THE EARTH IS THE LORD’S — SATAN OWNS NOTHING

“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof…” — Psalm 24:1

There is a powerful truth every believer must come to understand: God is the sole owner of all creation. Nothing exists outside His authority, and nothing belongs to the devil by right. The idea that Satan “owns” anything is a deception rooted in ignorance of God’s sovereignty.

From the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and He never relinquished ownership.

“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
— Psalm 24:1

This means everything—land, resources, people, systems—belongs to God. Satan may influence, deceive, and manipulate, but he does not own. He is a usurper, not a creator.

SATAN: A DEFEATED USURPER, NOT AN OWNER

Satan operates through deception, making people believe he has authority. But scripture reveals his defeat through Christ:
“Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
— Colossians 2:15

Jesus didn’t negotiate with Satan—He disarmed him. The devil’s only tool now is deception, not ownership.

Even when Satan tempted Jesus, offering Him the kingdoms of the world (Luke 4:5–7), it was a lie wrapped in arrogance. Those kingdoms were never his to give.

ALL THINGS ARE SANCTIFIED BY GOD

As believers, we must not live in fear of things being “demonic” or “owned by the devil.” The truth is: everything created by God is inherently good, and it is sanctified by His Word.

“For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving.”
— 1 Timothy 4:4

This is why Paul boldly addressed the issue of food sacrificed to idols.

PAUL AND FOOD OFFERED TO IDOLS

In the early church, many believers were afraid to eat food that had been offered to idols. But Paul clarified a deep truth:
“An idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.”
— 1 Corinthians 8:4

“Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”
— 1 Corinthians 10:25–26

Paul’s teaching was clear:
Idols have no real existence, so they cannot contaminate what God has already declared clean.

THE BELIEVER’S UNDERSTANDING

When you know that the earth is the Lord’s, you walk in freedom—not fear.
You are not afraid of places, objects, or systems.

You are not intimidated by demonic claims
You recognize your authority in Christ
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
— 1 John 4:4

CONCLUSION: WALK IN DOMINION KNOWLEDGE

The devil owns nothing.
God owns everything.

And in Christ, you are an heir of God.
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…”
— Romans 8:16–17

So stop living like a victim in a world that belongs to your Father.
Walk boldly. Speak confidently. Live freely.
Because the earth—and everything in it—is the Lord’s.
