Approaching God

It used to bother me that the closer I drew to God in my walk with Him, the more sinful I felt. Then a phenomenon I observed in my room enlightened me. A tiny gap in the curtain covering my window ...

The word of the Lord came to me concerning the year 2015.its Daniel 11v 32. They that know their God shall be strong and shall do exploit cos corruption shall abound. Hold firm to what you have learnt over the year in your work with Christ that obey the Holy Spirit and thats all it takes to scale through successfully.

There is a serious work to do.Do you know the work? Its prayer. A prayerless Christian is a Powerless Christian.

Why should you as christian youth wake up daily, prepare and leave your house every morning without praying. Please stop that habit. Because the devil is fast robbing us of our strenght to pray. That's why you cant pray the way you ought to.

Friend, the days are evil, so always, pray for yourself, family, your community, your country and grace to serve the Lord bitter. Pray also for the upcoming elections and insurgence in Nigeria. Jesus said'men ought to pray and not to faint'

God bless you

Going to higher institution is not the highest or the best thing that can happen to anybody. I believe its all about vision. If your vision does not accommodate higher institution now, it can accommodate it later. What am i trying to say, its not a must that when you are done with secondary school in nigeria, you should proceed to higher institution Nooo. Its not. You can build some effective skill that will make you independent so that finally you can go to the higher institution to add to you skill. That's the truth

As ISIS terrorism continues in Iraq, tens of thousands of refugees have already fled their hometowns and cities, with more running from the threat of attacks every day.

Hana Kareem is a Christian Refugee who says she and her family were forced to leave Qaraqosh. She vividly remembers, “We were sleeping around noon time when mortars started falling all around us. We were afraid so we prayed and then we left. My son was not able to eat or drink. He was traumatized.”

Shamo is a recent Christian convert who spent 8 days trapped on Sinjar Mountain. He says he witnessed terrorists kill 170 Yazidi men and take their wives and daughters away to be sold or used as s*x slaves.

One former police officer took his family, including a newborn, to safety in Erbil after his city was seized. He says, “If we return to our village, they will kill us.”

All of these Iraqis and thousands like them found refuge in make-shift camps, schools, and abandoned office buildings. With scorching temperatures, medical emergencies, hard floors to sleep on, hungry babies, and dirty water-- the living conditions are brutal. So CBN Disaster Relief partnered with Iraqi Christians and organizations to help.

Operation Blessing’s Brian Scott was on the ground in Zhako assessing and meeting the refugee’s needs. He states, “Knowing that many Yazidis died on Mount Sinjar lacking clean water, we have taken the initiative to bring water tanks to the Yazidi people so they would have water on a daily basis in order to drink and survive.”

To combat a potential stomach virus outbreak, we provided a water filter system in Erbil.

“And we do these things in the name of Jesus Christ,” Brian Scott adds.

In Al Quosh, CBN provided mattresses, pillows, blankets, milk powder, and a refrigerator and freezer. One diabetic man was relieved because he had no refrigeration for his insulin and feared he would have a heart attack and die. He says, “I want to tell the Americans thank you so much!”

CBN has given food, clothes, and medical aid to countless refugees. But thousands still wait in need. Some say they’re ready to give up.

Levon Sarkes is a pharmacist helping the refugees. He says, “They are crying. We have to support them, and we are encouraging them that the world doesn’t end here because Jesus Christ has a plan for you and he loves you.”

That’s the message we were able to share with over 100 refugee children, when we showed them Superbook in their own Arabic language. It helped them to forget the sadness and terror that forced them from their homes and trust God.

Saif is a Superbook volunteer in Erbil. He says with a smile, “It’s so good and this film is so nice. Jesus is with the children all the time. “

The Iraqi refugees’ physical and spiritual needs are great. Shamo says he was attracted to Jesus because of the kindness and generosity of Christians. He asks that American Christians continue to help his people, “We don’t want to give our children or our women anymore. Please pray the Yazidis people to come to Christ just like me.”

Pastor Disguised As Destitute to His Church and Members Refused To Help Him

When I was growing up in the 80s in Nigeria, the church is where you go when you need help, love and any and every kind of assistance. Guess what? You’ll get the attention of the big people (Pastors and assistants) as that is their purpose – to help the vulnerable and needy, source observed.

But what do we get these days? Pastors competing with themselves over who has the best suits, the best cars and, in recent times, whoenjoy more beautiful girls in the “Pastoral Cure Unit”. Now the mess has spread to church members, many are living the artificial life rather than be of help to their neighbour.

Below is what happened to this pastor who disguised as a destitute to his church:

Pastor Jeremiah Steepek transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning.
He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service, only 3 people out of the about 10,000 people said hello to him.
He asked people for change to buy food – no one in the church gave him change.
He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit in the back.
He greeted people only to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.
As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such.
When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation.
“We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek.” The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.
The homeless man sitting in the back stood up and started walking down the aisle. The clapping stopped with all eyes on him.
He walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment then he recited: “Then the King will say to those on his right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him: ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
‘The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning. Many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.
He then said, “Today I see a gathering of people, not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples. When will YOU decide to become disciples?”
Pastor Jeremiah Steepek then dismissed service until next week.
Following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ should be more than just talk. It ought to be a lifestyle that others around you can love about you and share in.
