TOPIC: BLESSING INDEED.

SCRIPTURE: And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Blessing indeed is the dimension of divine life that money cannot buy.

Blessing is not the same as “Blessing indeed.” Jabez did not just say, “Bless me,” rather, he says “Bless me indeed.” This reveals a higher dimension of blessing that goes beyond material supply and financial increase.

Ordinary blessings may refer to resources, provisions, and material additions, and Scripture confirms this in Proverbs 10:22 that the blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. Yet blessing indeed goes deeper. It is not limited to what money can afford or what human systems can supply.

Blessing indeed is the dimension of God’s life manifested in a man. It is the reality of carrying what money cannot purchase and what human effort cannot manufacture. A man can have resources and still lack blessing indeed.

One of the highest manifestations of the blessing indeed is the Presence of God. When Jabez said, ...that Thy hand might be with me..., he was asking for God’s Presence, because the Hand of God represents His active involvement in a man’s life.

In Genesis 39:2 and 39:21, the Lord was with Joseph, and he became prosperous. God’s Presence brought mercy, favour, and distinction to Joseph even in slavery and imprisonment.

This shows that the Presence of God is not emptiness but fullness and abundance.

Exodus 33:14 shows us that God’s Presence guarantees rest: My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Rest is not inactivity, but the absence of struggle. When God is with a man, unnecessary battles are removed from his life.
Jabez’s life was defined by sorrow, but he desired peace and rest. A man may have wealth and still lack peace, but the blessing indeed brings the atmosphere of peace.

We see this from Solomon’s experience in 1 Kings 5:4 – rest on every side, no adversary, no evil occurrence. This is divinely ordered peace, not human-managed stability.

Another dimension of the blessing indeed is the Hand of the Lord. The Hand of God represents divine ability, backing, and enforcement in human affairs.

When the Hand of God is upon a man, limitations give way and human resistance becomes irrelevant. In Ezra 7:6, the king granted Ezra all his requests according to the Hand of the Lord upon Ezra’s life. Divine backing can influence human systems and decisions.

The Hand of God makes ordinary men produce extraordinary results in life. The Hand of the Lord releases favour, access, and results beyond negotiation.

Beloved, blessing indeed is not just what is in your hand; it is what is upon your life. When God is with a man, such a man is loaded with Divine Presence, peace, favour, preservation, and authority.

REMEMBER THIS: Blessing indeed is the dimension of divine life that money cannot buy.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Seek God daily for His Presence above material things and ask for the Blessing of His Hand upon your life.

2. Intentionally pursue a life of peace by yielding every anxiety and care to God in prayer and trust.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for teaching me the meaning of blessing indeed. I receive Your Presence, Your peace, and Your Hand upon my life. Let my life reflect Your backing, causing every area of struggle to turn into rest, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF A LYING TONGUE

SCRIPTURE: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The seed of a lie may produce the harvest of death.

Studies have revealed that many people have died needless death at the frequency of lies and false impressions.

People have died for saying the wrong thing. That is why you should be careful how you speak.

Our anchor scripture says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue. One of the negative character traits that has destroyed many destinies is lying and the creation of false impressions.

A clear example was the Amalekite who claimed that he killed Saul even though Saul committed su***de in battle. When the Philistines pressed hard upon him, he fell upon his own sword and died.

Then this Amalekite chanced upon Saul, removed Saul’s crown and weapon, and came to lie to David, thinking he was bringing good news to David.

He told David something like, “I saw that the battle was too hot for Saul, and I knew he would not survive, so I slew him"(2 Samuel 1:10). It was a lie. What surprised him was David's reaction. Instead of celebrating the death of a man who had pursued him for years, David wept, mourned, fasted, and tore his clothes. After weeping, when his eyes had cleared, David asked the young man where he was from. When he identified himself as an Amalekite, David asked him, "How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?" (2 Samuel 1:14).

Immediately, David commanded one of his young men to execute the Amalekite. Scripture says in 2 Samuel 1:15–16, And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died. And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.

You see, the Amalekite died a needless death at the frequency of lies and false impressions. His own mouth testified against him. He died because he said the wrong thing.

It has been confirmed that if you want preservation in life and destiny, you must walk in truth. Refuse deceit, exaggeration, and false representation.

Do not stretch a story to make it look more exciting. Many people have destroyed opportunities, relationships, and destinies because of lies.

The seed of a lie may produce the harvest of death. God says in Psalm 101:7, He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

Beloved, if you desire a future and a destiny, avoid lying. Do not speak to create an impression; speak to give expression.

REMEMBER THIS: The seed of a lie may produce the harvest of death.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse every form of lying and false representation.

2. Always speak the truth, even when it is uncomfortable.

3. Avoid exaggeration and the desire to create false impressions before people.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from every form of deceit and falsehood. Help me to walk in truth and integrity so my life and destiny can be preserved, Lord, in Jesus' Name.

TOPIC: THE GRACE ADVANTAGE

SCRIPTURE: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain...1 Corinthians 15:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The difference between many children of God is the dimension of grace they walk in.

The Scripture makes it clear that one of the major differences among children of God is the dimension of grace in which they operate. Grace is not manifested at the same level in every believer.

Grace is in different levels or degrees. There is grace; there is great grace; there is exceeding grace, and there is multiplied grace. That is why the Scripture admonishes us to grow in grace (2 Peter 3:18).

The Apostle Paul understood the power of grace when he declared, By the grace of God I am what I am (1 Corinthians 15:10). The difference between Paul and the other apostles was the dimension of grace at work in his life. That is why whenever you admire the results, impact, or exploits in the life of any servant of God, what you are really admiring is the grace of God at work in that person’s life.
Now, what is grace?

Grace has been defined as God's riches at Christ's expense. It is God’s unmerited, undeserved favour. It is also God's seal of approval and acceptance through the sacrifice of Christ.

In today’s study, we shall look at a few things grace has to offer, among many others.

1. Grace is the grease for ease. Where grace is at work, difficult things become easy. Anywhere you see a man finding it so easy in life and in everything, grace is at work. (Zechariah 4:7).

2. Grace is the vehicle for speed. For example, Paul the apostle was the latecomer who became the frontliner by grace. Grace is the mystery of the over-taker.

3. Grace is the fertiliser of the great. It is grace that produces greatness. Where grace is lacking, it is possible to die in smallness.

4. Grace unlocks gifts. When you hear, “This man is highly en-graced.” The meaning is that the person is highly gifted. And “He carries grace” means he carries gifts. Whether prophetic, pastoral, teaching, leadership, administrative or business gifts, grace pulls them out. (Romans 12:6).

5. Grace is the fuel for power. The flow of grace is the flow of power.
To be graceless is to be powerless. In other words, great power equals great grace. The level of grace you carry determines the level of power you walk in (Acts 4:33).

6. Grace is the transmitter of favour. Where a person finds grace, he has found favour. Noah found grace and escaped destruction, so he couldn’t be destroyed with the rest. Joseph found grace and rose to leadership.

Esther found grace and became queen. Wherever grace appears, favour follows.

Beloved, the level of grace you carry determines the level of ease, speed, greatness, gifts, power, and favour you experience in life. So, grace is God's unmerited and undeserved favour.

REMEMBER THIS: The difference between many children of God is the dimension of grace they walk in.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make a deliberate decision to grow continually in grace.

2. Depend on God's grace rather than human strength.

3. Ask God to increase His grace upon your life.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the riches of Your grace. Increase Your grace upon my life, and let me experience greater ease, speed, power, favour and impact, Lord, in Jesus' Name.
