The Holy Spirit is our helper. In Him our Prayer Ministry is established and God has answered multiple prayers through this Ministry. We cannot count the testimonies.

Let's continue to pray that HIS gifts and fruits be made manifest in our Ministry and in us as we prepare for Pentecost.

Good morning and remain blessed.

Pentecost week retreat; Day 3, Time: 4pm.

Yesterday we discussed and prayed against the activities of evil spirits: (External physical pain, Demonic possession, Diabolical Oppression, Diabolical Obsession, Diabolical Infestation and Diabolical Subjugation).
I explained the above activities using instances from the Bible (Hosea 4:6, Jn. 8:32, Lk. 8:26-39, Mtt. 9:32-34, Mark 7:24-30), Fr. Gabriel Amort's experience on Spiritual warfare and my own personal experience.

Today we shall be discussing and praying against Curses, Evil Eye, Spell and Malefice, do not miss today.

Once God has spoken, twice have I heard this, all power belongs to God. This is where we stand.

We pray to God to the Father through His Son Jesus Christ to send His Holy Spirit to live among us and make void all the powers of the evil one in our lives. Our lives belong to God our Creator and He has the final say in our lives in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

2nd day of our 21 days fasting and prayers

Today's brief reflection and study
Text: 1 Sam 16:1

"The Lord said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel?"

Saul was anointed and chosen but later was rejected because of disobedience.
This is to show that God is interested in our actions. It is not His will to reject us so He expects us to walk in the light of obedience to His word. If man rejects you God will accept but what happens if God Himself rejects you?

PRAYER
Oh Lord my God, I prostrate before You and humbly pray that I be accepted and not rejected. Forgive me all my sins and wipe away the guilt that I may do your work in all sincerity of heart, in Jesus Mighty Name Amen.

FOOD OF THE SOUL
25th January 2026

Reflection by Fr. Bernard (OCAC)

Topic *Allowing God to take the lead in all situations*

Text: Gospel of the day: *Mtt. 4:12-23*

"Now when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee; and leaving Nazareth he went and dwelt in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulum and Naphtali"

Jesus Christ is mighty, he has all the power and authority, a true God and a true man.

Ordinarily one may not be wrong to imagine why Jesus would withdraw after the arrest of John. This supposed to be the perfect time for Jesus to show His power and subdue all the enemies of the Gospel who apprehended John, but instead he withdrew (retreated, exited).

In our everyday life people have cried and questioned the presence of God in the face of calamity, injustice, sickness, death and so on. No wonder John equally, subsequently sent a message across to trigger Jesus asking if He was the Savior or we should wait for another.

It really hurts when it appears God is not coming through, many would actually denounce their faith in the face of challenges and such temptations. But the truth is that God is always available and has the best decision and final say.

However, the focus here is on Jesus action, why did He withdraw? Simply because he allows God to take the lead in whatever case. Recall that when his own time came to be arrested and crucified, he cried and prayed the cup be taken from him but since it's the will of the Father let God take the lead.

The purpose of God is absolutely and perfectly *GOOD* It may not appear so to us but you can bet on it.

Jesus withdrawal is a fulfilment of that which was spoken by the prophet Isaiah quoting the first reading "the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light* (cf. Is. 9 & Mtt. 4:6).
It is a joy to them that sat in darkness because the great light of God has happened upon them.

Whatever be the case let us always pray that God will give us the grace to allow Him t

*Worthless Shepherd*

Text: Zech. 11:1-17 & Luke 17:37-52 (Today's 1st and Gospel Reading)

"*Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock*" Zech. 12:17 (RSV)
Today's reading is warning to all Ministers of the Gospel, pointing to the propelling and impending doom which awaits those Ministers who take the Gospel message for a caricature and world business.
God cannot be mocked, and as Jesus said; time has come when those who worship God must do that in Spirit and in Truth(cf. Jn. 4:23-24). It appears that money and earthly riches and the hunger for fame and popularity have taken over the world, even the Ministers are not exempt in this calamity, everyone wants to be noticed by all means.

In the Gospel pericope we hear Jesus accusing the Pharisees of cleansing the outside cup and dish while full of wickedness and extortion inside. Such is the lot of many Ministers today. Many children of God who really want to worship God are scattered here and there seeking for a place and hoping for a good shepherd (Bonus Pastor). Many of the so called Ministers today are full of wickedness and pretence, everything is for the bag (pecunia), therefore anything can be done to achieve that. There are a lot of *miskogbu* (faking and diabolical actions) today in the name of prayer and Oru ekpere. This is because many believe that the end of the result justifies the means no matter how it is achieved. Repent!

The Lord warns us today again, all Ministers are called to reevaluate their method of shepherding the flocks given to them by God. The flocks are not there to be milked down and extorted from. The flocks are to be nurtured with the word of God and the shepherds are called to be living examples of what they preach.
"Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword smite his arm and his right eye* (Zech. 11:17).

*PRAYER*
