5 Facts About Heaven







Scripture: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.” Revelation 21:1

Heaven is Real

Have you ever thought about Heaven and wondered if it’s real? Heaven is a real place. God’s Word, the Bible, is full of facts about Heaven. Let’s look at five facts about heaven and learn more about what our eternal lives will be like.

1. We Receive Heavenly Bodies

In Heaven, we will have brand new bodies. When Christ returns, our bodies will be resurrected (John 5:28-29). In those glorified bodies, free from sin and selfishness, we will live forever with God in Heaven.

2. God Will Make a New Heaven and New Earth

Just as our bodies will be made new, so will the earth. Though the Earth now suffers from the results of sin, Paul tells us that “the creation itself will be set free from its bo***ge to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God” (Romans 8:21).

Revelation 21:1 says “I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away”. This will happen sometime in the future. Heaven and earth will become one, and God’s eternal kingdom will be established on a brand new, purified earth. This is the New Heaven and New Earth we look forward to.

3. We Will See God in Heaven

The best thing about Heaven is that it is God’s dwelling place. Revelation 21:3 says, “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.'" The sinfulness that prevents us from being able to see God and live (Exodus 33:20) will be gone, and we will gaze at the most wonderful, beautiful Being in existence.

4. There is No Pain or Sadness in Heaven

While on Earth, we experience pain and sadness. The good news is, after we get to heaven we’ll never experience pain again! Revelation 21:4 says, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.’”

5. There is a “Temporary” Heaven

Until God makes the new heaven and new earth, believers who die will still enter God’s presence. The Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:8, “Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

GOD LOVES YOU!

He wants to have a relationship with you. He wants you to be with him for all eternity! Many people claim to be Christians because their parents were, or their country has a “Christian heritage”. Does going to church or giving to the poor make you a Christian? No, Christianity is a personal relationship with God, not a culture or a list of rules. So, how can we have a relationship with God?

Remove the Barrier of Sin

“For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23.

Sin is rebellion against God. I think all of us would agree; we are not perfect. Sin separates us from God because God is Holy (perfect). We cannot bridge this huge gap between us, because we can never be good enough to reach God’s perfect standard. It would be like swimming across the ocean. It is hopeless by human effort. That’s why we need Jesus to remove the barrier of sin and bridge the gap between us and God.

Accept Jesus Christ

I have Good News! God sent his Son Jesus to live a perfect, sinless life and die in our place.

“For the payment for sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

Jesus has already paid the penalty for your sin and offers a full pardon (forgiveness). This is a gift, not something you have to earn by being good. Like any gift, it is free; all you have to do is accept it and make it your own.

Become a Child of God

“Yet to ALL who did receive him, to those who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

Have you accepted God’s forgiveness offered to you through Jesus’ death on the cross? If yes, then according to scripture you are a child of God. You are a Christian because of your belief. Welcome to the family!

God’s Good Pleasure

I’ve been in a season of prayer recently and I have prayed for many of you. The testimonies are pouring in from left right and center but for some, the answer has not shown up yet. Whether you’ve gotten your miracle or are yet to get it, what binds us together is our thanksgiving and unyielding faith. God is faithful. Has He said it, He will do it. His ways are not our own and His timing is not exactly ours but in the fullness of time, He will come through for you. He never fails. Heaven and Earth will pass away but His word will remain. Anchor your trust deeply in His word.

Some of the things you pray for are your will – nothing wrong with that. And some of the things you pray for are God’s will. In these instances, you can start rejoicing after you ask because it is His good pleasure to give it to you. It is God’s good pleasure that you are provided for and are content. It is His pleasure that you abstain from fornication, and that you live a holy life. It is His good pleasure that you give thanks to Him in all circumstances. It is his good pleasure that you lead a quiet and peaceable life in all honesty and godliness. It is God’s pleasure to reveal Himself to you, that you come into the knowledge of truth. It is God’s good pleasure to save you.

Have you been abused in the past? Your innocence wrongly taken from you? Your heart ripped out and stomped upon right before your eyes? Have you been through the loss of a job or the loss of a provider (parent or spouse)? You who were well taken care of all of a sudden find yourself on the street corner begging for assistance? Let me say unequivocally that God’s sees you. He knows you. It is His good pleasure to give you wisdom. It is His good pleasure to show Himself strong on your behalf. To avenge you the wrongdoing you suffered. It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you what you ask of Him. It is His good pleasure to rescue you from the depths of hell. So don’t worry little Child. It is your father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
