ADULT STS VOL 75 LESSON 963

CONDITIONS FOR FELLOWSHIPPING WITH GOD

MEMORY VERSE: “LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart” (Psalm 15:1,2).

TEXT: Psalms 14,15 and 53

God originally created man to be in constant fellowship with Him, but the Fall in the Garden of Eden due to disobedience truncated this privilege. Man has since drifted further into wickedness and corruption with no regard for or recognition of the will, way and commandments of God. “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually... And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth” (Genesis 6:5,12). This condition attracted punishment from God and He destroyed the then world, sparing only righteous Noah and his family.

However, the Lord worked out a redemption and restoration plan so that the fellowship that was lost in Eden could be reclaimed and enjoyed here on earth and beyond the grave.

Question 1: Explain why man fell out of favour and fellowship with God.

1. CONDITION OF THE FALLEN MAN

Psalms 14:1-6; 53:1-5; Romans 1:21-32; 3:10-18; Job 15:6

The sinfulness of man after the Fall degenerated into different classes of denial of the Creator. Some chose to be atheists – an outright claim that God does not exist; some professed agnosticism – a claim that it is difficult or impossible to know whether God exists or not; then we have pantheism – a religious idea that God and the universe are the same; and so on. But the Scripture classifies all of them as fools. “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good” (Psalm 14:1).

Man has continued in corruption and different forms of abomination with no fear or regard for the Creator and His laws. The doom of people who do not believe that there is God are set forth in our text and in other Scripture references (Psalm 14:1-7; 36:1; 53:1-6; 1 John 2:22).

The root of atheism is in the heart. “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Rom 1:21,22). Its effect on character, speech and action is disastrous, and it ends in great fear and torment (Psalm 14:5). But when Jesus is embraced as Lord and personal Saviour, the light of His glorious gospel dispels the darkness of unbelief and ushers in the knowledge of the almighty God (2 Cor 4:4).

Question 2: What is the condition of those who have lost fellowship with God?

The true condition of those who have lost fellowship with their Maker is,

i. They have gone aside from the laws of God, become filthy and worthless (verse 3).

ii. They are workers of iniquity (verse 4).

iii. They call not upon the Lord, but serve false gods (verse 4).

iv. They live in great fear and insecurity (Psalms 28:1; 14:5).

v. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:22).

vi. They have changed the glory of the incorruptible God into “an image made like to corruptible man” (Romans 1:23).

vii. God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves (Romans 1:24).

viii. They are filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness and other sins (Romans 1:29).

ix. They have pleasure in them that do unrighteousness.

x. They are condemned to eternal damnation, except they repent (John 3:18).

2. CURE FOR THE SINFULNESS OF MAN

Psalm 14:7; 53:6, Hebrews 9:28; 1 John 1:5-10

In view of the facts expressed about the fallen man as one who is filled with all unrighteousness, coupled with the general prevalence of iniquity, the psalmist cries out for salvation and deliverance. He says, “Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad” (Psalm 14:7). This, without doubt, is the obvious cure for our sinfulness.

Zion is synonymous with the city of David (2 Samuel 5:7), which is Jerusalem, where the Lord has put His name. Thus, salvation and deliverance come through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of God. Repentance and remission of sin through faith in the atoning blood of Christ bring us into fellowship with God. “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Hebrews 9:28). When a sinner or backslider realises his or her sinful state, repents and accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour, he or she will be cured from the disease of sin and will be restored to fellowship with the Father. Thus, “…our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ”. Everyone can be restored to fellowship as soon as the conditions are fulfilled (Romans 3:25; 1 John 4:10).

3. CANDIDATES FOR THE HEAVENLY FELLOWSHIP

Psalms 15:1-5; 24:3-5; James 1:19-27

The Scripture characterizes those who would have fellowship with God here on earth, in the church triumphant as well as dwell in His holy heaven, the eternal abode of true believers. King David had asked an eternally important question that must be on the lips of every person in this world. He asks, “LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?” (Psalm 15:1). He put forth this question in view of the corruption and degeneracy of mankind described in the preceding psalm (Psalm 14). In other words, if the world is filled with so much hate, terror, wickedness, greed, corruption and immorality, who has such qualities to be permitted to enjoy the favour and friendship of God in His kingdom on the last day? Knowing that death is the ultimate end of everyone born into this world, the answer to this most important question should be of utmost interest to everyone.

The qualifications for heaven-bound saints embrace the following:

i. Such a saint must walk uprightly (Psalm 15:2). Upright walk implies that there is no crookedness or dishonesty in a person’s life. It means such an individual walks according to the truth of the gospel. His life is free of guile, deception and hypocrisy (John 1:47).

ii. He “worketh righteousness”. The works of such a believer are characterised by faith and righteousness of Christ (1 Thess 1:7; 2 Thess 1:11). He is also full of the good works of sharing the gospel, helping, giving to others and touching lives positively (Acts 9:36).

iii. He speaks the truth in his heart; that is, there is sincerity and honesty of speech. He does not speak with a double heart or say one thing and intend another.

iv. He “…backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour” (verse 3). He is not a slanderer, defamer or one who secretly destroys another’s reputation.

v. He abhors evil and evildoers, no matter their status or position. The only thing of concern to him is to reach them with the gospel of God’s grace. On the other hand, he honours the saints of God, no matter their economy.

vi. He upholds his covenant and consecration to serve the Lord until the end, without wavering. Whatever happens, he remains faithful also to his vows and promises; he is not given to change (verse 5; Proverbs 24:21).

vii. He “…putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent…” The word ‘usury’ is an old term for interest charged by a lender to a borrower for his money. The Scripture condemns oppression of the poor and taking advantage of their wants through usury (Exodus 22:25). The heaven- bound saint is not covetous but merciful and considerate.

Moreover, rapture-conscious saints do not allow pecuniary or other considerations to induce them to alter the cause of justice (verse 5). Bribery, fraud, scam and cheating are condemned in Scripture and those who have their hearts and eyes set for heaven would not be defiled by them.

Question 3: Mention the essential qualifications of those who would abide in fellowship with God here and hereafter.

“…He that doeth these things shall never be moved” (Psalm 15:5). This answers the question of who would dwell in the holy hill of the Lord. Believers are assured that with a holy, honest and sanctified disposition, they shall inherit the kingdom of God. Keeping the perfect law of liberty and continuing in it brings peace of mind, hope and assurance of eternity with God in heaven. It assures us of continuous fellowship with the Father and His abiding presence in our daily life of service. Therefore, “Whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:25).

Question 4: What are the benefits of keeping the laws of God?

MONDAY BIBLE STUDY 18/05/2020
TOPIC: SIGNS OF THE BEGINNING OF THE END
TEXT: MARK 13:1-8
B/READING: Isaiah 41-42
GHS: 175
MINISTER: PASTOR W.F KUMUYI

Jesus Christ at the temple with his disciple. He was asked a question (Mark 13:1) the mount of olive are the distance side and the side of the mount of olive over against the temple. In verse 4"Tell us what shall this be, and now Jesus began to give them answer, asking about what the end will be. They were asking about how the coming of the Lord shall be. In verse 7 For nation shall rise against nation. The chapter is significant chapter of the events that will be happening. The disciples were fascination of what is going to happen. So then, they were wondering of how the mountain will be u destroyed...the prophesy covers the line of the Gentiles (when the gentiles will have dominion over them) and also talks about the the gathering of the children before the great tribulation will come...about the second coming of Christ will be established by milenium of the everlasting kingdom.

POINT ONE:
THE SHOCKING BACKGROUND OF THE DISCIPLE'S DEMAND.Mark 13:1-4; Matthew 23:37,38; Luke 19;41; Ezekiel 7:21,22; Matthew 13:39-40; 1 Peter 4:7.
The reason why the demand what the demands. It talking about the background and the discussion and the question they were asking i.e how splendid, how beautiful are these stones. One disciple asking the question and Jesus answering them one by one. It is a prophetic discussion of the great building, when Jesus was telling them about AD30-AD32, it was about 40years at that time. In (verse 4) tells us, what shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfiled? They thought the kingdom will come immediately, the thought the kingdom will come immediately. The thought was on immediate appearance. The kingdom was an destruction of the smiley in destroyable temple. The discussion of the children of Israel to the Jews. They were thinking about the delay that will come until the second coming will come. They thought the end of the world will not come (Matthew 23:37,38) the language of Jesus Christ there wasn't said he didn't choose the house anymore. He said until yesterday shall said "Blessed is he that come in the city of the Lord. Talking about the city and in verse 42-43 when Jesus was talking, this was still in prophesy, and talking about scattering of the Jewish people, the pressure, the oppression that will come in the time of Gentiles (Like 21:5-7) that was prophetic at that time, and it was not happening at that time he mentioned the end of that world. Notice he language of Jesus gave to them.

POINT TWO;
THE SEVERE BATTLE AGAINST DAMNABLE DECEPTION.
Isaiah 8:20; Daniel 11:21-24,32,34; Jeremiah 29:8,24; 2Peter 2:1; 2Peter2:1; 2Timothy 4:1-6;15,16; 2Thesaalonia 2:3,5-12.
They have asked the question where will it be the destruction of the building, where shall that be the coming of the Lord? And Jesus answered them saying, destruction shall come? This is the personification revelation of the gospel of the Lord about the deception, how do you know that (Isaiah 8:20) i.e you know the testimony is true and perfect ( Daniel 11:21). This is talking about the future, and many are not very sure that Jesus Christ is the Savior, healer (Isaiah 8:34) Jesus said, many will come in gardening and they will deceive many. In the new testament (Luke 21:8) The word of Jesus telling us about the word of God. Jesus said it over and over ,the people who are over confidence, the time drawneth near (go in therefore after them). The Lord is telling us the time we are living, under prevention of the devastating of the corona virus. That where Jesus said, you must watch if you're going to be free from the damn cell of the disease, you must keep yourself away from any kinda of diseases. In (1Peter 2:1,2) where Jesus spoke openly to the disciple they will speak by the spirit of God abiding in them. In the latter time, which is the time we are living now, they will be speaking lies hyprocrasy (in verse 6) meditate these things all that Jesus Christ spoke about and all that Jesus Christ spoke about, and all the things that will be coming forth (in verse 16), take here the doctrine of Christ he has given into you, meditate on these things and get yourself ready for the coming of the Lord. In (2Thessalonias 2:3) Let no man deceive you (the spirit is speaking expressly through paul the apostle). Paul the apostle said in his own time, the mystery of iniquity has happened until those be taken out of the way.

POINT THREE:
THE SORROWFUL BEGINNINGS WITH DEVASTATING DESTRUCTIONS. Mark 13:1; Jeremiah 7:6; Jeremiah 13:21; 1Tjessalonians 5:3; Revelation 6:1-17; Luke 21:33,34.
The reason why the demand what they demanded. It talking about the background and the discussion and the question they were asking, how splendid and beautiful it will be. There are many y people that concentrate their prayer on things that will happen that there is no way of things in the mind of the people. Jesus said, heaven and earth must pass away but my word sha not pass away. Jess said, these are the signs and it happening everywhere, and there will be farming and trouble. The time of the great tribulation is the time of punishment, suffering. In the new testament (1Thessalonias 5:3) the time of war, about the time of false peace. As revelation comes now, it giving us the noise of thunder (Revelation 6:20). The Lord is saying we should take heed, Jesus said, the kind of tribulation is not local tribulation. I'm conclusion, Jesus said, be ready, be safe, be sanctified, be secure,...
Be Ready means:
• Be Responsible - don't be irresponsible
• Be Righteous and be Raptureble
• Be Watchful, waiting and be worthy.
As the Lord is revealing all this to us, each of us will be worthy to be there on the final day in Jesus name. The Lord will keep you worthy, secure in his grave, save and sound in Jesus name. Amen!

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE MESSAG

PREACHER: OUR FATHER IN THE LORD, PASTOR W. F. KUMUYI

TOPIC: OUR CONSTANT VIGILANCE AND VICTORY OVER TEMPTATION

TEXT: MATTHEW 26:41
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

These were the words of Jesus Christ to His own disciples. He Himself was watching, praying and getting to the climax of His coming to this world and He knew that his disciples would remain to carry on with the work of the ministry after He had gone.

He had saved, chosen and selected them from the world and was preparing them for the glory ahead. He told them watch and pray and they thought it had to do with just a few days or months ahead of them, they did not that it was for that time, the next week, next month and till the end of their lives.

The Lord is speaking to us today, we are not in the service just for the events of the moment, but so that the Lord will strengthen and equip us for the journey ahead so that on that final day, we would not have fizzled out or die on the wayside. We will not stop our journey halfway. Amen.

Watch and pray. Open your eyes so that you do not enter blindfolded into temptation. Do not close your eyes while you are walking, you may fall into a pit. Open your eyes, do not look down, look up, look in front of you. Evaluate all that is going on around you so that you can know the purpose, the engine, and personality behind the tempter and temptress.

Be on alert. Watch and pray. While you are watching, pray. Something beyond you that your natural strength cannot overcome, something above you that your human energy cannot conquer, someone older and stronger than you are is trailing you, seeking to cut you down at your weakest moment. You cannot by your strength overcome him. Depend on the Almighty who is able to empower you to overcome. Do not only watch, watch and pray. Why? So that you will not enter into temptation.

Peter, James and John, you must watch personally. None can do it for the other. Each one must wake up, be active and vigilant individually that you enter not into temptation

The spirit of each individual is unique to him. Every person is willing, but their strength cannot carry them. The flesh is weak.

Is it not unfortunate that the Lord could speak to them, and they could brush it aside, carelessly, thinking the warning was not necessary, elevating and exalting self confidence above the warning of the Saviour, boasting that they will go with Him all the way?

I Corinthians 10:12.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Apostle Paul by the Spirit of God is writing here, let him who thinks he stands as firm as an apostle sent of God, having self confidence, firm decision take heed, lest he fall.

God is faithful and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond our limit. He has the ability to keep us if we trust in Him. He that thinks he stand should take heed lest he falls.

God is not the cause of the temptation but He moderates it. As we all know, satan is behind every temptation but he is limited. For example, he could not touch Job until God permitted him.

If you do not open your eyes, how will you see the way of escape out of the dungeon, out of the place temptation? If you do not open the ears of your mind, how will you recollect the verse that throws the door open and you escape from that situation?

If you are self consumed, thinking only about yourself, and you are not thinking about the promise of God, how will you see when He makes a way of escape for you?

The people who fall into temptation are those who close their eyes to the leading of the Spirit showing them the way to life eternal. They are not concerned about getting out and making their way to life eternal. God will help us to find a way of escape. God's grace is sustaining.

vs 14.
1 Corinthians 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Be a man and woman of action. There are times to move, run, flee. Do not watch idol worshipping on TV, on the roadside, or when their procession is going on the way. Do not show any interest or be asking them how they are doing it (I John 5:21) Keep yourselves from idols. The Lord wants us to be victorious all the time.

Sinners and saints are tempted. Even the Saviour was tempted. Believers and sinners are tempted. The young and old are tempted. When David was tempted, he was not a teenager. When he was tempted to number Israel, he was about coming to the end of his tenure on the throne.

Temptation is enticement to do evil. Solicitation to do evil, maybe through discussion with somebody, flattery, through an offer of pleasure, while they hide the pain, peril and perdition. They only show you what pleasure you will have if you yield to their offer.

Those who have been tempted and conquered by satan are recruited to tempt other people. You cannot be a tempter/temptress except your mind has been conquered by satan himself. It is only after you have succumbed to temptation that you are employed by the devil to become a tempter.

How do we overcome? We overcome by faith in Christ, and the word of God, so read and believe the word so you can defeat the devil.

Idle minds are Satan's workshop and they are easily overcome. Your emotion is easily drawn into something. The feeling in your body, the pulling of your mind and attraction of the situation around you are grouped under your emotion.

You cannot control it by telling it to stop, rather you conquer by removing the 'e' from 'emotion' and you have the word, 'motion'. So be active, be on the motion.
- Open your mouth and quote the word,
- Move your feet and flee from the place of temptation,
- Move your mind to another subject
- Move yourself to do something else, you can sing. Be active, do not be idle. By this, negative emotiond will flee away.

A. CONSTANT WATCHFULNESS AGAINST TEMPTATION AND SIN. Matthew 26:41
When individuals are not watching, they are tripped, and are surprisingly taken by the tempter. We will watch.

Mark 14:38. "Watch ye and pray"
This is not hanging in the balance, but directed at you. You have a peculiar personality, situation where you work, a peculiar community where you live, and you as a person have peculiar weaknesses through which you can fall. Understand your own peculiarities, watch and pray, so you do not enter into temptation.

The Lord would have taken us to heaven as soon as we become born again. If we were allowed to choose between going to heaven immediately and staying here, we would have preferred to go now. But He is not taking us now, we are still here.

Temptations come to everyone. God is no respecter of persons, so is the devil not a respecter of persons when bringing temptations. He came to Eve, the first Adam and the last Adam (Jesus Christ) and he is still coming to every son and daughter of God today. There should be constant watchfulness against temptations and trials.

We normally lock our doors against intruders, putting electronic gadgets to beeg up security if we have precious things in our house. That is what we call watchfulness.
We must watch so much more over our souls, because they are much more precious than earthly possessions. Tempters and temptresses are everywhere to take us to places we never thought possible.

WATCH!
1. Watch at the gate of Eden's habitation. Adam and Eve should have watched, not only for themselves but for the sake of posterity coming behind them. Adam the father of all living, Eve, mother of all living. She did not watch, the serpent came in, she fell and we are still suffering the repercussions till today.

2. Watch Over Your Birthright. It was the failure of Esau to not know that he had something precious. He ought to have known that the Birthright is valuable. Watch against the pottage of Jacob. He has been eyeing the Birthright for a long time, he wanted to sn**ch it away from Esau.
Watch over your Birthright. Do not allow the pottage of an afternoon to take it away from you.

3. Watch from the highgate of Achan. What you see with your eyes gets connected to your heart: Is she not beautiful? Is he not handsome? Is that property not exactly what I need? Watch against the property of Babylon.

4. Watch against the lust of Samson.
: Samson, where are you going? Where do you spend your leisure time?
What is your hobby?
Who are you always contacting or texting? Who are you always interacting with?

Samson, watch against the lust, the pleasure of Delilah. She has a goal, she is purposeful as an errand woman for her people, she is not befriending you for nought, she is an agent! She was sent!

5. Watch against the ambition of Absalom. Watch against position seeking. The thoughts are not just there, Absalom, there is a personality behind it. The army of David your father is the greatest anywhere you can think of. The devil wants to get and destroy you here on earth and send you to hell. He will use anything in your heart!

6. Watch against the propensity of Solomon.
Solomon, watch that wisdom, eloquence you use in winning princesses from nation to nation that pushed you to acquire 1,000 women. None of these women had any quarrel among themselves. He was in the business of controlling his numerous wives when he was supposed to be controlling the nation under his care. Watch over the plurality of women so that when you get a promotion or attain a higher level in life, you will be careful not to fall into their traps. Watch against the temptation towards polygamy.

7. Watch against covetousness and avarice so that prosperity does not replace purity in your life. Prosperity is limited and cannot take anyone to heaven.

Genesis 3:1-3. Beware of anything that makes you to doubt the word of God, the doctrines of the Bible, your conviction, do not allow such conversations to go on. The devil is much older than Adam and Eve. He had been Lucifer in heaven, a place more beautiful than Eden, and he lost it. He lost heaven and there is no redemption for him, so he would never allow any human being to get there. Never, ever get into a conversation with the devil.

If you are not going to eat it, why are you admiring it? Why are you looking at it? Why are you touching it?

vs 4. And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die...
Beware of anyone who confronts and contradicts the word of God. The word of God says, if you eat the fruit, you will die, but the devil said their eyes will open, that God was wrong.

Beware of anyone who is bold enough to contradict the word of God, that says nothing will happen when God says something will happen.

Beware of anyone who ascribes wrong intentions to God, who says God knows you will get pleasure in this, He knows this is good for you, that is why He is denying you of them.

Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
The devil told Eve, if you eat the fruit, you and your husband Adam will be gods.
Beware of any promotion that is coming to you that makes a human divine, beware of anyone telling you that you will be what God has not intended you to be. I reject any promotion, honour and exaltation coming from the devil in Jesus name.

vs 6. And when the woman saw... that was the downfall. When you see eye to eye with the devil. By discussion, arguments and flattery he wants to pull you down and you nod your head, saying, I see... When satan, serpent, tempter, or temptress becomes your friend, and you say in your heart, I see...

When you take the word of the tempter at face value, and depreciate and trample on the word of the Almighty God, you have been overcome by the tempter.

vs 6. Eve had been tempted, and she did not overcome: a conquered person becomes a tool in the hand of the devil to make the person closest to him fall. The one who has been overcome by the devil becomes a tempter/temptress. How will you listen to someone who has been conquered, someone who is a jellyfish with no backbone?
Eve gave the fruit to Adam. Will you take poison from the one who has already taken some of it? Someone who is ready to die? Do not make friends with the one who is already on his way to hell fire.

B. COURAGEOUS WARRIORS AGAINST TEMPTERS AND SEDUCERS. I Timothy 1:18; 6:11-12
Satan daily seek to wage war against us in order to take away the precious things in us.

We are to wage war against tempters and seducers. If you are busy working at something very important, that is, the heavenly crown, and every part of your body and life is working. You are studying the bible, evangelizing, working to help members of your family to make heaven, you are busy, the devil will not have chance in your life. It is when you are not busy, and you are idle, that satan comes to you.

Those who are already conquered are thoughtless. If they were thoughtful, they would think, and not throw their brains away. Anywhere they go, their minds, the accumulation of knowledge they have acquired all these years, their convictions are with them, whether they are asleep, awake, in Babylon or in Rome. They are thoughtful people. Those who yield to temptation are thoughtless.

The Thoughtlessness Of Yielding To Temptation:

1. Lot.
Lot relocated to S***m because of the blessing of God on his life: the herds of cattle have increased considerably. He chose the greener side. He took his wife, cattle, herdsmen there. On the day when S***m went up in flames, none of Lot's cattle and herders escaped, even his wife became a pillar of salt. Thoughtless!

2. Esau.
: Esau, what are you doing?
: Trade by barter.

: Esau, what are you getting?
: I am getting a bowl of pottage, it is reddish and the aroma is inviting.

: Esau, what are you giving in return?
: I will give my Birthright

So thoughtless! He did not think of the greatness and value of the Birthright which links him up with Abraham and Isaac! He threw it away and by the time he realises his folly, he cried and cried many tears but could not get it back.

Thoughtless people are defeated in temptation.

3. Balaam
: Balaam, where are you going?
: I am going to Balak. He has promised me wealth and quite a lot when he came the other time. I went to pray and God said I should not go but I thought I was missing a great deal. He has so much money that he does not know what to do with it, so I am going to meet him.

: Balaam, you will get death with that money, you will not even have the life to spend it. Not only that, you will end up in hell fire.

: (praying again) Lord, they have come again, can I go now?
: You can go.
: (happy) Ah thank God! He has changed His mind!

God never changes His mind. If He said No at the first, He is still as wise as then, the answer is still No.

Balaam still went, against God's instructions. He perished in the deal and went to hell fire. May we not perish like Balaam. He was defeated and conquered because He was thoughtless.

If God said No yesterday, He still says No today.

4. Samson
: Samson, where did you go? Where did you sleep last night?
: I slept the most peaceful sleep I ever had!

: Where?
Samson: In the house of Delilah. Can I begin to describe the house to you?

: Not, do not bother. Where will you sleep tonight?
: With Delilah of course! I do not want to miss the pleasure of another night with her!

Thoughtless, so thoughtless!

: Delilah has no interest in sleep, she is after the secret of the power and stability, steadfastness and your secret of standing like the rock of Gibraltar that nothing can overcome you!

Then, he began to tell lies.
: If you love me indeed, tell me the truth.

After lying day by day, he opened up and told her the secret. As soon as she got the truth, she sent for her people.

Samson was thinking of love, whereas, Delilah was thinking of capturing, defeating and emasculating the man until there was no strength in him.

: The Philistines are upon you Samson!

Samson went out to shake himself like before, but the power was gone! Our power will not go. The fountain and source of our power will not dry up! Amen!

They captured Samson, removed his two eyes, and put him to grinding in the mill.
While you are where you are, praise the Lord. In this church, everything you are hearing on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday may look ordinary to you, but note that you have a security that the devil cannot invade. When you move out of the security, it may seem at first that where you have gone is a palace... (may you never leave the place of protection in Jesus name.

Thoughtful People:
These are people who are standing and will overcome all the days of their lives in Jesus name. Amen.
1. Joseph: His master's wife tempted him but he did not yield to the temptation. He told her that God is watching over his life and that He has plans for his life. He said he cannot sin against God.

He did not see eye to eye with the woman who thought providence made it possible for Joseph and her to be alone in the house that day. The woman thought that she had caught Joseph but he left the coat with her and fled. He said, you can take my coat, you cannot take my conscience, conversion, and conviction.

At the end, Joseph became the ruler over Egypt and a blessing to his own nation, because, he was thoughtful.

2. Daniel
A decree was passed that no one should pray to any other God, except the king. They wanted to cut Daniel off from the source of power but he would not budge, he still prayed 3 times a day. Though he was thrown into the lion den, yet he escaped and prevailed.

3. Shadrach, Meshach and Abdenego
It was said that when the music from various musical instruments were played, they should bow down. Ww muust know that there is the music of Babylon and that of Believers. Believers have nothing to do with the songs of Babylon.

They were to bow down, otherwise, they will be thrown into the fiery furnace. The king boasted, who is that God!?
Unbelievers are thoughtless. They do not fear our God.

At the end, they were thrown into the fire but the Son of the Living God joined them and the fire did not burn them.

I will be truthful to my calling, and consecration Proverbs 23:23. Buy the truth, and sell it not. I will be regular in your presence to any programme.

ch 24:21. Fear the Lord and the king. Fear the Lord and your leader. Honour the king and his position. The kings give you all the things for our physical convenience, but your pastor opens to you the book and doctrines of life. Do not look down on any minister in the church. Do not look down, denigrate, reject or push to the backround any of the pastors and leaders. Meddle not with them that are given to change.

The Lord has saved us, we will be thoughtful and truthful.

C. CLMMENDABLE WINNERS OF THEIR TRIUMPH AND STEADFASTNESS. Jeremiah 35:5-6
Jeremiah, a prophet of God at the instruction of the Almighty, put a pot of wine before the sons of the house of the Rechabites in the temple. Despite the position of Jeremiah, they refused to drink, according to the instruction of their father given to them before he died. They said, We WILL NOT DRINK.

Some people do not have backbone. They easily yield, they cannot stand on their own, in their decision to follow the Lord.

The message is the Bible
The minister is the man

The minsters are men but the message remains the same. We must be men and women of convictions. We must not allow anyone, any leader, no matter the position to change the word of God. If anyone says anything contrary to what we have learned, we will say, WE WILL DRINK NO WINE.

We must earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints. We must not change the message, we must not change our convictions.

God who helped our Pastor all these years will sustain us.

vs 18-19
Jeremiah 35:18-19 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

The steadfastness of the house of the Rechabites was duly rewarded by God. They will always have good representation before God all the days of their lives.
May this be our portion in Jesus name!

Prayer:
Rise up and tell the Lord to give you the grace to endure and overcome all temptations, and that you will earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints.

2. Please, drop a word of prayer for our father in the Lord, that he will finish strong and well.

Amen.
