TETMI TETMI is a missions' organisation whose mandate and vision is to take the whole gospel to the unreached, less reached and less evangelised rural populace.

TETMI was established in September 5th, 1985 at Imo hotels in Owerri. This was after the founder, Late Rev. Dr. S.M.I. Umune in company of Rev. Jerry Swank, a missionary with the then Sudan Interior Mission undertook a survey trip of all the then Eastern States of Nigeria, for the purpose of locating unreached areas and to find out how far the gospel had taken root in these areas. According to lat

e Rev. Dr. Umune, at the end of the trip, Rev. Swank turned to him and asked him, “Sunday, who will take the gospel to these your people?”. This questioned burdened Rev. Dr. Umune more than before, especially on seeing the Spiritual condition of these people. Then as the Coordinator of Evangelical Missionary Society (EMS) of ECWA for the whole South/Eastern States, he worked diligently and tirelessly, to ensure that the gospel did spread in these regions.

FROM A VISION TO A BLAZING REALITY: CHEERS TO ANOTHER REMARKABLE ACADEMIC YEAR! 🎓✨

What started years ago as a burden in our hearts has grown into a blazing reality through decades of sacrifice, sweat, and absolute dependence on God.

Many of our students once had zero hope of ever stepping inside a classroom, let alone standing proudly in a graduation gown as part of the Class of 2026. Year after year, the Educational Arm of TETMI has made it a sacred mission to rewrite these stories—turning what felt impossible into a life these brilliant young minds are proudly living today.

Behind every successful term and every graduating student is a team of selfless, resilient teachers. They continuously go the extra mile, overcoming rural challenges to ensure these kids show up, stay encouraged, and unlock their innate talents—from academic excellence to creative innovations like building models from scratch!

As our schools officially close for the long-haul holiday break, we stand in awe of how far God has brought our teachers, staff, and students across our outposts (including TETMI High School, Akaeze).
