Once you start engaging in any form of sexual immorality, you are already making life difficult for your children, including the unborn. The flaming fires of hell is not my emphasis today, but the wrong foundation you would have laid for your children by not being thoughtful.
If you were a grandson to Judah, down to the 9th generation, before King David, in the lineage; you didn't need to do any other thing wrong to be barred from being a star leader in your generation. Judah's immoral lifestyle had already purchased your obscurity. Don't forget this was life before the Law of Moses.
Now I know that in Christ, a lot of equations have changed, but that is if your children are born again and privileged to find a sound church where they are taught how to disconnect from the faulty foundation of lewdness you have laid for them. What if they don't? They will naturally reflect the faulty foundation you laid for them.
You could even possibly be a victim of a lewd parentage, but you can choose to nip that pattern in the bud. Whilst you might be a product of a faulty ancestral pattern, you are also a foundation yourself. You can be a Mary and Joseph who by sexual purity broke a pattern of sexual immorality and birthed a Saviour.
