FROM WITHIN TO WITHOUT.
SERIOUS-MINDED PEOPLE ARE BEYOND DECEPTION.(III).
One of the major and commonest reasons we fall victims to falsehood,especially,in this present age that minds more of earthly,than heavenly things,and that we have more "Sooth Sayers,in the name of prophets is,simply as Jesus said,
"And when he brings out His own sheep,he goes before them;and the sheep follow him,for they know His voice."Yet they will by no means follow a stranger,but will flee from him,for they do not know the voice of strangers"
Jn 10:4-5.
Unfortunately,just like Eve couldn't detect and discern the voice of God from the voice of the stranger,that was why she fell a prey to him. Likewise ourselves,we fall victims to falsehood,because we don't know our Master's voice. So instead of fleeing,we cleave,and hold fast and tenaciously to their false teachings and doctrines,even to an extent of coping their lifestyle and pattern of life,in all ramifications.
Not that God doesn't speak,He does,but Paul's prophecy is being fulfilled,
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,but according to their own desires,because they have itching ears,they will heap up for themselves teachers;and they will turn their ears away from the truth,and be turned aside to fables"
IITIM 4:3-4.
We need not compare ourselves with Samuel,however we need to draw some lessons from him.
Due to inexperience,he responded to Eli,until he was directed on what to do.Even as we are told, "Now the "boy" Samuel "ministered to the LORD" before Eli..."
ISam 3:1.It also adds, "(Now Samuel did not "yet" know the LORD,nor was the word of the LORD "revealed" to him)And the LORD called Samuel again the third time.So he arose and went to Eli,and said, "Here I am,for you did call me" Then Eli perceived that the LORD had called the "boy""
ISam 3:7-8.
If only we could get people like Eli who will detach us from themselves and direct us aright,as to listen to God as to tread the Old Pathways.
If we as well will be sincere and sensitive to Him,"We should no longer be tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine,by the trickery of men,in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting"
Eph 4:14.
