This Thanksgiving and Reception Service tomorrow is not just a celebration; it is a testimony of where it all started and how far the Lord has brought me in this ministerial journey.
There was a time along this path when the road became extremely difficult and discouraging. At that point, a strong temptation came my way. Some of my friends who were doing very well in life driving good cars and living comfortably, offered me an opportunity to leave the ministry and join their company. Considering the hardship my family and I were facing at that time, the offer looked very appealing from a human perspective.
But in the midst of that trying moment, my late wife stood firmly beside me. When it would have been easy for us to give in to the pressure, she encouraged me to remain faithful to the calling of God. She reminded me that the ministry was not a mistake and that abandoning it for material comfort would not be the will of God for our lives.
Together we resisted that temptation, even though we were going through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. That moment became the most challenging and decisive period in my ministry.
Today, my wife is no longer here with me physically, but the courage and faith she demonstrated in that moment remain an eternal testimony in my heart.
Interestingly, the same company that once seemed like the better option has today been liquidated and is no more. But by the grace of God, I am still standing faithfully serving the Lord without doubt, without regret, and without turning back.
This story is a living proof that when a man chooses to accept God first and remain faithful to Him, every other thing shall indeed be added unto him.
From where it all started to where the Lord has brought me today, I stand as the Deputy Territorial Chairman of TACN Maritime Territory. Tomorrow’s Thanksgiving and Reception Service is simply my way of returning all the glory to God who has preserved and established me through every season.
To God alone be all the glory. 🙏🏽
