TOPIC: FORGET THE PAST, PRESS TOWARD THE FUTURE
“Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand." Romans 14:4.
MESSAGE
Put your past behind you. Paul declared, " *Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" (Philipians 3:13)*
The devil wants you to believe that if you have failed once, you are bound to fail forever. Perhaps you have been trapped by this lie, thinking, I've tried many times to overcome this habit, but I'll never succeed. ' Know this: it is a lie. Paul reminds us that we are "Persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed" (2nd Corinthians 4:9).
Consider how a baby learns to walk. They watch others, try to imitate, and fall many times. Yet they keep trying until they succeed. Past failures do not determine your future. Whether you are battling a habit, healing a hurt, or striving to grow in God's Kingdom, your past does not limit your potential. But if you fixate on past failures, you risk repeating them--like driving forward while only watching the rear-view mirror. You will surely crash. Instead, cultivate a vision of the future God has for you and walk confidently toward it.
