"CHURCHES ARE BUSINESS CENTERS"
"And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my FATHER'S BUSINESS?And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them"...Luke 2:48-50
One of the most popular attack on the Church of Jesus Christ now (especially in Africa) is spearheaded with the statement "CHURCHES ARE BUSINESS CENTERS"
The above statement is sponsored by the Devil himself and his agents who are angry at the prosperity of the Church.
Going by Merriam-Webster dictionary, A business "is serious activity requiring time and effort and usually the avoidance of distractions".
So Looking at the answer of Jesus in the above scripture and the Merriam-Webster definition of Business, it is safe to say the CHURCH IS A BUSINESS CENTER.
YES IT IS GOD'S BUSINESS CENTER.
Even though we know there are many wolves in sheep clothing, it doesn't dispute the fact that the Church is still the number one place where the need of the whole man is been met.
Spiritual needs are met... Salvation, Deliverance, Healings, etc.
Emotional Needs are met...Love, fellowship, care, acceptance, Family, etc.
Mental Needs are met... Seminars, teachings, Discipleship, Leadership training, Marriage counseling, etc.
Social Needs are met... Scholarship to the less privileged, Free Road construction, free pipe Borne water supply, free skill acquisition training centers, etc.
Physical Needs are met... Building of Orphanage Homes, Free distribution of food items, Free Healthcare, taking care of widows and the disabled, etc.
All these needs are been met by this Business center called Church.
You know why?
Because that's the aim and objectives of the Business.
Coupled with all the needs of people been met, the church also has its needs just like any other organization or Business Center;
The Church has
Light Bills, Fuel Bills, Staff Maintenance Bills, Building Maintenance Bills, Sound/Music Maintenance Bills, Electrical Bills, Pastoral welfare Bills, Interior Decoration Bills, Convention Bills, Crusade/Evangelism Bills, Media Bills, Church Rent Bill (for those on rent), and all the Bills of the above services rendered to the society.
With all these Bills, then the church needs Huge Funding.
Don't get it twisted, the Church is been funded by God the real owner of the Business.
How does He (God) fund it?
Don't Look too far, the answers are all in the Bible;
1. Tithes- Mal 3:10-12, Matt 23:23, HEB 7:1-7
2. Freewill Offerings- Mal 3:8, 1Cor 16:1-2, Exo. 35:4-29
3. Seed Faith- 2 Cor 9:5-7
4. Sacrificial Offerings- Mark 12:41-4, 2 Cor. 8:1-5
5. Kingdom Partnership- Luke 8:1-3
6. Pastors Welfare offerings- 1 Cor. 9:7-11
These methods may not go down well with you or may look foolish but remember it's God's Business and not Yours, so if he has decided to choose the Foolish Way then be sure it's wiser than your wisdom.
Hear me, there is no religion in the World who does not have their own fund Generating system. And Yet they don't offer such services as the Church does.
If you are a true Lover of God these forms of giving will never be an issue.
Dear Believer, we don't give any of the above stated Forms of Giving because we want to be blessed or Hammer (i.e Have sudden Financial Breakthrough) these are wrong motives, rather we give first because we Love God and His work and Secondly because it is part of our Kingdom Obligation as responsible citizens of God's Kingdom on Earth.
When this becomes our motive, then Giving will not be difficult and the true Blessings that accompany Faithfulness will pursue and overtake us.
Let us not Join the world to fight the Church by imbibing statements and ideas that are spearheaded by Satan.
You may not need the Church today, but trust me, You will need it someday.
