that defined Christianity in the early church. Acts 11:26)

5. Does this call for separation mean we should withdraw from the society and possibly build our own city of Zion on earth as Alexander Dowie did in his days? No. We are called to be in this world as a light but NOT OF IT. In other words we should have control and take charge ACCORDING TO THE GUIDELINES PROVIDED IN THE SCRIPTURES).

6. How do believers easily or subtly compromise with the world today?
• Justifying sin because it is culturally acceptable.
• Seeking approval by men over obedience to God as was the case with Saul
• Adopting ungodly values in the guise of it does not matter even when God has instructed through his Servants. Jer 3:15

7. How can a believer live a separated life from the world in this present world Ps 119:9; Rom 12:1-2;
• Choose godly relationship that influences your belief
• Avoid groups, jesting and joking gatherings that do not promote the cause of heaven. If you are there, you may likely follow them to laugh even when the jest is about the Holy Spirit in the negative light. Under such atmosphere, you will be gambling with your life. Prov 6:27; Rom 1:32.
