TEN THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE CHURCH (Continuation)
5. The local church is organized: there is time for everything and everything must be done decently and in order 1 Cor.14:33,40. 'order' is the Greek word 'taxis' which means regular arrangement(in time), officially, dignity.

6. The local church has a structure of authority: Acts 2:14 among the apostles, Peter spoke.
Acts 15:6 when there's dispute in church, there's an authority that come together.
Titus 1:5 In the church, everyone must follow the structure of authority.

7. The local church has a mission purpose: mk. 16:15, Matt.20:18-20, Luke 24:47, 2 Cor.5:17-20
* The church gathers to go out and gathers again.
* The church teaches and trains disciples.
* The church must keep increasing.

8. You are discovered in the local church: Acts 6:3-5

9. You are protected in the local church: in the local church, you have coverage. The rightcomoanyvof believers would protect your ministry. Acts 12:4-7, 11:28, 21:10. You can be warned against danger by the brethren.

10. The church is a place of accountability: in the church, growth is monitored. There's a check on your growth to prevent you from stagnation. Acts 15:2-4,6, 1 Cor.1:7-8, 2 Tim 2:14

Psalm 24:1 God came and possessed the earth by dying for man. The creator of the world became the saviour of the world. God made the earth for man.
N/B When Jesus is revealed, you are revealed.
It's through the church the work of God is wrought on the earth.

4. A CHURCH MUST HAVE A CREED(A DOCTRINE): Acts 2:42. The creed is a system of truth the church lives by. Rom.6:17,18. To become a servant of righteousness, the system of truth must be coded into you and you continue in it. 2 Tim.1:13, 2:2, 3:14-15, Acts 20:28

More than what people are saying about Christ, what do you know and can say about Christ?
* The church is about the word Jesus Christ, that's why it is called the body of Christ. Anything outside Jesus Christ is a separate revelation (another gospel) 1 Tim. 3:14-15.
* The truth is the revelation of Jesus 1 Pet.1:13
* The church is an assembly of saved people who come to learn and know about their saviour.
* If you claim to be serving Jesus, then you must be serving the church. Exodus 3:12, 4:22, 5:1 The purpose of salvation is service. Our celebration of salvation is our service to God(the church). *The church is a group of people who are called(reconciled) and given the ministry of reconciliation.
* The church is the family of God Eph.3:14-15. You can't claim to love someone and forsake his/her family. The family of God is the household of God. Eph.2:18-22.
* God treats his body differently Gal.6:19. For example, the church has forgiveness of sins.
* There's no personal salvation. Christ came for us all John 3:16, 2 Cor.5:17-19, John 1:29, 1 John 2:1-2, Eph.1:3
*Gal.3:27, Eph.4:4-6 we are saved together, therefore, we should be together as a church.

Text: 1 Corinthians 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Now let me take moment to remind you that you are not like Jephthah, Samuel, Barak, Samson, Gedeon, or the prophet like the prophets of the old… and this is why the echos of fellowship is loud in the New Testament.

1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son.

You have to remind yourself daily that you are born or the spirit and that Abba is your source.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

I will leave you with these scriptures today to remind you that you should live consciously by the spirit.

Don’t give in to the pressure of the flesh lest the Devil gain advantage of you.

Paul said…
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

So yes, we must advance and continue by faith and not based on what our physical eyes can see because Abba is our source.

Our Fellowship: Partnership, communion, communication… is with the Father and with His son.

1 John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

So we must consciously continue in the Spirt and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lust.

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Stay in fellowship and keep reminding yourself that Abba is your source and that your experience don’t define you but His word does.

1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Stay with the word, not your feelings or your experiences. Trust God and trust His word

Continue in prayer
Stay in Fellowship
Experience Gods word come to pass in your life daily.

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and not yours.

The church is the church of Jesus Christ. The church(ekklesia) are a people called out of darkness into light 1 Pet.2:9.
The church is sanctified because she is in Christ. It's only in Jesus Christ there is sanctification.
The church is the assembly of the firstborn 1 Cor.5:4, 11:17-20, 34, 1 Cor.14:23. The church must gather.
1 Cor.1:1-2 The church is a people who are called into a vocation(to proclaim His marvelous light). Therefore, we must walk worthy of our vocation.
In 1 Cor 6:17, paul implies union with the Lord as one Spirit. Gen. 2:21-24, Matt. 19:3-6 Moses' explanation of union of a man and a wife to become one flesh is referring to the union with God and man to become one spirit. This is the born again process. To be born again is to be born of the Spirit John3:6.
As a church, you must train yourself to spiritual truths. Always know you are born of the spirit, whether you feel like it or not. That's why the spirit must be fed and trained daily. You are transformed daily by fellowship.
In the gathering of the church there are instructions and directions.

The rich young ruler had no treasure in heaven. He asked Jesus what he needs to do to be saved, but his heart was not in the kingdom that is why he was sad when he was told to sell off all his possessions. His confidence was in his riches and not the kingdom.
*The only way to follow Jesus is to recognise who He is and nit what you want from Him.
* To follow Jesus, you must be a disciple of His character, word and message (gospel) Luke 2:46-47. Jesus had the character of learning and teaching Matthew 4:23.
* For you to be a disciple of Jesus, you must be about the Passion, vision and mission of Christ Luke 19:10, 9:56. Jesus' passion is to SEEK a d to SAVE. John 10:10, Matthew 1:21.
Jesus' passion is about the message of salvation Luke 1:69-79.

NOTE, to be a follower of Jesus Christ, you must be given to learning ( be a disciple).
