How can a woman build her home?

A woman “builds her home” through the daily choices that create peace, love, and stability. It’s not just about the house structure - it’s about the atmosphere inside it.
1. *With wisdom and character*
*Proverbs 14:1* says: _"The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down."_
- *Wisdom* = knowing when to speak, when to stay quiet, how to solve problems calmly.
- *Self-control* = not letting anger, gossip, or pride ruin the family.

2. *By creating a peaceful atmosphere*
- *Speak life*: Encouragement > criticism. Words set the tone at home.
- *Manage conflict well*: Don’t let small issues become big wars. Listen first.
- *Keep the home orderly*: A clean, organized space reduces stress for everyone.

3. *Through love and service*
- Care for her husband and kids without keeping score.
- Notice what needs doing and do it without being asked.
- Make home feel safe emotionally - a place people want to return to.

4. *By managing resources well*
- Budget wisely, avoid waste, plan for the future.
- Proverbs 31 woman is praised for being hardworking and practical with money/food/time.

5. *By keeping God at the center*
A home built without God often feels empty. Prayer, shared values, and teaching kids right from wrong give the home a foundation that lasts.

When a woman starts disrespecting her husband, she’s about to tear down her home."*

Why it matters:?
Respect isn’t just politeness. In a marriage, it’s the foundation of trust and teamwork. When respect goes, a few things happen fast:

1. *Communication breaks down* – He stops opening up, she stops listening. Now you’re two people living under one roof, not one team.
2. *Resentment builds* – Small slights turn into bitterness, and bitterness eats at the relationship.
3. *Kids notice* – Children learn how marriage works by watching. Disrespect teaches them that’s normal.
4. *The home loses peace* – Proverbs 14:1 puts it bluntly: _“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”_

Disrespect often starts small: sarcasm, eye-rolling, dismissing his decisions, talking down to him in front of others. If it’s not checked, it tears down what took years to build.

That said, marriage is two-sided. Respect works best when it’s mutual - a husband also has to love and honor his wife.

Matthew 6:26 reminds us of God's love and care for all His creations, including us.

Jesus teaches us to trust in God's provision, just like the birds who don't worry about their next meal. This verse encourages us to have faith that our heavenly Father will take care of us, just as He takes care of the birds.

The phrase "Are you not worth much more than they?" emphasizes our value and worth in God's eyes. We are His beloved children, and He desires to provide for us and give us life abundantly.

This scripture offers comfort and reassurance, especially during uncertain or challenging times. May it inspire you to trust in God's goodness and provision!
AMEN

TOPIC: GOD HATES LIES

MEMORISE:
“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” - (Revelations 22:15)

READ: ACTS 5:1-11 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
Revelation 22:15 tells us that as far as God is concerned, liars and dogs are in the same category. John 8:44 says that the devil is a liar and the father of lies, so, if you tell a lie, you are declaring openly that your father is the devil.
Years ago, I travelled to Ilesha and on my way back to Lagos, I decided to visit my late father in the Lord. I was close to his house when I remembered that he had taught us not to visit men of God empty-handed. So, I stopped to buy some oranges in Surulere. As my father in the Lord was eating the oranges, he said, "Wow, these oranges are sweet, did you buy them on the road?" I understood that the road he was asking about was the road between Ilesha and Lagos, not Surulere, however, I said, "Yes sir". The moment I said so, the Holy Spirit said, "You lied". I said, "What is the difference? After all, I bought them at the roadside in Surulere." Again, the Holy Spirit said, "You lied". I said, "How does it affect the sweetness of the orange?"
The Holy Spirit did not leave me alone, so I said to my Father in the Lord, "Papa, you asked a question just now. I actually bought these oranges in Surulere." The old man nodded his head and said, "Hmmm, Holy Spirit." He knew who was dealing with me. This is why it is surprising that many Christians have gotten so used to lying, even in the church. A lying tongue is an abomination to God (Proverbs 12:22). God is irritated by lies, irrespective of where it is told.
If God hates lying lips, it means that the prayers of a liar will be unanswered. God does not want to hear the voice of a liar.
