Topic: Principles of financial breakthrough and success
Text: 2 kings 4:1-7
Introduction: Every thing you need to succeed in life is within you and around you. It is not far fetched from you, just that your eyes have not been open for the opportunity to see it and maximize it. The widow, the late prophet wife that served Elisha ran to Prophet Elisha to help her solve the problem of debt that her late husband incurred while he was alive. The creditors have come to carry her two children for slavery as a result of his inability to pay off his debt.
However, the prophet asked the widow what do you have? Probably she thought that the prophet would pray for her for provision to pay off her husband's debt or give her the money she needed to settle his debt.Rather, the prophet asked her what do you have? She replied I don't have nothing but a jar of oil. The prophet replied to her, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors empty vessels; do not gather just a few.
Many want to experience financial breakthrough and financial independence. The question is what do you have? What do you have within you or around you that can move you into your next level. Some of you have a skill, trade, degree, certificate, relationship, talents, and gifts that you can use to change your financial and career life. Some of you have social networks, time, value, integrity and character that you can maximize to attract financial blessings to you.
What will take you to your next level of financial prosperity and success is already within you and around you. Stop looking away from it at a distance.It is closer to you.Refused the scarcity mentality that you don't have. There are vast opportunities around the world that can change your financial life especially in this age of Internet.You have talents, gifts, skills, relationships, degrees and certificates you can leverage on to experience financial breakthrough and turnaround in your life.
The prophet Elijah gave her an instruction that when she had gathered the vessels, shut the door behind you and your sons and pour the oil into all those vessels. When she did, the oil multiplied in all the vessels and there were no more vessels for the oil to keep multiplying so the oil ceased. She came to the man of God and he told her, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."
The lesson learnt is this woman never knew like many of us that what will bring her out of debt and financial crisis was already in her house. Yet she was running helter skelter to look for help. She had a jar of oil all along in her house but she never saw the potential of that oil until the prophet opened her eyes to see it and she took advantage of it to change her financial life. I pray that you will see the vast stores of resources within you that you can use to change your financial life.May God open your eyes to see it.
Two windows had an encounter with two prophets on two different occasions when they had a crisis in their lives. One was told to use the jar of oil she had to come out of her financial debt. The other was told to give her last meal to the prophet that she wanted to eat with her son and die because of the famine in the land but she obeyed the words of the prophet and the meal multiply in her house until God sent rain during the famine. Listen to the prophetic instructions from your man of God and sow into his life and ministry to provoke divine intervention in your life.
Learn another lesson do not go to a man of God asking him for money to help you solve your financial crisis. That does not mean that if he is led on his own to give to you, he cannot give. Go to him to hear the word of God from him on how you can come out of financial crisis. Don't seek for his money rather seek for the anointing upon his life and wisdom that flows from his lips to bring you out of financial debt.If you go for his money and not the anointing upon him, you will still be broke. If you go for the anointing on his life, you will come out of that financial crisis in your life.
Beloved, you have what it takes to change your financial life in hard times. You have skills, trade, talents, degrees, relationships, time and certificates. All you need to do is to recognize it, develop it, turn it into commercial value to exchange it with money and pray to God to put his blessing on it and you will come out of that financial crisis and experience financial breakthrough and freedom in your life.

I. Recognize it. Be aware of what you have that has financial potentials to change your life
2. Refused the scarcity mentality that you don't have nothing to move you out of financial crisis. There is more abundance in the world. Develop the abundance mentality to attract financial opportunities, not the scarcity mentality that blinds your eyes to opportunities.
3. Develop it through knowledge and skill
4. Turn it into a commercial value
5. Sell it to those that needs your products or services.
6. Pray for the blessing of God to rest upon it to prosper.
7. Use it and pay your debt.
8. Use the remaining for your personal needs and get an investment to keep the financial flow coming.
Conclusion: You have what it takes within you and around you to change your financial life. God needs a point of contact from you to bless you. He needs your skills, talents, trade, degree, certificate, relationship etc to put his blessing on it to bless you. God will bless the works of your hands. He will not bless you if you are not doing anything. God's contact point for supernatural supplies and provisions are always around you, but you hardly recognize them.
I pray that your eyes will be open to see the opportunities around you that can change your life for ever.
