BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE TOO!
The central lesson of the Book of Job is this: bad things can also happen to good people. Often, the devil targets those who are next in line for divine promotion. When you notice a severe negative turn of events in your life, it may be time to rise and fight spiritually with all you have.
There are five weapons every child of God must use to overcome the devilโs relentless attacks:
1. SUBMISSION
A Christian must completely submit to God without questioning His will. Your thoughts, words, plans, and actions should be guided by the Word of God. Human opinions must always be tested against the Bible and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
A stubborn Christian will walk very long in the wilderness. (James 4:7; Psalm 37:4โ5).
2. SEPARATION
Reduce unnecessary relationships and focus more on God. Identify your Elizabeths (vision helpers) and beware of Herods (vision killers). Just as one Jonah nearly sank the boat, wrong associations can hinder your destiny, while only Jesus can truly save it.
Your faith can be weakened by words from the wrong mouth. (Proverbs 18:1).
3. SANCTIFICATION
Abandon every besetting sin or secret addiction. Habits such as ma********on, excessive partying, uncontrolled talking, fornication, po*******hy, alcohol, and drug abuse must be renounced. These habits can damage finances, business, academics, and even marriage. Commit yourself to holiness through prayer and fasting.
Sin is the main cause of every spiritual attack! (Matthew 17:21; Romans 12:1).
4. SENSITIVITY
Learn to look beyond your circumstances and discern what God is doing, not just what you are suffering. If you cannot seek the Face of God, you cannot recognize the Hand of God. Learn to meditate after every prayer or bible study time.
The voice of God is clearer when your spirit is quiet. (Habakkuk 2:1; Isaiah 43:19).
5. SACRIFICE
Stingy hands rarely receive Godโs best. If you face serious battles in marriage, finances, business, or health, you may either be tested by God or opposed by the devil. God reveals weaknesses and leads you through growth, while the devil often offers shortcuts. Therefore, be generousโsupport Godโs work and help those in need.
The poor person at your gate may be the door to your next level. (James 2:14โ17. Psalm 50:5).
