HAPPY NEW MONTH WISHES

Be happy because its the Month of happiness, hope, and love. This Month will add positively to your life rather than reduce your joy. I wish you a peace-filled New Month.

In life, there is a season for everything, a time to be sad and a time to be happy. I pray that this New Month brings to you more happiness and joy than you imagine.

This Month, expect to be victorious, expect to win, and expect to shine.
Welcome to a lovely New Month.

Cheers to a new Month and another chance for us to get it right.”

Questions to consider

Question 2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Question 5: Is there any warning for me to heed?

Topic: Be wise, He is coming!

In all cultures, wedding is a very joyous event and it hardly takes anyone by surprise because adequate time and preparation are usually given to it. Jesus likens the kingdom of Heaven to group of ten ladies (virgins or maidens) who participated in a wedding ceremony. What, according to vs.2-4 distinguished five of the women from the other five? Note that each lady had oil in her lamp when she took it (see v.8).

The striking similarities among the wise and foolish ladies are worth noting:

They were all virgins.
The all had lamps.
They all went out to meet the bridegroom.
They all became drowsy and fell asleep because the bridegroom delayed.

Despite all these similarities, the five foolish women did not get into the wedding party. Why? What is the bad example that we must avoid? What are the rewards of preparedness (vs.9, 10b) and the consequences of unpreparedness (vs.8, 11-12)? Before the arrival of the bridegroom, it was not possible to distinguish who was or was not prepared. So it is today, and so it will be at the second coming of the Son of Man.

And So? Some have argued that the five wise women were being selfish and un-Christian. Why is this not an acceptable assessment of them?

Prayer: Pray that God will help you keep watch, “because you do not know the day or the hour” (v.13).

Questions to consider

Question 2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Question 5: Is there any warning for me to heed?

Topic: Be faithful, He is coming!

Notice the parallel between how a thief comes and the manner of the return of the Son of Man (vs.43-44). What is the believer expected to do (v.44)? Notice also the description of the role that the believer has been given – a servant. We are all servants, and the Master has entrusted us with responsibilities in His household. Two words in v.45 describe how the servant is supposed to behave: faithful and wise. A faithful servant is one who remains loyal and steadfast to the task entrusted to him. A wise servant is one who shows experience, knowledge and good judgment in the ex*****on of his stewardship. Notice the reward for such faithful and wise servant (vs.46-47), and contrast this with the servant described in vs.48-51. The wicked servant made an assumption (v.48) and based his action/behaviour on this false assumption (v.49). Certainly, an unpleasant ending awaits such servant (2 Corinthians 5:10). How many times do we make the wrong assumptions regarding our responsibilities, relationships or faith? What are the consequences of wrong assumptions?

For further action: Reflect on your life. What are the assumptions that drive your behaviour and actions? Ask the Lord to enable you remain wise and faithful to the responsibilities He has entrusted to you.
