Excerpts From Sunday Service
6th April 2025
Ministering : Bishop (Dr) Mighty Frank
Topic: Service To God (Part 1)
Text: Colossians 3 : 23,24; 1 Peter 4:10
- God is the owner of everything including the life we live
- When you serve God well in spirit and in truth, He (God) will service you
- No pastor or church leadership can reward your service in God's house, only God does - Hebrews 11:6
- Service to God should not be transactional, i.e.serving God because you want something from Him in return
- Service to God should be born out of pure love for God and not for trade by barter because one cannot really serve who he /she does not really love.
- Every Service to God MUST be intentional; don't serve God only when it is convenient
- Everyone has a gift in the house of God and every gift is for service.
Problems Of Service
✓ Pride - Proverbs 16:18,
Lucifer lost his place because of pride (Isaiah 14:12-15.)
Any one that desires to go far in life must WATCH out against pride of any kind.
N/B:
-You don't force honor, you grow into honor
-Life and success is progressional
-Service to God should not be seasonal
-Service to God should be a covenant
✓ Offence - Matthew 11:6; Luke 7:23
Offence of any kind kills service to God
HOW CAN I SERVE GOD?
1. Serving God with Humility
"For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." - Matthew 23:12
2. Serving God with Love
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." - Mark 12:30
3. Serving God in Faithfulness
"Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me." - John 12:26
4. Serving God Sacrificially
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:45
5. Serving God with Joy
"Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs." - Psalm 100:2
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
_I offer myself to You as a vessel for Your service. May Your will be done in my life, and may I be used to bring glory to Your name.
_Grant me wisdom, courage, and compassion as I serve You and others. Help me to reflect Your love and character in all that I do.
_May my service be done with humility, kindness, and selflessness, and may it bring joy and hope to those around me.
_Thank You for the privilege of serving You and making a difference in the lives of others.
In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
