The wounded minister.

Avoid getting wounded. There is nothing more heartbreaking in ministry than to hear a wounded "minister" speak. You will hear in the midst of his or her preaching the authentic message God has called them to preach, but it has now been overriden and contaminated by the hurt in their hearts. They have been distracted by the injury. Now, through their preaching, they seek to settle a score with those who hurt them. Their focus is no longer Jesus but their perceived enemies.

Get your healing first so you don't defile others through an authentic calling that a root of bitterness has poisoned. Whatever happened, God wanted to use it for your good. Embrace whatever was said or done with thanksgiving in God's presence. You will be rewarded with the knowledge of wisdom, and by that, the bitter waters will become sweet.
