UNDERSTANDING DESTINY.

*MEDITATE* :
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” - (Ephesians 1:4)

TODAY'S BIBLE READING:
Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

*REVIEW* :
Destiny simply means the plan of God for a person’s life. In other words, it is the purpose of God for a person’s life. In Jeremiah 1:5, God said: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God is a builder (Psalm 127:1). Like every builder, He works according to a plan. He doesn’t begin to build until the plan is ready. Thus before He formed you, before your father met your mother, God had a plan for your life. The good news is that the plan is a good one (Jeremiah 29:11).

Now, you may think, “If God had a good plan in store for all human beings, then why do some end up badly?” This happens because no matter how good God’s plan for you is, if you say you don’t want it, He will not force it on you. Romans 8:31 says:
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

That question wasn’t answered in the Bible; however, the clear answer is “YOU”. Even if God is for you, you can be against yourself. How can you be against yourself? Proverbs 22:29 says it is only the diligent that will stand before kings. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 tells us that it is only those who are obedient that will be blessed by God.

If you decide to look into Scriptures for all the people who fulfilled their destiny, you will find out that they have these things in common. Joseph was a very hard-working boy - so hard-working that it wasn’t long after he got to Potiphar’s house that his master put him in charge of all his possessions. The boy also lived holy. When Potiphar’s wife made advances at him, he said he could not sleep with her and sin against his God. Diligence and holiness. Believe me honestly, if you live holy and refuse to be lazy, you will have fulfilled destiny.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." - (Acts 1:8)

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING:*
ACTS 1:12-14 (KJV)

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

*REVIEW* :
The first time the Holy Ghost came to dwell in man was on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-12. Jesus had told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they received the Holy Ghost (Luke 24:49). The day of Pentecost and the events that followed defined Christianity forever. If only there could be a repeat of that day in churches all over the world; oh, what a revival that will be. There was a similar experience in Azusa, USA, in 1906, and up until today, people are still talking about that revival. For the next few days, we will be examining what happened on the day of Pentecost and the implications of the events of that day.

One major thing you must note is that the disciples were in an upper room - they were separated from the rest of the world. While everyone around them was enjoying the Passover feast, they were in a different realm, praying, fasting, and yearning to go deeper in the Lord. If we are to experience a repeat of that day, Christians must learn to live separately from the world (2 Corinthians 6:14).

You cannot be engrossed in the pursuit of material things like the rest of the world and expect the Holy Spirit to descend on you and manifest through you as He did on the day of Pentecost. You cannot expect to carry the power of the Holy Ghost when your eyes are focused on worldly things. What you behold is what you will eventually become (2 Corinthians 3:18). You cannot love the world and claim to also love God (1 John 2:15). You cannot keep listening to worldly music and expect to be filled with the Holy Spirit. What you listen to greatly impacts your life, and faith comes by hearing God's word (Romans 10:17).

In the upper room, the disciples were not distracted by mundane things. Their eyes, representing their focus, were single, causing them to be filled with light (Matthew 6:22). Their desire was to wait for the promise of the Father, and they did this wholeheartedly. To receive and manifest the Holy Spirit's power, you must seek God wholeheartedly.

Only those who seek God with all their hearts and souls find Him (Deuteronomy 4:29). Only those who separate themselves from sin and distractions will receive the Holy Spirit's power, like on the day of Pentecost. Beloved, God wants you to be separate because you are His (2 Corinthians 6:17) and not of this world (John 15:19).

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.” - (2 Timothy 2:20)

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING:*
EZRA 1:1-11 (KJV)

1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

4 And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

6 And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.

7 Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;

8 Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

9 And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,

10 Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.

11 All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

*REVIEW* :
Today's memory verse tells us that there are vessels unto honour and unto dishonour in a great man's house. God will always find something to use people for; He will use His children as vessels unto honour, while those who refuse to live a holy life will be used as vessels unto dishonour.

Some year ago, a well known Pastor in the visinity was driving to church to minister to some sick persons, He got stuck in a terrible traffic jam. After a while, He noticed a side of the road that was free of traffic, and He moved his car there. Unknown to him, there was a rule that vehicles could only drive on that side of the road after 10am, and that's why it was free. Some policemen stopped His car and said, "Don't you know that you can only pass here from 10am?" He told them, He didn't know and that He was sorry. He introduced himself as a Pastor, hurrying to go and pray for the sick. They said, "Well, you know what to do." He knew they were expecting a bribe, but as a child of God, He couldn't do it. Therefore, they said, "You will wait here until 10am before we let you go." As He waited, some street boys who were some distance away recognised him, and one of them said, "That is Pastor. It seems the policemen are harassing him; let's go and help him." When the policemen saw them approaching, they left him and hurried away. In that situation, God used the street boys to threaten the policemen into letting him go.

When God wanted to free His people from Babylon, He used Cyrus, an unbelieving ruler. Long before his birth, Isaiah had prophesied about him and the part he would play in the freedom of God's people (Isaiah 44:28, Isaiah 45:1-5). God can use unbelievers to do His will; however, such unbelievers will still end up in hell if they do not surrender to Christ, as all sinners will end up in hell.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

Beloved, surrender your life to Christ if you are not yet born again and begin to live a holy life so that God can use you as a vessel unto honour and not unto dishonour.

JEREMIAH 1:4-10 (KJV)

4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

*REVIEW* :
Many believers fail to share the gospel because of fear. The key to overcoming this, however, is to ask God for boldness and wisdom for each unique occasion.

A minister of the gospel while flying first class, sat next to a man who one could tell was very rich from his appearance. He really wanted to tell him about Jesus, but was afraid he wouldn't listen because he would think that he was above such things. Therefore, he decided to go about it with wisdom. He said, "Sir, I'd love to introduce you to my Father." He asked, "Who is your Father?" "He responded, My Father is a great chief. He's into oil and gas, and He does some silver, gold, and diamonds. He also has a big farm with thousands of cattle." Then he asked, "How come I don't know him? What's your father's name?" He knew that if he said Jesus at that stage, he might lose Him, so he said, "My Father's name is Chief Emmanuel." That got his attention, and he was able to share the gospel with him.

When God called young Jeremiah to preach to the rebellious children of Israel, He instructed him not to be afraid of their faces. The same God is with you when you go out to tell others about Jesus' love. He has given you His Spirit to teach you what to say, just as He taught that Pastor on that flight. No matter how tough-faced or uninterested people may look, don't look at their faces; focus on the One who sent you and deliver His message to them. There is an African adage that says, you shouldn't fear the one you are delivering a message to, but the one who sent you to deliver the message. Don't allow the fear of men prevent you from preaching the gospel. Keep your eyes on God, do as He has commanded all believers (Matthew 28:18-19), and leave the conviction and conversion to Him.

Once God is with you, nothing else matters. He'll teach you what to say and how to say it. Preaching the gospel is not about how excellently you can speak and quote the Scriptures but the demonstration of the Spirit and of power (1 Corinthians 2:4).

Beloved, surrender your life to Jesus today if you haven't; He is the only way to salvation. If you have surrendered your life to Him, ensure you share the gospel with others; don't be afraid of their faces.

JESUS, KING FOREVER

MEDITATE:
“The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.” - (Psalm 10:16)

TODAY'S BIBLE READING:
PSALM 29:10-11 (KJV)

10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.

11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

MESSAGE:
God wasn't enthroned; therefore, nobody can dethrone Him. The devil once tried, but he was kicked out of heaven (Revelation 12:9). God is King, and He is King forever.

When I say that God is king, I mean that He is King over all earthly kings. No matter how powerful a king is and no matter how much he has achieved, God is greater than him. In Daniel 4:1-37, Nebuchadnezzar thought that he could take the glory that belonged to God. God made him eat grass for seven years, and when he came back to his senses, he said, "God is the Almighty."

If you are a king in your own right, whether in your organisation, family, state, or wherever, your reign is only temporary. You should submit to the One who is King forever if you want to have a good and memorable reign. David submitted to God, and up until today, Israel still recognises him as their greatest king ever.

Some years ago, a minister of gospel was invited to dedicate a church national headquarters in a particular country. In that country, government permits are required before hosting dedication ceremonies, so the church applied for a permit. However, a man in the government was determined to stop the dedication. He said, "I have heard about this church of a thing. You plan to convert everyone and build churches everywhere; that will not work here." The church leaders alerted the minister about the situation, and to be honest, no prayer was made, but the day the man was to attend a meeting to conclude that the dedication wouldn't be allowed to take place, as he was dressing up, he accidentally put both of his legs into the same trouser hole. He struggled to free his legs but fell, hit his head on the edge of his bed, and was rushed to the hospital. He eventually died with both of his legs still in the same trouser hole. Nobody possesses greater power than God; when He decides to do something, it is better to cooperate with Him because He cannot be stopped.

Jesus is King forever, and all power belongs to Him. All souls are His (Ezekiel 18:4), including yours, and He wants you to surrender what belongs to Him. You belong to the King, and it is a blessed thing to belong to Him because you will automatically have access to all that He has.

*MIGHTY IN BATTLE*

**MEDITATE* * :
“Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.” - (Psalm 24:8)

*TODAY'S BIBLE *READING* :
2 CHRONICLES 20:1-30 (KJV)

1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.

3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not your's, but God's.

16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.

27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.

28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD.

29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.

30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.

*REVIEW* :
In Psalm 24:7-10, God is described as the King of glory, the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, and the Lord of hosts. In Psalm 107:20, the Bible says that He sent His word to deliver the Israelites from their troubles. It doesn't matter how big the opposition you are facing is, the One who is mighty in battle will give you a great victory.

Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In John 8:32, He said that you shall know the truth, and it shall make you free. If you are facing an enemy that appears to be greater than you, my advice is that you surrender your life completely to Jesus now. Once He makes you free, you are free indeed, and no one can oppress you again. In Luke 11:21-22, He said that the only way anyone can steal the goods of a strong man is if he or she is stronger. Since there is no one stronger than God, once you are surrendered to Him and have become His child, no one can take you from Him. This is why Jesus said in John 10:29:

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

In today's Bible reading, when Jehoshaphat was attacked on every side by the Ammonites, the Moabites, and the inhabitants of Mount Seir, he called on the One who is mighty in battle. The instruction he received was, "Just praise me," and he obeyed. He and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem and Judah fell before the Mighty Man in battle in worship. Nobody escaped after the Mighty Man in battle set Jehoshaphat's enemies against one another. All Jehoshaphat and his men had to do was gather abundant spoils because the Lord made them rejoice over their enemies. I decree today that any gang or group that comes to attack you will help to utterly destroy one another; the Mighty One in battle will set your enemies against themselves, in Jesus' name. In the name above every other name, none of your enemies will escape the sword of the Mighty One in battle.

Beloved, surrender totally to Jesus today if you are yet to do so. He is the Almighty, and He never loses a war. When you surrender, you give Him room to fight your battles for you, just as He fought Jehoshaphat's and gave him victory.

*THE UNLIMITED HEALER*

*MEDITATE*
“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” - (Psalm 103:3)

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING*
: LUKE 4:37-40 (KJV)

37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

*REVIEW* :
God is the Unlimited Healer. In Exodus 15:26, He said, "...I am the Lord that healeth thee." The Bible says that He sent His word and healed them (Psalm 107:20). He is the God of all flesh, and nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27). Some diseases are termed incurable, but for God, no disease is incurable. Even if a damaged body part is deemed irreparable, He can replace it. While earthly physicians refer cases to each other when they cannot handle them, the Unlimited Healer never refers a case - He is a specialist in all fields of medicine.

Years ago, a wealthy chief, who became paralysed from the waist downwards, was taken to the best hospital in London. After trying their best and he didn't get better, the doctors gave up. To prove the hopelessness of his case, the head surgeon drove a long pin through the chief's thigh, and when the latter felt no pain, he told him, "Go home, stop wasting your money on medics, you will never walk again." The chief was taken back home, and a young girl, who is a believer, witnessed to him and said, "If you can get to my Pastor, Jesus will make you walk again." The chief was brought to the Church. The Pastor told him, God can change the doctors' report and that if he surrendered his life to Jesus, things would change. He surrendered his life to Jesus, prayer was made for him and he walked back to his car! What renowned medical specialists termed impossible took God only a few seconds to fix!

We've seen God turn hopeless cases into great testimonies. We've seen Him step into sorrowful rooms as a result of the death of loved ones and turn them into places of joy and laughter. We've seen Him do the impossible, and your case will not be different; just believe in Him because all things are possible to him that believes (Mark 9:23). He turned around the 12-year-old case of the woman with the issue of blood in a second (Luke 8:44). Lazarus' four-day-old dead body didn't take him hours to resurrect back to life (John 11:43-44). The man at the pool of Bethesda with the 38-year-old infirmity received instant healing (John 5:1-9). If you have any sicknesses or diseases in your body, I pray that the Unlimited Healer will step in and turn things around immediately in your favor, in Jesus' name.
