SERMON DELIVERED BY BRO. DOTUN ADEBIYI DURING THE SUNDAY YOUTH SERVICE HELD AT THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH NIGERIA, ODI-OLOWO ASSEMBLY, OSOGBO AREA HEADQUARTERS, ON 17TH MAY 2026.
TOPIC: SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS
SCRIPTURE READING: EZEKIEL 34:20–26
Introduction
It is God’s desire for His children to enjoy His blessings. “Showers” signify rain, abundance, and refreshment. God desires that we live in abundance and experience His goodness continually (Ezekiel 34:26).
Every believer in Christ is already blessed. A believer is not expected to pray merely to be blessed, but rather to gain understanding and experience the blessings that are already available in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).
Why then do many believers not see the manifestation of these blessings?
There is a difference between knowing that you are blessed and experiencing the visible manifestation of those blessings in your life.
Three Things That Make the Blessing of God Manifest in Our Lives
✓ Alignment with God’s Will
As long as you remain in the center of God’s will, His blessings will continually flow into your life (Psalm 23:1–3).
When God is the One leading you, your life will align with His purpose.
As long as you walk according to His will, you will enjoy the abundance of His blessings.
✓ Giving: Tithes and Offerings
Giving is one of the channels through which God showers His blessings upon His people. It is also an acknowledgment that God is the true Source of all we have.
Malachi 3:10 encourages believers to bring all tithes into the storehouse.
This is one of the ways God blesses His children. Therefore, we must examine our sincerity and faithfulness in giving our tithes and offerings. If you desire to attract God’s blessings into your life, you must learn to give faithfully.
According to 2 Corinthians 9:6–9, “He which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”
Beyond giving materially, our hearts must also be committed. God loves a cheerful giver. When you become a blessing to others, you position yourself to experience God’s abundant blessings.
✓ Holiness
Holiness attracts the favor and blessings of God. Although God loves sinners, He hates sinful ways. Therefore, living a holy life positions a believer for divine favor and blessings.
Holiness is not optional; it is a necessary lifestyle for every believer (Psalm 1:1–3).
As long as you remain righteous and live uprightly before God, you shall be like a tree planted by the riverside, continually flourishing. When we walk in holiness in all that we do, the blessings described in Psalm 1:3 become evident in our lives.
Conclusion
Every believer in Christ is already blessed. We are not merely praying to become blessed; rather, we are praying for understanding and for the manifestation of the blessings we already have in Christ.
No matter the challenges you may be facing, you have the authority in Christ to speak over every situation (Ephesians 3:20–21).
Even if you have not yet seen the full manifestation of God’s blessings, as long as you remain in Christ, there is a sure assurance that His blessings will surely manifest in your life.
