RELEASING CHRIST, THE GLORY OF GOD IN YOU. (PART 1).

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

The Glory of God is the outshining or luminous revelation of God's beauty. It is the revelation of Himself. Prophet Isaiah, who was prophesying to men before the cross said: God's glory will be seen upon them (not through them) when The Lord arises upon them (not when He lives in them). So, people before the cross experienced the Glory of God (Christ), but never enjoyed the privilege of Him shining out from within them; unlike we the new testament saints. Moses carried a fading glory, so he had to cover his face with a vail so that the people would not notice his fading glory (2Cor.3:13-18). As believers in Christ, we have received God's Permanent Glory, since Christ, The Glory of God is now resident in our Born again spirits.

The people before the Cross didn't have Christ (The Glory of God) within them because they had fallen short of God's glory due to the sin nature still within them (Rom.3:22-24). Sin, resisted the glory of God from coming into them and shining through them. Jesus Christ came as the Lamb of God to take away the Sin nature in men, through the sacrifice of Himself (John1:29; Heb.9:26). By what Christ has accomplished through His substitutional sacrifice, He has made all believers in Him fit, qualified or suitable to be partakers of our rich inheritance of God's Glory (Colo.1:12).

Christ, who is the Glory of God manifests Himself through us by His: Love, Mercy, Truth, Power, Character Traits (The Friut of The Spirit) etc. So, when Christ lives in you in His fullness, by revelation: You will love as He loves; you will be merciful like Him; You will be full of His truth like Him; you'll manifest God's Power like Him etc. God's confident expectation or hope in the believer's life, is the Glory of God or Jesus Christ manifesting through you.

CONFESSION
Christ, The Glory of God has taken permanent residence in me to manifest Him to my world.

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD (PART4).

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil..... 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 6:18......verse19 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

I observed a consistent pattern in the epistles of the Apostles to the body of Christ (particularly in the Pauline's). They would often begin with greetings, then doctrines; after which instructions for Christian living and then warn us of the reality of an evil world around us, with Satan as our adversary. Paul admonishes us to cast our concerns upon the Lord; who is faithfully committed to our care and preservation. That we should be calm in our minds and be vigilant because we have an adversary - the devil, who prowls about looking for who to devour. We were then commanded to resist him steadfastly in the faith. To effectively do this, we must put on and take up our God given armours.

Today we'll briefly examine the last of the armours, which is an offensive one:
THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT: Since our warfare is spiritual, our offensive weapon is also spiritual; and empowered by God - which is the Word of God. This is not the logos (or letter) of the word, but the Rhema or inspired and revealed word of God, appropriately given to you by the Spirit of God to subdue the enemy. Such inspired words are full of life, powerful, sharper than any two edged sword and have the ability to pe*****te any dimension of existence (Heb.4:12). Isaiah says, when God gives you such inspired word, it has the ability to hit its target and return with expected results (Isa.55:11). According to Paul, such divinely empowered word is able to pull down and cast down mental and spiritual fortresses of the enemy. For the word of God to be effective in your mouth, you must not doubt it in your heart; but believe in its integrity. Jesus Christ wielded it against the devil, when he came to tempt Him. In addition to putting on and taking up all the armours of God, regularly engage in all manner of prayers in the spirit. As you do, you're speaking mysteries to God; who will respond by revealing strategies to you.
CONFESSION
While I cast my cares upon my faithful Father, I remain calm and vigilant. I engage my God given Sword of the Spirit to resist the adversary. In Christ, I always win.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1198/090123

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD. (PART3)

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil...... 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:......verse19.

The true gospel of Christ doesn't only tell believers their blessedness, victory and glorious provisions in Christ. It must keep them aware of their adversary, his devices and how to live on the defensive and on the offensive. In our last two devotionals, we dealt with four of our God given armours; for us to put on and take up. Let's examine another one here:

THE HELMET OF SALVATION
A helmet is a protective piece of armour designed to protect the head; which houses the brain, mind and the heart of the Central Nervous System. Any man that looses any of these vital aspects is rendered useless. Besides, a crushing blow on the head could be deadly. Such blows on believers come in the form of doubts and unbelief. Consequently, the weapons of our warfare against them are not physical. The helmet of salvation protects the believer's mind and heart from doubts and unbelief. The spiritual battle front is not a place for guess work and faint hearted soldiers. A believer most therefore have unshakable confidence and assurance of his salvation. We must be versatile with three aspects of our salvation :
* ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED (PAST) SALVATION. This has to do with our salvation from sin and its penalties; through our faith in Christ. We must have adequate understanding of the subjects: justification, reconciliation, our eternal inheritances etc; as they have to do with us in Christ's finished works (also known as legal aspects).
* PRESENT SALVATION: We must draw confidence and assurance from the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in us. He keeps us being saved from the overbearing influence of sin through our flesh and all around us; such that sin no longer has dominion over us.
* FUTURE SALVATION: Paul calls it THE HOPE OF SALVATION (1Thess.5:8). The writer of Hebrews calls it THE ANCHOR OF THE BELIEVER'S SOUL (Heb.6:17-19). A Soldier of Christ must have an assurance of God's immutable counsel concerning the ultimate redemption of his being. This was why Paul was not afraid to die for the gospel (Phil.1:21). Jesus endured the cross and despised the shame because of the hope He had on the joy that was set before Him. To go to the battle field, you must be assured of your eternal salvation (John10:27-29). Know that: we have a calling that cannot be revoked; an inheritance in Christ that cannot be defiled; a seal that cannot be broken and a life that cannot perish. Alleluia!

CONFESSION
I have been saved from sin and its penalties; I am being saved from sin by the Power of the Holy Spirit and my life after now is secure in Christ.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1197/080123

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD (PART2).

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil...... 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.......verse19

The epistles of the Apostles did not only reveal to the Body of Christ her blessedness and enviable status in Christ. They copiously warned the believer of his enemy within (ie his flesh) and his enemy without (Satan and his hierarchical network of evil gang). They charged us to develop spiritual expertise in putting our unregenerated bodies under; and get our unrenewed minds renewed. The world system (cosmos) we operate in is controlled by Satan; through his demonic cohorts in collaboration with their human agents (the sea of unregenerated men and women - Ephe.2:2-3). Hence, the need for us to be strong in the grace of the Lord; to stand firm and be fully dressed up as people operating in this evil age. This we do, by putting on the whole armour of God to equip us to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Yesterday's devotional emphasized three armours we must be readily dressed with (ie state we must be) as soldiers of Christ. First, we must have our loins girded with the truth: because Satan is the father of lies. We therefore need to embrace the truth which shows us what is right or wrong. Next, put on the breastplate of righteousness. Breastplate protects our vital organs. The righteousness here is not referring to what the Father imputed to us at new birth; but practical holy and upright living. And then firmly shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

The next pieces of armours we must take on and use when the need arise are:
* SHIELD OF FAITH: This involves resting or believing in what God has done for us through the finished works of Christ: to extinguish the fiery temptations and devices of the wicked one. We sin when we believe Satan's lies and do right when we believe God's truth. Believe that God always has the best intentions for you and be satisfied in Him. Adam and Eve fell because they doubted God and believed Satan. Jesus didn't fall for Satan's temptations because He chose to believe God. The Shield of Faith in God will protect us and help us to overcome temptations. (TO BE CONTINUED)
CONFESSION
While seated in the heavenly places in Christ, I refuse to live carelessly in the earthly places.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1196/070123

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD. (PART1)

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand............verse19.

Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians was written to believers who were living as beggars due to the ignorance of their spiritual wealth and exceeding riches in Christ. He begins by letting us know that we're already blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ; and the contents of our riches. He also revealed to the church where we were - dead in sin and under the control of Satan. Then the Father, moved by His mercy and great love for us: quickened us, raised us up and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ. So as believers, we exist in two realms at the same time. In heaven, at the right hand of the Father in Christ (sharing in Christ's victory); and on earth, where we have the responsibility to bring Christ's enemies under His footstool. Just like by using man invented technology, you can be in New York City and preside over your board meeting in Portharcourt City, Nigeria.

After letting us know our exalted spiritual status as a Church with vital instructions; Paul said finally, in this physical realm we also function, we will be confronted with all kinds of trials and unavoidable evil day. They may appear physical in nature but they have spiritual origin. Therefore, we must be strong and stand firm in Christ; by putting on the Whole Armour of God - which is the Word of God. He shows us that God has given His armour to us in six gadgets: the first three are states we must always be; while the last three are gadgets we must pick up and use when the need arises:
FIRST THREE
* WAIST GIRDED WITH THE BELT OF TRUTH: Truth is an absolute standard by which reality is measured; showing you what is right and wrong. It is God's view of a matter. It is the truth that gives the believer the authority to execute his rights. Truth when it is known makes free. Ignorance of the truth keeps men in bo***ge to Satan.
* BREAST PLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. The believer already has God's nature of righteousness, but the knowledge of the truth reinforces that nature to be able to make the right decisions in all situations. This is why Satan fights the truth to make people to keep making wrong decisions; thereby attacking their righteousness.
* FEET SHOD WITH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE. Giving us firm-feet with a readiness to present the good news of Christ that gives salvation and peace. Peace is what keeps you singing in the midst of battles.

CONFESSION
I am seated victoriously in heaven in Christ to establish Christ's victory on earth. I put on the Armour of the Word to succeed in my mission.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1195/060123

HOW TO EXPLORE AND EXPLOIT THE RICH TREASURES OF GOD IN THE YOUR BORN AGAIN SPIRIT: THE FAITH OF CHRIST.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Before new birth, a man's spirit was dead due to his separation from God; on account of the sin of Adam. However, his natural human faith exists in his soul that works through his senses. He must see to believe. On hearing the Gospel of Christ, God imparts His kind of faith or the Faith of Christ for him to believe and become born again. This supernatural faith enables him to believe that God is (Heb.11:6) - without seeing God; that Jesus Christ died for his sins and resurrected for his justification - without haven seen Christ. This can't be his natural faith that says: "seeing is believing". The believer on receiving the supernatural faith believes without seeing (John20:29).

Paul said in Ephe.2:8 that: we're saved by grace through faith. This faith that received the grace of God to obtain salvation for us, didn't come from ourselves; it's the gift of God. At the point of salvation, the spirit was still dead in sin and bankrupt of faith to believe for salvation. God had to supply His kind of faith or the Faith of Christ to believe in Christ and His finished works to be saved. It is by the same faith the just or the believer lives on (Rom.1:17; Gal.3:11). Peter said: all believers have obtained like precious faith as him and the other Apostles through the righteousness of God and our saviour Jesus Christ (2Pet.1:1). It is in agreement with what Paul wrote in Rom.12:3 that: God has dealt to every believer THE MEASURE OF FAITH. So, as a believer, you have the same quality and quantity of faith that Jesus had when He walked this earth; and Peter had, to raise the lame man at the Beautiful Gate (Acts3:1-6).

There is enough faith in your born again spirit to remove any mountain or opposition that comes against you; to overcome any challenge in this world (1John5:4-5) and to do greater works than Christ did on earth (John14:12). To release or put this faith to work for you: you must acknowledge its existence in your spirit (Philem.1:6); learn the principles that make it work for you (Mark11:22-23) and continuously engage in exercises that would renew your mind (Rom.12:2).
CONFESSION
When I heard the Gospel of Christ, God imparted to my spirit with the faith of Christ to believe, live my Christian life and do greater works than Jesus did.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1194/050123

HOW TO EXPLORE AND EXPLOIT THE RICH TREASURES OF GOD IN YOUR BORN AGAIN SPIRIT: THE MIND OF CHRIST.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

A fundamental impact, new birth had on the born again spirit of the believer; making him a brand new man, identical with Christ is: The Gift of the Mind of Christ. John said in the above scripture that: we have received divine grace (unction) from the Holy One that knows all things like God. Apostle Paul reveals in 1Cor.2:9-12 that: what the eyes of the old testament people didn't see; their ears never heard; neither did their hearts (dead spirits) conceive. God has (not will) already revealed them to us by His Spirit; who is able to search the depths of God's mind to enable us know the things of God.

Your born again spirit is created after the likeness of the God that created him: even in knowledge (Colo.3:10). Just as God knows all things, so is the recreated spirit of the born again believer. We cannot know God or the great and precious things He has accomplished and provided for us in Christ with the mind of our human souls. It has to be by tapping into the treasures of God's wisdom and knowledge in our born again spirits. When Jesus asked His disciples "but whom say ye that I am? And Peter answered: "thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God". Jesus told him that this knowledge didn't come from the realm of his flesh; but a privileged revealed knowledge granted to him by the Father (Matt.16:13-17). Peter at that time didn't have a born again spirit (because Jesus had not died and resurrected); but we have a born again spirit with the Mind of Christ to know the things of God.

God's inexhaustible riches in your born again spirit cannot be accessed with your natural human mind. To bring them into physical manifestation, you must acknowledge that you have the mind of Christ (that knows all things) in your born again spirit. You acknowledge by securing adequate understanding and boldly confessing this truth. Engage in renewing your mind to align the thinking of your human soulish mind with the thinking of the mind of Christ in your born again spirit; with the mirror of God's word. Also practice living life in the spirit by always praying in the Holy Ghost.
CONFESSION
My brand new born again spirit that is Christlike in nature and power; also has the mind of Christ to enable me think and operate in God class. I draw counsels from it. I always know what to do.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1193/040122

HOW TO EXPLORE AND EXPLOIT THE RICH TREASURES OF GOD IN YOUR BORN AGAIN SPIRIT.

Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

In Christ Jesus our Lord are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. With Christ now living in the born again spirit of the believer; everything in Christ is in our recreated spirits (John14:20). The mind of Christ in the believer's inner man is therefore loaded with the treasures of heavenly wisdom and knowledge. No wonder Apostle John said: we have received an aunction from the Holy One that enables us to know all things (1John.2:20).

Praying in the Holy Ghost helps us to tap into the treasures of God's wisdom and knowledge deposited in our born again spirits. When you pray in the spirit, it's your born again spirit that is praying (1Cor.14:14). When you speak in tongues, you're not speaking unto men, but into God. No man understands you, but in the spirit, you're speaking mysteries (ie divine truths or wisdom hidden to men). Paul further said in 1Cor.2:7 that: you're speaking forth the hidden wisdom already deposited in your born again spirit.

To be able to decode what the spirit is saying or praying about, you need to pray that you may be able to interpret what your born again spirit is speaking forth (1Cor.14:13). Have you wondered how Paul, even though, was not among the 12 Apostles that walked with Jesus during His earthly ministry; was able to tap into the treasures of God's wisdom and knowledge to unravel the Mysteries of Christ hidden to the Saints and prophets of the old testament? (Ephe.3:5). Their eyes couldn't see them, their ears couldn't hear them, neither were their hearts able to conceive the hidden mysteries of Christ; now revealed to us by the Spirit of God. This informs why Paul said he spoke in tongues more than them all (1Cor.14:18). So, as you speak often in tongues, pray also that you interpret; and no mystery would be too deep for you to comprehend and unravel.
CONFESSION
The Mind of Christ in my born again spirit is the Heavens Central Processing Unit; containing all of heaven's wisdom and knowledge. As I pray and speak in tongues, mysteries are revealed to my understanding, through my born again spirit to give solutions to the problems of life.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1192/030123SET YOURSELF TO LIVE IN GOD'S BEST AS A BELIEVER IN CHRIST (PART 2).Proverbs 10:...
03/01/2023

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1192/030123

SET YOURSELF TO LIVE IN GOD'S BEST AS A BELIEVER IN CHRIST (PART 2).

Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Numbers 23:20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

We have stated in our earlier study that a fundamental secret for living in God's best, is to make a deliberate and determined choice to live in the Blessing of the Lord; rather than always having crises and crying to God or Men to intervene by miracles. While we are not undermining the importance of miraculous interventions, we continue to assert that God doesn't want us to live there. The BLESSING is the spoken favour of God over an individual or a people; that makes him preferred, at advantage and compels things and persons to work together in his favour. The blessing of God is intangible, but produces tangible things like: cars, houses, material possessions etc. They're merely Byproducts of the blessing. God warns us not to put our confidence in then as they're slippery and uncertain. They're subject to fluctuations by satanic forces, Pandemics and natural disasters (Matt.6:19-21).

To walk in the Blessing of the Lord, you must appreciate the power of spoken words. In the beginning, God blessed man and other creatures with words (Gen.1:22,28). Isaac blessed Jacob with spoken words (Gen.27:27-29). The angel that wrestled with Jacob, blessed him with words (Gen.32:24-28). Balak consulted Balaam to curse or speak words that would work against and put Israel at disadvantage, but God told him that it was impossible to curse a people He had blessed (Numb.23:17-21). Blessings and curses are words activated. God's spoken words over us are eternally valid, binding and unchangeable (Plsalm89:34). However, they are activated by us when we give voice to
them or speak them over our lives and those we have authority over (Psalm103:20).

We cannot bless whom or what God has not blessed, neither can we curse he or that which God has not cursed (Lament3:37). Once a blessing has been spoken, it cannot be reversed by any man except the beneficiary himself; through his unbelief or he's manipulated to work against it. Isaac said to Esau: "I have blessed your brother and I cannot reverse it". Balaam advised Balak to make the Israelites to commit iniquities to frustrate God's blessing on their lives. But, thanks be to God for the once for a life time sacrifice accomplished by Christ on behalf of the believers in Him.

CONFESSION
I have been blessed above all people to always enjoy the best of God. I'll continue to speak God's words of blessing upon me and other men.

GOSPEL OF CHRIST DEVOTIONAL 1191/020123

SET YOURSELF TO LIVE IN GOD'S BEST AS A BELIEVER IN CHRIST (PART1).

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Contextually, Jeremiah's prophecy was towards the Israelites who were going through some terrible and howling conditions of captivity and oppression. It was in the midst of such God through Jeremiah to encourage them with His wonderful plans, thoughts and glorious destination for them. As believers in Christ, we must come to a point where we consider our contradictory situations as unacceptable and therefore refuse to settle for less; but rather set ourselves for God's best. In seeking to live for God's best, we must understand that there are two principal ways we receive from God: the first is by a miracle and the second is by the Blessing of the Lord.

God's ultimate design is to meet our needs by His blessing, instead of by a miracle. A miracle is something extraordinary, which requires God to supersede or contravene natural laws. While a blessing cooperates with natural and spiritual laws to meet our needs. In other words, there would have been no need for God to intervene by miracles, if not for the fall. In Gen.1:31,after creation, God was so satisfied with what He had put in place that He gave an excellent mark of "very good". But the fall disrupted that condition. A miracle becomes necessary when one is in a crisis; While The Blessing prevents crises. A good case study is when a man's wife gets pregnant: such man could cooperate with natural principles by saving towards her delivery in the next nine months. He could also respect spiritual principles by engaging in faith driven targeted givings during same period. These would prevent the family from crisis during her delivery; instead of seeking for a financial miraculous intervention or sometimes looking for where to borrow. This is why believers must learn to walk and live in the Blessing by cooperating with natural and spiritual laws. During the crisis period of bringing the Israelites out of Egypt and bringing them into Canaan, a lot of miracles were performed to free them from the hands of Pharaoh: to Cross the Red Sea, Jordan, daily supplies of Manna and Quails etc. But immediately they entered Canaan and began to eat of the harvest of the land, Manna and Quails ceased.

This tells us that, it is not God's intention for us to live by miracles. Miracles are temporary, while the Blessing is permanent as long as we cooperate with natural and spiritual laws. We cannot experience abundance, living by the paradigm of depending on God to meet our needs by miracles. This is why in the wilderness, the children of Israel were instructed to collect enough food for a day; except on the Sabbath when they were asked to collect for two days. It is only when we live by the paradigm of the blessing that we can be rich or experience abundance (2Cor.9:6-9; Prov.10:22). Beloved, if you're currently facing a crisis, believe God for His miraculous intervention to come out of it; but learn spiritual and natural laws to cooperate with, to walk in the Blessing and never return to a season of crisis in Jesus name.
CONFESSION
I am a blessed citizen of God's Kingdom (my new testament Canaan). I live in the blessing of the Lord. I don't run after miracles, I live in the miraculous and produce miracles.
