TODAY'S BIBLE READING:1 Thessalonians 4
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: 1 Thessalonians 4:9 (KJV)
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another
TODAY'S TOPIC: YOU ARE TAUGHT OF GOD TO LOVE
God did not just save you and abandon you to fend for yourself. He is still involved in your growth and spiritual progress. You are God's responsibility, he is still raising you up as his offspring. Your spiritual upbringing is of great concern to God. You are still being taught of the Lord through his Spirit that abides and works in you. One of the major things you are taught of God is to walk in love. Our scripture implies you are taught of God to love one another. God trains his children to walk in love. The same love God has for you, has also been deposited in your heart. You have the ability to function in his love. God's love compelled him to give his son Jesus to the world. That same love will compel you to give your best to the benefit of gospel. Submitting to the training in God's love will produce a life sold out to Christ. Being trained in God's love is the cure for selfishness. The kingdom of God becomes first priority to the one who has yielded to God's love. The love walk affects our fellowship with fellow brethren; our service to God and also our response to evangelize our world. You are taught of God to walk in a self giving and self sacrificing love.
TODAY'S CONFESSION
The Love of God is in my heart. I am a recipient and also a trainee in God's love. God's love compels me to reach my world with the gospel. I yield to the self giving and self sacrificing love today.
