THE BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS

Matt.11.2 - When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples
Matt.11.3 - to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"

During the first three centuries, Christians faced intense periods of persecution under Roman Emperors like Nero, Diocletian, and Marcus Aurelius. This led the early church father Tertullian to famously write, "The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.”

In today's Bible verse, John the Baptist expected Jesus to come and release him from the prison miraculously but that didn't happen and we know how the story ended, that's the beheading and burying of John the Baptist.

Someone would ask the fairness in Jesus not coming through for John the Baptist and have him released from the prison miraculously?
If the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church, what it means is that we the members of the church are the fruit of the church and there can never be fruit without a seed therefore the beheading of John the Baptist is a necessity not an unfortunate and helpless occurrence. So Jesus has no need to come through for John the Baptist, his death and the death of Jesus Himself gave the apostles an idea of what they are called for.

CONFESS AND RENOUNCE THY SIN.

Prov.28.13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (NIV)

Who is the sinner hiding his sins from? God? Is that possible? No of course, and that's why he doesn't prosper. Hence God is Spirit He knows our in and out so it's better we confess and renounce our sins so that we can find mercy and prosperity from God.

The deceptive part of it is that they think it's all about their fellow men and that's why they are hiding their sins before fellow men without confessing and renouncing it not knowing that whatever you do to your fellow man you did it to God, yes. Men can't see your sin against them but God has seen it and He expects you to go to your fellow man whom you have offended to confess and renounce your offence so that you can find mercy and prosperity from God.

GO DOWN TO RISE

Prov.16.18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. (NIV)

Do you know why pride goes before destruction? It's simple, just make the opposite statement which is “humility goes before upliftment”. The word humility comes from the Latin word humilitas meaning lowliness or humble state. There's another Latin word that is related to humilitas and the Latin word is humus meaning earth or grounded.
The word humility is ultimately related to the Latin humus, meaning ‘earth’ or ‘ground,’ conveying the idea of being lowly or grounded.”

The connection is that humilitas originally carried the idea of being “low to the ground.” So humility became associated with being lowly, modest, or not exalting oneself.

These explanations point to the biological connection between seeds and humus where seed goes down the earth/humus to die and rise to life and be multiplied. So in a nutshell, if you are a seed and you prefer remaining in a cup and abhor falling on the ground, what it means is that insecticides will eat you up to destruction but if the contrary is the case, you will suffer decay for a moment and later rise to glory.

Lastly, In the beatitudes, Jesus said blessed are the meek for the shall inherit the earth, however, another word for meekness is humility. So if you want to inherit the earth, go down to rise.

Wow! I love peace, I love to stay where there's peace and I also love to contribute in making any place I stay peaceful, as a matter of fact I vacate wherever I stay once I sense the absence of peace. If there's a prayer point I deserve but have not desired; it's today's Bible verse because no matter the effort man makes for peace, if the Lord doesn't build a house, the builders are building in vain, help us o lord and give us your peace in Jesus name Amen.

RIGHTEOUS WICKEDNESS

This is why God commanded us not to judge, probably that wickedness from that person is programmed by God to fulfill a prophecy according to today's Bible verse.

I'm not sure of what I'm about to say now but I'm thinking that it might be true or not, and what is that? Maybe, some people who are wicked in this life might end up making heaven on the last day; why did I say this? I'm saying this because God do send His Angels to carry out some assignments that look wicked on men and earth and if they Angels refuse to carry out that assignment just to claim righteous the Angel automatically becomes an unrighteous rebel and same thing can be applied to men because it's not every assignment that an angel can do, God needed men to do some assignments that look wicked too.

So don't judge anyone, that wicked politician might be righteous in the sight of God

THE FIRST GLEAM OF DAWN

Prov.4.18 The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. (NIV)

Today's Bible verse says: “the path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn”. I want us to concentrate on “the first gleam of dawn” which means the very early morning gradual rising of the Sun. It will be a big surprise and unusual to wake up early in the morning, let's say around 6 am and see harsh sunshine, it will be a big surprise and a breaking news. Thus, it doesn't work like that. Instead the sunlight comes up gradually from dim light to harsh sunshine and this early morning sunrise is called the first gleam of dawn.

Today's Bible verse says that the path of the righteous is like this which means it's not a surprise stuff instead it's a predictable movement and a transitory state. The path of the righteous is not a story of a young boy and girl of 14, 15, and 16 years old with no skill and business but bought a G wagon vehicle. No, you must see the process and the diligence.

The sweetest part of it is that once the process begins, nothing can quench the sunrise, it must get to its peak of the day before the sunset begins to take place. In the same manner, nothing can stop the manifestation of the righteous because it's like the first gleam of the dawn.

THE FULFILLMENT IN WORSHIP

Ps.148.7 Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, (NIV)

You can only hear or see where other creatures that are not human beings are being called to praise God, you can't see or hear them called to worship God because worship is alive when it's given or made by a reasonable and worthy entity.

For instance, whenever you are going to a particular place every day, a group of children will always call your name, greet you, hail you, and you will respond with joy. But 15 years later, when those children must have grown, when they see you, it will be only 5% of them that will greet you and hail you, others will pass you by but will greet and hail another person who they consider more influential than you but won't greet you because they consider you less influential.

So when children or a novice give you accolades, don't take it with joy till they must have seen your real worth or personality.

Human beings are the only entity on earth that has the capacity to worship God, and when they do, God will be fulfilled just like you are fulfilled when great and influential people give you accolades.

Today's Bible verse is calling on lesser entities, that's non human beings, to praise the Lord for what He has done for them by putting them in a place forever.
So anybody, both children, novice, adult, influential, less influential people is allowed to thank you or praise you for what you have done for them at the moment or time past.

But when it comes to worship which involves giving up your personality for another person, displeasing yourself to please another person just because of what you believe the person represents in your life and what you'll probably benefit from the person, it's only for those who are matured that will give you the true fulfillment when you receive all these gestures from them. People that get to the age of bearing children and successfully bore their children without delay won't understand today's Scripture that says children are a heritage from the Lord. It's a barren woman that will explain this Bible verse better than any other person.

When you breathe in and breathe out, it's the person in the oxygen machine that will tell you the magnitude of the miracle of breathing in and out.

LITTLE EFFORTS’ BIG RESULTS

A SINNER’S PRAYER

Prov.28.9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. (KJV)

Because of this Bible verse, should we come to the conclusion that it's a waste of time for a sinner to pray hence his prayer is an abomination so won't be effective.

I divide sinners into two, vulnerable sinners and wicked sinners. A vulnerable sinner is the person who indulges in sexual immorality due to lust while a wicked sinner is the person who indulges in sexual immorality just to have fun.

Today's Bible verse is talking about a wicked sinner, a vulnerable sinner’s prayer is not an abomination before God. A vulnerable sinner needed prayer more than the righteous just as the shepherd in the Bible needed the lost sheep more than the 99 sheep with him. Jesus is after the lost sinner and the lost sinner's prayer will aid the search.
