Today we saw that God promised us a good and expected end, but never that we would not go through temptations in the midst of adversity and troubles. As believers, we are to have faith in the midst of temptations, knowing that we will emerge stronger.

DECISION AND DETERMINATION FOR GREATNESS 2 (2 CHRONICLES 26: 1 - 15)

In this topic, we’ll focus on individual greatness.
Nobody achieved greatness the day they were born. Every great individual was made as a result of decision and determination.

Proverbs 23: 7a made it clear that as a man thinks in his heart, so he is. The problem of every underachiever is poor thinking ability. Whatever you are today is a result of your thoughts. Thinking positively, making positive decisions and determinations can change and affect your unborn generation.

An American pilot named Amelia Earhart decided to be great. She abandoned her nursing job and took a strong decision and determination to go for something higher to make a name for herself. She decided to set speed and distance records for airplane flights. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean within thirteen hours and thirty minutes in the year 1932. She also broke other records and won special honours from the American and French governments.
Today, she is remembered worldwide for the landmark and legacy she has left. You can also be a history and image maker if you decide and determine for greatness.

From our Bible reading above, King Uzziah who started reigning at sixteen years was determined to be great by doing things his predecessors could not do.

You must fight strongly and defeat your obstacles before you can be great .
DON’T FORGET THAT GREATNESS IS ACHIEVED BY DECISION AND DETERMINATION.

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”

Today, we learnt that God as seen in creation believed and spoke, calling forth things that be not as though they were and we also who believe should speak having the same spirit of faith with God. Hallelujah!

DECISION AND DETERMINATION FOR GREATNESS (GENESIS 11 : 1 - 6)

God has given everyone a head, made up of the same biological components and working principles.
So, when different people come together in any group or organization according to their order of hierarchy of work or position, it means that greatness can easily be attained.
Everyone in your group or organization has potential qualities that are different from any other person in that group. We all have our individual input/role to play in a group.

In our Bible reading, the idea of the people when they saw a plain place in Shinar to build was from one person; one good head. There was no decision and no determination for greatness until they decided. They decided, they spoke it again with one another and agreed strongly on it. This made God to commend their agreement.

Note that nobody will make a name for you as an individual, a ministry, church or department unless you decide to make a name for yourself (yourselves) by doing what no person, ministry, church or department has done. This is only achievable by decision and determination.

If asked why we have not attained greatness as individuals, a ministry, church or department, it is because we have not decided and determined towards it.

If there is no decision and determination for greatness, there will be no growth or progress.

Every greatness starts with a decision which leads to determination.

What a word it was! A word of faith and show of power because faith is not begging, but a decree as we were taught today. We received words of proclamation and declaration in and through faith in the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!

COMPROMISE OVER EVIL AND UNAPPROVED ACTIVITIES IN THE CHURCH (NUMBERS 25 : 1- 13, 1 CORINTHIANS 5: 13)

God is pleased each time we defend His name by refusing ungodly and wicked activities in the church and by sanctioning those who practice evil. Also, He is not happy with those who defend evil and ungodly acts.

From the above Bible reading, Israel committed sin against God. They committed whoredom with the daughters of Moab, joined them to eat the things sacrificed to their gods and bowed to their gods too. God’s anger was kindled against Israel and He commanded Moses to hang all those involved.
While at it, another Israelite brought in a Midianitish woman into the camp, in the sight of Moses and all Israel, even as they were crying.
Out of zeal, a young man; Phinehas saw it, took a javelin and killed both the man and the woman. Immediately he did that, the anger of God seized and God was pleased with him. God also gave him a covenant of peace and priesthood which extended to his generation.

God does not move in a church where people compromise with sin to keep members.

The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 5 : 20 and Titus 1: 13 to sharply and openly discipline those who sin in the church so that others will learn. It also permits us to expel, suspend, rebuke, demote, etc. any wicked person/sinner from among the church depending on the offence.

Discipline is to the glory of God and He is pleased when it is done faithfully and sincerely. It shouldn’t be seen as hatred. It brings repentance and delivers the offender from danger and from the wrath of God. Therefore, let’s all join hands together to promote discipline in the church so that more godliness will reign.

What an awesome time we had in God’s presence today.

The word was uplifting as we were taken through the Faith Clinic and brought to an understanding of the mind of God for us regarding faith.

We are saved by grace through faith.

VALUE-PLACE CHARACTER (PROVERBS 15: 1- 3)

Life is an echo, it is the application of a formula. We get back what we give. The evil or good you give out depends on your character, value or value system of life.

A pleasing personality is easy to recognize but hard to define. It is evident in the way a person walks, talks, his tone of voice, the warmth in his behaviour and his positive level of confidence. So, you can say that a pleasing personality is a combination of a person's attitude, behavior and expressions.

Many people appear very good and sweet in their physical look or appearance but are deadly inside. To have a long lasting and winning personality, you must have both character and charisma.

Show regard to all but be intimate with a few who have been well tried and have earned your trust/confidence.

When you are good to others, you are best to yourself. Be it your thoughts, actions or behaviours, they return to you sooner or later with great accuracy.
So, treat people with respect on your way up because you will be meeting them on your way down.
