TOPIC: Let go to Gain Christ
TEXT: philippians 3 Vs 7 - 8, 2 Timothy 2 Vs 19, Ecc. 12 Vs 1, Mathew 7 vs 21 - 22
Let go to gain Christ implies Suffer Loss to gain Christ.
The preacher stress that we have to leave worldly pleasure, to embarrass Christ, also abstain from Youthful Lust. If we have the kingdom of God as a goal , we must have an intimate relationship with God, and let go the things we Cherish so much that is contrary to the word of God if we must gain Christ. It goes beyond we been in the church or service we render to God, What is our Stand with God? Paul count it not Loss the things he left behind to gain Christ.
ACCORDING to 2 Timothy 2 Vs 19
The foundation GOD has Laid remained Firm.
The second Phrase is; HAVING THIS SEAL: A Seal is used for Security or as a Mark of Genuineness.
Thirdly, THE LORD KNOWETH THEM THAT ARE HIS: This is one of the inscription on the Foundation; which seems to mark the Character of the Building. It is at the same time a fearful inscription - Showing that no one can DECEIVE GOD; that He is Intimately Acquainted with all who enter that building, the foundation he had laid. He knows the intend of every one: He knows His Friends and His Foes.
Lastly AND, LET EVERY ONE THAT NAMETH THE NAME OF CHRIST DEPART FROM INIQUITY - this is the other Seal or inscription which is made on the foundation, which God Laid. The foundation has two inscription - the First implies that God know all who are His own People; the other, that all who are His professed people should depart from evil. We should lead a holy lives in essence.
ACCORDING to Ecc. 12 Vs 1
The wise and penitent preacher is here closing his sermon; He Call to Young People to THINK OF GOD; and Mind their Duty to Him; Now that we are Young and Fit
1. He guarded us against the Love of Mirth
2. To avoid indulgence of sensual pleasure.
Remember God not only as the Creator, that He made us and not we ourselves. We should pay him the Honour and Duty which we owe him as our creator. We should take up the duty to reverence God.
ACCORDING to Matthew 7 vs 21 - 22
Not every one that call to me Lord, Lord; will enter into the kingdom of heaven, But he that does the Will of the Father. HE personify a person, singular, it speaks of one doing the Will of the father and not looking up to others, it's an individual thing. An individual Race, the scripture had rightly said that Man is inexcusable. One of the WILL of the Father, Depart from iniquity (wickedness) above all place God First, and build an intimate relationship with Christ.

OH lord help me to do your Will and Stand for you, at all time, Amen.
