TOPIC: Will YOU BE THERE? {i}
TEXT: Matthew 25:14-30
MEMORY SCRIPTURE:"And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire" {Mark 9:47}
MESSAGE:
On the last day when God shall separate the good ones to be with Him, and the bad to the reserved doom called hellfire, which side will you be?
A hymns writer also asked each and every one of us through Sacred Songs and solos number 983 if we will be there when the trumpet of the Lord shall
sound that day when there will be no more time to repent;
When the people- the saved from the earth shall gather over on the other shore {in heaven} on the last day, the day of judgement;
When the roll of the saints who shall make it out of this temporary place called earth shall be called up yonder in heaven unto their eternal rest if you and me will be among those that will make it there?
This is a question everyone of us actually needs to ponder and ask ourselves if the life we live now will qualify us to be there or not.
Another Hymns- 798 from the same book also makes it known to us that, we will only be remembered, be judged and be sent to either heaven or hell by what we have done in all our toiling while we are here on earth.
Undoubtedly, many people don't believe there would be a reckoning day that will translate every human either to heaven or to hell.
Well, time shall tell.
To us all, today's anchor scripture {Matthew 25:14-30} through Jesus parable says, God who gave us this life, this mortal body some of us brag, offend, misbehave with, and commit sin against our Maker and humanity with, will judge everyone of us by our individual records.
Just like the master who gave talents to his subjects in Matthew 25 came back, so shall the Lord Jesus- the Saviour come back.
And we all shall stand before Him to give account of the life we live.
In that Matthew 25:14-30, the bible defines whatever qualities, be it human beauty, body stature, voice, intellect, knowledge, wealth or opportunities you and I have now as God given talent.
So, we all should be careful so that the usage of any of these talents will not judge us into hell.
Today's memory scripture Mark 9:47, together with Matthew 5:22 and Matthew 18:9 stated it clearly that there is a place called hellfire.
And because it is a place originally created for the devil and his cohorts not for us humans, these same scriptures along with the memory scripture of today counsel us to do away with whatever, whoever might end us there.
As I round up, beloved let me ask you again, when the roll shall be called up yonder on that day of reality of all the warnings God's holy word is sounding to you and me now, which side would you be?
Well, it's your lifestyles, your ways of life, not the answer you give to this question now, nor the tributes and good wishes on your funeral ceremony day, nor the 'Rest in Peace' {RiP} nor the tributes that would be written to accompany your co**se that will determine.
So, check yourself now and adjust rightly before it will be too late to do so.
