PORT HARCOURT WEST CONFERENCE HOSTS ONE DAY TRAINING FOR CHAPLAINS, INAUGURATES CHAPLAINCY MINISTRIES FOR GREATER IMPACT.
To God be the glory as the Port Harcourt West Conference officially inaugurated the Chaplaincy Ministries Department during the One Day Training Session for Chaplains at SDA Church Rumuepirikom.
The impactful programme brought together chaplains and church leaders who were charged to take the gospel beyond the walls of the church into hospitals, schools, correctional centres, security agencies and other mission fields where hope is greatly needed.
During the devotional session, the Executive Secretary of PHWC, Pr. Alvin Ikeocha, encouraged chaplains to remain faithful to their divine calling and service.
The President of PHWC, Pr. Solomon Okonu, passionately urged chaplains to enlarge their outreach and continue touching lives through compassionate ministry and intentional presence in difficult environments.
Speaking during his presentation, the Chaplaincy Director, Pr. Precious Anyado, emphasized that chaplaincy is about taking the Word beyond the four corners of the church, listening more, speaking less and standing with people during moments of pain and uncertainty.
Delivering a profound presentation from Matthew 25:35–45, Guest Speaker, Pr. Ugochukwu L. Ahiamadu, described chaplains as “agents of comfort and reconciliation” called to minister to the wounded emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially. He reminded participants that chaplaincy is about meeting people where they are and leaving them better. Also, Eld. Gbasam shared practical insights that every Chaplain must apply.
The session climaxed with the official inauguration conducted by PHWC Treasurer, Pr. Tombari Kpenu, who charged the chaplains to serve faithfully and concluded with a solemn prayer of dedication.
Indeed, PHWC Chaplaincy Ministries has been launched with a clear mission; bringing hope, healing, comfort and Christ-centered care to humanity.
To God be all the glory.
