I sat down with my Bible today, as I do every morning, and as I turned the pages, a wave of pure gratitude just washed over me. I am so profoundly thankful to God for the matchless gift of His Written Word.
It made me think of Psalm 23, specifically that breathtaking moment where David declares, โYou prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.โ
Have you ever wondered why He doesn't wait for the battle to quiet down before He feeds us?
In the ancient world, to be seated at the Kingโs table in front of your adversaries was a public declaration of covenant protection. It was a royal decree that meant: This one belongs to Me. You can watch him/her, but you cannot touch him/her.
Right now, the world is incredibly loud. The enemy loves to surround us with a relentless buffet of what ifs, anxiety, distraction, and the heavy weight of weariness. But right there, in the very middle of the battlefield, God pulls out a chair for you. He sets a Sacred table.
And the magnificent feast He serves? It is His Written Word.
Scripture reminds us that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. When we open these pages, we aren't just consuming information, we are stepping directly into the Sovereign Presence and Power of God. It is a GLORIOUS feast of Goodness, a Holy Sanctuary where He Anoints our weary minds and causes our peace to run over.
My dear brothers and sisters, if you are feeling surrounded by the enemy and cares of this life today, can I encourage you to pause?
Don't wait for the storm to pass to find your peace. Open your Bible. Pull up your chair right where you are, sit down, and feast with our Father. Taste and see the rich, sustaining Goodness He has so-lovingly prepared just for you, beloved.
What a beautiful reality that our safety and our nourishment proceed directly from the Mouth of God! ๐ค

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord."
