💧 What Is Baptism?
Baptism is a public act of faith in which a person who has believed in Jesus Christ is immersed in water and then raised from it. It symbolizes dying to the old life, being buried with Christ, and rising to live a new life with Him.
📖 Romans 6:4 — “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead… even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
🙏 Why Do We Need Baptism?
1. Jesus commanded it.
Jesus told His disciples to make disciples and baptize them.
📖 Matthew 28:19–20
2. It identifies us publicly with Christ.
Baptism declares, “I belong to Jesus.”
3. It represents repentance and a new life.
It is an outward expression of an inward transformation.
📖 Acts 2:38 — Peter called people to repent and be baptized.
4. Jesus Himself was baptized.
Jesus was baptized by John, setting an important example for His followers.
📖 Matthew 3:13–17
⏰ When Should You Be Baptized?
Biblically, baptism follows repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Once a person genuinely believes in Christ and decides to follow Him, they should not unnecessarily delay baptism.
We see this pattern in Acts 2:41, Acts 8:36–38, and Acts 10:44–48.
So, baptism is not something you do to earn salvation. Rather, it is an act of obedience and identification with the Christ you have believed in.
📖 Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that salvation is by grace through faith, not by works.
🔥 In Simple Words
Believe in Jesus → Repent → Follow Him → Be baptized → Live the new life.
Baptism is more than getting into water. It is a declaration that the old life has been surrendered and you are choosing to walk with Christ. 🙏
