‎- It is a contest, a struggle for superiority.

‎- Thanksgiving is an aspect of praise and it is also a prayer.
‎- Thanksgiving is a natural response for what God has done for us — Lk 17:11-16.

‎What is the Sacrifice of Thanksgiving?

‎• The sacrifice of thanksgiving is giving God thanks for the not-so-good things happening in your life. It is more than thanking God (in advance) for the things you hope for. It is thanking God for the good, the bad, and the ugly.
‎
‎Why Should You Give a Sacrifice of Thanksgiving?
‎1. Everything you have experienced is a part of the plan. It was God's plan all along - Rom 8:28.
‎- The challenges you are facing are all part of God's plan.
‎- Your thanksgiving should include the challenges you are facing.
‎
‎2. A sacrifice of thanksgiving changes you.
‎
‎How Does the Sacrifice of Thanksgiving Change You?
‎a) The burden is cast upon God, where it ought to be.
‎b) You become less judgmental and more compassionate.
‎c) When you see the involvement of God in what you are going through, and you hand it over to Him in thanksgiving, it boosts your joy.
‎
‎3. God strengthens your weaknesses - 2 Cor 12:9-10.

Praise is one thing that moves from us to God. It is one act we render to God, not just for what He has done for us but for being God. As we journey through this month of August, get ready to lavish praises on God in all forms and shades, and at the back end, our lives and destinies would be the better for it. Welcome to August, our month of Extravagant praise!

‎What Is Holiness?
‎• It is the state or condition of being holy.
‎• To be holy is to be separated or set apart unto God.

‎Why Is Holiness Necessary?
‎1) It affords you the opportunity of living in the spirit - Gal. 5:25.

‎Life in the spirit is:
‎• A life of faith.
‎• A life free of sin - I Jn. 3:6–10.
‎• A life of giving and sacrifice - fasting.
‎• A life of dedication to God - prayers.
‎
‎2) It sets you apart for a greater use - II Tim. 2:19 - 21.
‎3) It keeps you out of satan's reach - Galatians 5:1.
‎4) Holiness is a weapon of warfare - John 14:30.

‎Some Scriptural Counsels to Walk in Holiness
‎1) Ensure you are born again - John 3:3-6.
‎2) Spend quality time studying the word of God- Ephesians 5:26.
‎3) Spend quality time praying in the Holy Ghost - Jude 20.
‎4) Exercise the power of your will- Hebrews 9:15-18.

‎Prayers
‎1. Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the spirit and power of holiness.
