From the gospel reading, when John saw someone performing mighty works in Jesus name, he wanted to stop him, but Jesus made to understand that, he should not forbid him just because he does not belong to their group, as long as the person is doing good works in Christ name, he gathering for him and not scattering.
Again whoever gives you a gift ("cup of water" in Jesus words) because you bear the name of Christ shall be rewarded. This shows that we should honor the ministers of God and members of the household of faith.
Again, he says if any part of your body causes you to sin, "cut it off".. wow! Actually not the literal cutting😇 or we would have a Church full of amputees, but what the Lord Jesus meant in strongest terms is cut off anything that will make to sin, be determined and severe in your fight against sin, cut off that ungodly relationship, don't let the devil get you cheap, be resolute in your war against sin, if it's your eyes, cut off that video, be serious you know!
Don't be the reason a disciple of the Lord falls!
*It is better to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell*. This shows that nothing is worth compromising with our eternal salvation

*HOMILY FOR SATURAY 25TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II, Zech. 2:1-5.10-11a, Ps. Jer. 31, Lk.9:43b-45.*

1. We give thanks to God for bringing us to the last day of this week. We thank him for every good we were able to achieve and we pray for the grace to overcome every trouble.
2. In the first reading, the Lord through the prophet Zechariah promises to be in the midst of his people.
3. We do not worship a God who is distant or disconnected from us.
4. Acts 17:27 says our God is not far from us and in verse 28, it adds: ‘in him we live and move and have our being.’
5. God is always with us; God is always present in our every situation. We may not feel his presence because we have not presented ourselves to him in faith.
6. The Psalmist says: ‘The Lord will keep us, as a shepherd keeps his flock.’ If we worship God well, he will guide and guard us; he will provide for us and care us as a shepherd would his flock.
7. Jesus in the Gospel reading tells his apostles of his impending suffering.
8. The book of Sirach tells us if we want to serve the Lord, we should prepare ourselves for ordeals (Sirach 2:1). But this is not complete, we must prepare ourselves for victory too.
9. A child of God cannot be conquered or won in battle with the devil and his agents. Victory is always for sure as long as we are on the Lord’s side.
10. If we are not victorious yet, then, the battle is not over. God cannot be defeated; never would his children.
11. Today may we learn to cast our trust in the Lord and rely on him to overcome all troubles.
*ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION*
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot receive you sacramentally now, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself to you. Never permit me to be separated from you Amen.

*🔔🔔ANGELUS🔔🔔*

*In the name of the Father + and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen*

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary:
_And she conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit._

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of
our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord:
_Be it done unto me according to Thy word._

Hail Mary . . .

And the Word became Flesh:
_And dwelt among us._

Hail Mary . . .

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,

_that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ._

LET US PRAY:
*Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.*

May the Divine assistance remain always with us.

_May the souls of the faithful departed, through your mercy, O God, rest in peace._

A M E N!

*In the name of the Father + and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.*

*HOMILY FOR FRIDAY 25TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I, Hagg.2:1-9, Ps.43, Lk.9: 18-22.*

1. R.A. Torrey notes: ‘Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace and power.’
2. In today’s Gospel reading, the we see that prayer is necessary for the survival of any Christian.
3. Despite the busy schedules of Jesus, he had time to pray; sometimes alone, and other times with his apostles.
4. Little wonder, St. Paul tells us: ‘pray without ceasing’ (I Thess. 5:17) and some one adds that ‘God is prayer away from us.’
5. In the book of Ecclesiastes, we are told that there is time for everything.
6. We must learn to create time for prayers.
7. Jesus asked the apostles who people said he was in the Gospel reading of today. Each time we pray, we get to know God more and he never ceases to bless us with his favors and graces.
8. Today the Lord wants us to make prayer a priority.
9. When we fail to pray, we become prey to the devil.

Doubting a miracle claim isn't enough to tag one an unbeliever. But failing to live out christ-like.
