I grew up thinking my calling wasn’t authentic because I didn't have dramatic.l experiences.

I didn’t lose my job.
I didn’t run mad.
I wasn’t threatened with sickness or death.

So I felt like I had missed something.

I listened to people share how God had to shake them—through accidents, sickness, or near-death experiences—before they accepted their call. Others spoke about angelic visitations, supernatural encounters, and divine instructions that felt almost unreal. I once had a group of friends who every time we meet, will share how an angel walked into their room, ate with them and gave them a scroll. And amazingly, they had names for those angels. One had to ask me if God had drilled me before. I was utterly perplexed. I had none of that.

And because of it, I questioned the authenticity of my own calling.

Some day, I’ll share how deeply that affected me—until God began to separate me and teach me differently.

I’ve also heard people say they cried the day they gave their lives to Christ. I didn’t.

Others said God had to take someone they loved before they responded to Him. That wasn’t my story either.

I’m not trying to cancel anyone’s experience. But I need you to hear this:
Just because your calling didn't come with dramatic experiences doesn’t mean it isn’t authentic.

Not everyone will have a Damascus encounter like Paul.

Not everyone will hear God like Samuel.

Not everyone will see a burning bush like Moses.

For some, it starts quietly. It starts with a willingness to serve. It starts with saying “yes” in small places.

Nehemiah didn’t begin with fire from heaven—he volunteered himself. Yet his calling was just as valid as Paul’s, Samuel’s, and Moses’.

This is the whole point of this post: You are called. Your calling is valid.
Your assignment is valid. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. And you don’t have to wait for a dramatic experience to believe or validate it.
