”Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly. Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses.“ Numbers 27:22-23 NIV
People of God, can we pray that God would raise up leaders within our churches who exemplify the qualities of Moses. Leaders characterized by a fearless willingness to mentor others, recognizing and nurturing the diverse talents and ministries present within our congregation. Leaders that possess a keen sense of timing, knowing when to pass on the mantle of leadership to their successors in order to prevent unnecessary conflicts and ensure a smooth transition.
Unlike those who wield their authority oppressively, these Moses-like leaders empower their successors and subordinates, instilling confidence in them rather than doubt. They do not sow seeds of division among their people, but rather foster unity and collaboration. They generously invest in others, sharing the wisdom and gifts that God has bestowed upon them without seeking personal recognition or advancement.
Moreso, these leaders possess humility and a deep commitment to spiritual growth, constantly seeking to align themselves with God's will and remain receptive to His guidance. They understand that the ultimate objective is to lead God's people into their promised inheritance, regardless of who ultimately carries out the task, recognizing that the work of God remains sovereign and undiminished.
My heart cry oh Lord is; “whatever you did to Moses that made him such a great servant, do the same for me! Grant me the wisdom, humility, and unwavering devotion to Your purposes, that I may lead with grace and integrity." Amen!
God bless you.
