What really is Biblical covenant?
Covenants are contracts or agreement between two or more people. They can either be verbal or symbolic.
Purpose of covenants
1. God wants to have a dealing with mankind. Hebrews 13:20π
2. God intends to communicate with us through covenants.
3. It is by covenant that we are guaranteed eternal life.

*The Adamic covenant*
This refers to the covenants God made with Adam. The first covenant with Adam was made in the garden of Eden when God gave Adam responsibility of the garden. The second was the cursed pronounced against mankind after the fall of Adam.
*The Noahic covenant*
This refers to God's covenant with Noah. This covenant was made following the departure of Noah and his family from the ark. The token of this covenant was the rainbow.
*The Abrahamic covenant*
This is the covenant God has with Abraham. He personally promised He would make his name great and through him, he'd have multiple descendants and would be the father of many nations.
*The Palestinian covenant*
This is a covenant of discipline made between God and Israel. He promised to scatter them if they disobey Him and gather them back and restore if they choose to obey Him. One of the longest captivity was the Babylonian captivity.
*Davidic covenant*
This is God's covenant with David. How God promised to bless the family line of David and assured Him an everlasting Kingdom. Our Lord Jesus is from the line of David.
*Mosaic covenant*
The covenant with Moses was a conditional covenant. Blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience.
*The New covenant*
This covenant found in Jeremiah 31:31-34 promises God would forgive sin and have a close relationship with His people. Under this covenant, Jesus died in place of sinners and His blood is available as a token of covenant. This covenant offers a new way to forgiveness. This covenant is obtained by faith.
