YOUTH WEEK CELEBRATION 2026 THANKSGIVING SERVICE

The youths of the Good Shepherd Deanery gathered on Sunday, 24th May 2026, for a special Thanksgiving Service to appreciate God for the successful completion of the 2026 Youth Week Celebration Activities.

The service was filled with joy, praises, and heartfelt gratitude as the youths returned all glory to God for His guidance and protection throughout the week-long activities.

Delivering the sermon, Sister Nonye Nweke spoke on the topic, “If God Be For Us, Who Can Be Against Us,” taken from Romans 8:31. In her message, she emphasized that for believers to boldly declare that God is for them, they must first know Him personally. She further encouraged the youths to give their whole lives to God and not only a part of themselves.

Several remarkable activities took place during the Thanksgiving Service, including the launching of the Youth Fellowship Bus, an award presentation ceremony, and the administration of the Holy Communion.

Special gifts were also presented to groups that distinguished themselves during the various competitions held throughout the Youth Week Celebration. At the end of the presentations, Goodness Group emerged as the overall winner of the competitions conducted during the week.

In his speech, the President expressed deep appreciation to everyone who supported the youths in one way or another towards the success of the Youth Week Celebration.

Indeed, the Thanksgiving Service marked a glorious and memorable conclusion to the 2026 Youth Week Celebration.

YOUTH WEEK 2026: CHAPLAIN CHARGES YOUTHS TO TRUST IN GOD’S POWER AND PRESENCE

The 2026 Youth Week Celebration continued with an impactful and spirit-filled talk on the theme: “IF GOD BE FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US” taken from Romans 8:31.

During the session, the Chaplain enlightened the youths on the assurance, victory, and confidence believers have when God is on their side. He emphasized that when God stands with a person, no opposition, challenge, or force can prevail against them.

He explained that when God is for us, He becomes our Defender, Protector, and Helper, continually working on our behalf and guiding us toward victory and success.

Speaking further, the Chaplain highlighted what it truly means for God to be for His people:

1. His Presence With Us
The presence of God goes before His children, leading them through every difficulty and making crooked paths straight.

2. God Turns Things Around
When God is with a person, situations begin to change for good, and impossible circumstances become testimonies.

3. Battles Are Won
The Chaplain reminded the youths that many battles are already won when God fights for His people, because victory belongs to the Lord.

4. Unexplainable Victory
God grants victories beyond human understanding — victories that cannot be explained by human effort alone.

The youths were also reminded that no one can stop God’s divine purpose in the life of a believer when God is on their side.

The Chaplain further outlined some signs that show God is with a person, which include:

• Answered prayers
• Strength during difficult times
• Victory over sin

He also encouraged the youths on things they must do to continually enjoy God’s presence and support:

• Maintain a good relationship with God
• Walk in obedience to Him
• Live a prayerful life

Concluding the message, he charged the youths to remain steadfast in faith and never lose confidence in God, reminding them that:

“When you have God on your side, grace speaks louder than opposition.”
The session was indeed a moment of spiritual awakening, encouragement, and renewed confidence in God’s unfailing power.

To officially kick off the 2026 Youth Week Celebration Activities, the vibrant youths of the Good Shepherd Deanery took the message of salvation to the streets through an inspiring evangelism outreach tagged “Jesus on the Street.”

With passion, faith, and boldness, we shared the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, proclaiming His love, grace, and the truth that Jesus remains the only way to salvation. It was a moment of impact, soul-winning, and a powerful reminder that the message of Christ must reach every heart and every corner of our community.

Indeed, the 2026 Youth Week has begun with fire, purpose, and kingdom impact!
