Subject: WHEN MATERIAL QUEST SHALL NO LONGER COUNT.

RECALL VERSE: Matt 16:26.

"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his sou?"

First, materialism is a mirage. Everything anyone has ever piled up will melt away.

Why is it so hard to realize that "The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire?" (2Pet 3:10,12).

That shiny new car, newly acquired house, dishwasher, efficient ridding lawn mower, fat bank deposit - it will all melt away someday. And there is nothing we can do to prevent them from melting along.

Since everything is going to be destroyed, how then ought we to live?

I read the story of a certain rich man's death where a Mosey guest asked the dead man's friend,
"How much would you say he left behind?"
The friend answered,
"Everything."
How true!
If the Lord comes it all melts, and if you die first, all goes back into the box. Like the end of a monopoly game, you can't take it with you.

The ungodly quest, especially amongst the youth populace of the present age is a serious call for concern. Ungodly quest for material things is like a drink that never satisfies. If you ask the man earning N800,000,00 a year how much it will take to satisfy him, he will say, One Million. Ask the man earning One Million per annum, he will say, Two Million. On and on the quest goes.

For a life built on the acquisition of material wealth only is never satisfied. It is like drinking salt water. The more you drink, the thirstier you get. Materialistic living is a mirage that promises satisfaction it never can deliver.

Set your priorities right. Should God bless you with the material things of this life, don't let them become your little gods, that you forget the Giver. Set your affection on things above. "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also," (Mtt 6:21).

Subject: GOD STAND WITH THOSE WHO STAND FOR HIM.

RECALL VERSE: Matt 16:25.
"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

REF TEXT: Dan 3:1-30.

As a Christian, sometimes having a job means having to make some ethical choices. For instance, your employer may ask you to do something that is wrong and then tell you that it's not optional. You have to decide whether you're going to go through it. This situation is similar to the one in which Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego find themselves. They each have an important job in the Babylonian Government, and they too have a big decision to make. But the consequence they face for upsetting their boss is serious - a decision to do what is right here means death. As you read, determine whether their actions are foolish or courageous. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had been ordered to bow down and worship a statue, but they refused. To worship the image would violate God's command in Exodus 20:3, "Do not worship any gods beside me."

When threatened with ex*****on, they still refused. Then they were given one more chance (Dan 3:15). At that point they could have used any number of excuses for bowing to the image to save their lives - "It's just one time." "We had no choice," "It's just a Babylonian custom; when you're in Rome, do as the Romans do." "After all it isn't so bad." "We are not hurting anybody." "We can always say we did it against our will." But instead of making excuses, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego simply obeyed God. The outcome of their courageous decision lay with God, so that is where they left it.

Don't make excuses for wrong choices. Like these three young brethren, have the courage to do what is right. know that God is pleased with your obedience. And trust Him to work out the best for the situation.

I refuse to be persuaded or coerced to go against God's clear precepts, not for whatever personal gains.

SUBJECT:
The Universality Of Salvation.

RECALL VERSE: Titus 2:11.
"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men."

REF TEXT: Romans 5:7-8.

On the cross, the salvation work of Jesus Christ made atonement for all the sins of humanity. The Hebrew word for atonement (Kapar) means "to cover."

In the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament, the blood of an animal was sprinkled over the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the covenant as a covering for the sins of the people. The Mercy Seat was the place where propitiation - the satisfaction of the righteousness and justice of God was portrayed. This animal sacrifice was a foreshadowing of the future efficacious sacrifice of Christ for all mankind.

In the New Testament, the Greek word for "propitiation" is (Hilasterion), and means "Mercy Seat" in Romans 3:25 and Hebrews 9:5,11-12. God's righteousness and justice were satisfied by the "blood of Jesus Christ" on the cross. His salvation work covers the sins of all mankind.

It was at Calvary that operational grace was obtained and extended to all men. No member of the human race is left out. Christ has paid the price for the total cancellation of Adam's original sin which was genetically transfered to the entire human race. What stands against mankind now, is his personal sin of unbelieve. Not willing to believe and accept Christ sacrifice for the salvation of soul.

DECLARATION!
Lord Jesus, I believe You died for the salvation of mankind. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour forever.

THE SUFFICIENCY OF HIS GRACE.

RECALL VERSE: 2Cor 12:9.
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Ref Text: 2 Corinthians 12:1-10.

One thing is for us to pray. It's another altogether how God chooses to answer.

The life of Patricia St. John was an extraordinary one. She was an extraordinary woman with extraordinary faith. She would later in life pour out her life ministering to people in the neediest places on our planet earth.

She was in wartorn Sudan when war refugees flooded that country. They had suffered terribly and had lost everything, yet those among them who were Christians still gave thanks to God. Patricia said that she stood one night in a crowded little Sudanese Church listening to those rooted believers singing joyfully. Suddenly, a life-changing insight burned its way into her heart.

"We would have changed their circumstances," she said, "but we would not have changed them."

She realized that God "does not always lift believers out of the situation. He Himself comes into the situation. He does not pluck them out of the darkness. He becomes the light in the darkness. He didn't stop the fiery furnace against the three Hebrew Aristocrats, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He was right there with them."

Does Patricia insight apply to your life? What if, despite your fervent prayers and fasting, God doesn't see fit to deliver you from a terrible circumstance?

In our Reference Text, apostle Paul had prayed fervently over a certain thorn. But rather than receiving his expected deliverance, he received grace to bear whatever thorn he was going through.

God's Words tells us that believers often suffers (Hebrew 11:35-38). Do not let trending unscriptural prosperity messages without suffering deceive you.

What then? God promise to stand by us in every situation of life. Do not fear the darkness that is gathering around. The Lord is with you. His grace is sufficient if that is what it will require for you to bear up with the situation.

GOD OF ENLARGEMENT.

RECALL VERSE: Deut 12:20

"When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee...,"

REF TEXT: Genesis 9:27

Happy New Month of May! Your month of enlightenment.

There is no doubt about it. Enlargement comes from the Almighty God.

From our Reference Text in Genesis 9:27 Japheth was the father of one of the Gentile world. His descendants being exceedingly prosperous and powerful, were active and enterprising, scattering far and wide over all of Europe and a considerable portion of Asia. This promise from God denoted outward prosperity as well as a victorious and abundant seed of descendants. They would be the masters, "the head" of all the tents of Shem. They would be endued with expansive powers from on high. Theirs would be the "double portion of blessing."

In 1 Chronicle 4:10 we read a prayer of Jabez - a man who was setting out in the world. He need God's blessings in his life in order to reverse the stigma of his name, which means, "one who causes pain." From the depths of his being, he cried out to the God of Israel. God heard and answered his petition by prospering his endeavor with a might increase, enlarging his heart and his portion in God. And enabling him to make a mighty mark for the God of Israel, bringing blessings into others instead of pain and sorrow.

Let this be a reminder to us that the God of Japheth and Jabez has not changed. Enlargement did not start and end with Japheth and Jabez. God still enlarges coasts and borders. And I'm next in line in this new month. What about you?

DECLARATION!
I believe the same God who did it for Japheth and Jabez will do even more for me and my descendants.

SERVICE OF A HUMBLE SOUL - pt 2

Ref Text: Ephesians 3:8
"Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach Christ among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;"

This is the conclusion of the immediate past DWS.

From his first sermon to his last, Paul preached Christ, and nothing but Christ. He lifted up the Cross, and extolled the Son of God who bled thereon. Let us follow his example in all our personal efforts to spread the glad tidings of Salvation, and let "Christ and Him crucified" be our recurring theme.

The Christian should be like those lovely spring flower which, when the sun is shining, open their golden cups, as if saying, "fill us with Thy beams!" But when the sun is hidden behind a cloud, they close their cups and droop their heads. So should the Christian feel the sweet influence of Jesus. Jesus must be his Sun, and he must be the flower which yield itself to the Sun of righteousness.

Oh! To speak of Christ alone, this is the subject which is both, "seed for the Sower, and bread for the eater." This is the live coal for the lip of the speaker, and the master key to the heart of the heater.

Declaration:
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. I will proclaim the glad tidings of Salvation to the lost world for as long as I live.

Study Title: THE VICTORIOUS FAITH.

"What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see."

Our relationship with God dating back Abraham started off with faith. Therefore, faith is the foundation for hope, resilience, and connection, enabling us to navigate challenges, trust in the unseen, and finding peace in life.

THE ABCD OF FAITH.

(1) LITTLE FAITH: Mk 4:31-32.

The size of our miracles is not dependent on the size of our faith. We can experience God's mighty acts, signs and wonders and still have little faith.

(2) GENUINE FAITH: Rom 5:1-2.

This faith is sincere and real; solid and unchanging. Not subject to human emotions.

(3) DEVELOPING FAITH: 2Pt 3:18.

We are expected to grow our faith. This is one of the reasons why God allow us go through certain fiery trials just so our faith can be developed.

(4) UNWAVERING FAITH: James 1:6.

Unwavering faith is steady; holding on to God's Word against every contradictions of life.

Victorious faith that guarantees fruitfulness and peace, demands: virtue, knowledge, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection and Christian love.

THE INFLUENCE OF NEGATIVE PECULIARITIES OF OUR LAND OF NATIVITY.

We are humans from different ethnic and tribal backgrounds. Each of these tribes is controlled by certain territorial demons which are responsible for the negative peculiarities associated with the behavioural characteristics of people from those tribes.

There are people in Nigeria whose tribes can be easily identified from the negative traits they exhibit. For example, if you mention people with EXCESSIVE love for money, they will quickly tell you the tribe. People that are given to abnormal inclination to promiscuity, have their own tribe. Love for "ogogoro" (dry gin) and drunkenness. Paying homage to "juju" (native charm) regardless of their Christian profession. Indulgence in demonic traditional festivities etc. These are general attributes of people from various tribes.

Even when they claim to be Born Again, they still find themselves slaves to these bandages courtesy of the territorial forces of darkness that bear rule over the spiritual atmosphere of their land of nativity.

Daniel Chapter 10 helps us understand that each kingdom, nation, clime of the earth is overseen by forces that gives them distinguished behavioural patterns, negative or positive.

For the extinction of Babylon and her succession by Medes and Persia physically, their spiritual territorial powers needed to be dethroned, first.

We know this from Angel Michael message to Daniel.

"Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the [hostile] prince of Persia; and when I have gone, behold, the [hostile] prince of Greece will come," (Dan 10:20 AMP).

SEQUENCES OF THE KINGDOMS:
Babylon, Medes/Persia, Greece and Roman Empire.
The natives of each of these kingdoms had their territorial spiritual forces of darkness that patterned their ways of lives and living.

Ever wondered why most Professors and Confessors of Christianity (who claim they're Born Again) are still slaves to the negative peculiarities of their land of nativity. They are still in bandage to the deleterious and pernicious conventions of their unbelieving people. Paying homage to the Tenets of their village ancestral traditions.

HEAR WHAT IS SAID ABOUT THE CRETAN CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS.

"One of their [very] number, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, hurtful beasts, idle and lazy gluttons.

And this account of them is [really] true. Because it is [true], rebuke them sharply [deal sternly, even severely with them], so that they may be sound in the faith and free from error," (Titus 1:12-13 AMP).

So, you find out that Believers from Crete were still in spiritual enchainment as they equally were still manifesting the evil attributes that they are generally known for even after Salvation.

The question is, 'can liars enter into the kingdom of God?'

"But cowards who turn away from me, and unbelievers, and the corrupt, and murderers, and the immoral, and those who practice witchcraft, and idol worshipers, and all liars--their doom is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death," (Rev 21:8 NLT).

"Therefore, come out from them and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you," (2Cor 6:17 NLT).

Shake off the trumpery dross, my dear Brethren in Christ.

"Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, rebuke and expose them," (Eph 5:11 NLT).
