Caliph-ornia Alhamdulillah 🙌🏽
California has officially recognised Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-ʾAḍḥā as state holidays, becoming the second US state to do so, after Washington.
What this bill means: Although schools are not required to close, the bill allows individual school districts to choose whether to give students the day off. State employees can also use their existing paid leave to observe Eid.
