WATERING THE SEED DEVOTIONAL
TUESDAY 16TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2025
DIVINE COVERING
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, KJV)
Many years ago, I heard the testimony of a Pastor who had a misunderstanding with his wife, and out of anger, vowed never to forgive or talk with her again and he kept at it for many days until one day, his security guard from Northern Nigeria who barely spoke English, accosted him to enquire about his colleague, the other security guard.
Confused, the Pastor responded that he was the only guard he had, but the man argued that since the day he resumed working with the Pastor, there had always been a very huge guy with a fiery sword who neither laughed nor joked with him and was also guarding the house, leaving him to enjoy his night sleep, but had not shown up for days. It was then that the Pastor realized that an angel had been on guard for him. Coincidentally, the angel stopped showing up the same day the Pastor vowed never to forgive his wife.
When the bible says in Psalms 91 verse 11 that He will give His angels charge over you, He meant business.
I have personally experienced divine intervention in situations that would have spelt disaster going by the natural, but then, just when it seemed like the end had come, God showed up because He not only watches over us but has also commanded His angels to be on guard for us (Psalms 34:15, 1 Peter 3:12).
There is the account of a man called Elisha in 2 Kings 6:16-17:
“And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
It was not until the eyes of the servant of Elisha were opened that the servant realized that he was enjoying divine covering.
1 John 4:4 says:
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
Not only has God declared us overcomers before any battle ever begins, He has also put His Spirit inside of us and given His angels charge over us. What a privilege!
Psalms 25 verse 9 says that it is the meek that God guides in judgment. Which is why I pray for you that the grace to remain humble before Him is released upon you so that you will continue to enjoy His divine covering, in Jesus Precious Name!
Declare with me: I am an overcomer through Christ. God’s divine covering is my shield and protection.
You are blessed!
