THE BASIS OF THE GOSPEL

It is good to clarify first and foremost, that among all the many other books of religion and belief system in the world, only the BIBLE is the Word of God.

The above statement is not a sentiment or mere defense of one's faith, it has facts among which are these :

(1) Only the BIBLE teaches and provides for deliverance from sin.
(2) Only the BIBLE teaches and provides for human beings to become new creatures. Other religions provide for adjustment and struggle with the nature of sin.
(3) Only the BIBLE teaches and provides for evident creative miracles through simple prayers, because it operates through the power of the Only Creator. Other religions work on methods which can never achieve creative miracles.

We shall examine some points which form the basis/foundation on which the Bible is given and the Gospel is preached.

(1) The Bible / Gospel is based on the thoughts, the ways and the attributes of God.

As you study the Bible, you will see God as He is - The Supreme, Loving, Compassionate, Unquestionable, Righteous, Eternal God.

Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Daniel 4:34-35
And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

1 Corinthians 1:18, 25
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Because God is the Author of the bible, it may be conflicting with human natural senses and so the need for us to pray to be filled with the mind and the Spirit of God.

For example, Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

We may be asking, why do I need to ask since God knows every of my needs. The answer is, that is His way. Ask.

(2) The Bible / Gospel is also based on this truth that there will always be presence of temptation everywhere.

Temptation means enticement or invitation to sin.

Genesis 2:7-9
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL "

We may ask why did God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden since He didn't want Adam and Eve to eat it?

Because God expects human beings to obey His commandments freely being our Creator .

Matthew 6:13
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: . . . "

Ephesians 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Thanks to God that He made provisions for us to pray not to fall into temptations that will always be around us and to have every heavenly resources and wisdom to always overcome whenever the temptations come.

(3) The Bible / Gospel is based on the creation of human beings with expectations to make choices.

Genesis 2:16-17
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

The fall of human being in the garden of Eden is their choice, because there were other fruits there and they also had the commandments of God.
So also everything that happen to us in this world and the word to come are results of the choices we made. So we must always be watchful.
To fulfill a destiny, purpose or God's covenant, the choices we make all along serve most important factor to succeed or otherwise.

Esau chosed a plate of pottage in exchange for his birthright. Genesis 25:29-34.

Hezekiah chosed not to die though it was a notice from God, he prayed and God averted the death. 2nd Kings 20:1-6.

(4) The Bible / Gospel is also based on the assured consequence of sin and of righteousness.

Psalms 50:6
"And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. "

Daniel 9:13-14
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.

Revelation 22:11-12
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

God judges because He is righteous. He cannot reward evil to the person that chosed good or reward good to the person that chosed evil.

It is very important for us to pray ceaselessly for inspiration of the Holy Spirit to understand the Word of God.
As we also read the bible and meditate upon the Word of God with this background knowledge discussed in this message, we will be free from confusion and the word of God become profitable for us in this world and the world to come.

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Pray for the church of Jesus Christ to continue to get stronger and for the Gospel to take preeminence of all the nations of the earth. Until every soul on the earth is saved.

Ezekiel 22:30
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

God works through the passionate cry of the intercessors. That's divine arrangement.

Be the man. Be the woman. Be the intercessor.

READINESS FOR CHRIST'S RETURN

Matthew 25:1-13

The parable of the ten virgins is one of the departing words of Jesus Christ to His immediate disciples and to us, who are pertakers of the same grace and hope with them.
Grace made available for us to live our lives worthy of God's kingdom and hope of entering and living in His kingdom and glory with Him forever.

Matthew 25:1
"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom."

The virgins in this parable are people that started the journey to the kingdom of God by simply believing in Jesus Christ and in His sacrificial death on the cross, as the word of God says in Romans 10:9-10.

According to an estimate, professing christians are about 2.4 billion people in the world.
Among these professing christians are believers that have conscious faith in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ for them and that gives them sense of belongingness to Him, Who died for them.

Matthew 25:2
"And five of them were wise, and five were foolish."

The foolish virgins are believers that stop all their kingdom pursuit at just believing and professing.
They are doing nothing about repentance to God, sanctification ( inner purging), and seeking the grace of God for a life of holiness and righteousness. They don't want to endure sound doctrines. They sin willfully. Hebrews 10:26.

But the wise virgins make definite progress in their kingdom pursuit; continuing in the word of God ( John 8:31-32 ) and praying so they posses Godly virtues, Godly behavior and divine wisdom.

James 3:13-18
"Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace."

Matthew 25:3-4
" They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps."

Both the foolish and the wise virgins had their lamps burning at the beginning of the journey.
But the wise virgins dealt in wisdom, they took extra oil in another container for refill, if the oil in their lamps not sufficient to keep their lamps burning until the bridegroom comes.
But the foolish virgins didn't do that.

The most important thing to note here is the wisdom of extra - oil meaning getting yourself prepared with all the grace of God and virtues to overcome all temptations and trials that may come your way in your journey to the kingdom of God.
Matthew 16:24-27. Hebrews 4:14-16. 2nd Peter 1:5-10

Matthew 25:5
"While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept."

Unlike the thief crucified beside Jesus on the cross, who entered the kingdom of God the same day he was saved. ( Luke 23:39-43 ).
After we believed, we still go to work, to office, to market, to our trade etc in this world that is full of corruption and defilement. That is why we need sufficient grace and Godly virtues in our lifes to survive and be acceptable with God at last.

Matthew 25:6
"And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him."

The return of the Lord Jesus Christ to carry the saints out of this world to glory will be sudden and without pre-annuncement as it is in the parable of the ten virgins.
The seeming - announcement of the arrival of the bridegroom in the parable is not with any spare time for anybody to prepare but representing the shout, the voice of the archangels and the trump of God that will herald the sudden appearance of the Lord. 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17. Matthew 24:30-31, 36-44.

Matthew 25:7-9
" Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves"

Take note that the foolish virgins like many believers have no extra oil; no sufficient grace in their lifes, no enough Godly virtues to carry on in this journey of life and still be ready for the return of the Lord.
But the wise are always prepared, always diligent in spiritual growth and always ready for the return of the Lord.

The refusal of the wise virgins to share their oil with the foolish virgins connotes that the journey to God's kingdom is individual matter and not in group or association. Don't allow your relationship with anyone to hinder you. ( Matthew 24:40-41. Matthew 5:29-30)
It also means keeping all that you have in Christ; forgiveness and justification, grace, redemption, Godly virtues, holiness, righteousness, kingdom prosperity etc, keeping them till the end.

Matthew 25:10
"And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut."

To be raptured with Christ when He returns, the key-word is readiness, which is the result of a life-long preparation, diligence and perseverance.

No one goes to heaven by mistake and no one goes to condemnation by mistake. It is what you prepare for that you get. ( Galatians 6:7-9. Revelation 22:11-12)
The last statement in this verse ( verse 10) says, " . . . and the door was shut". Stressing the truth that the rapture of the saints is one time event without any opportunity of second chance for those that miss it.

Matthew 25:11-12
" Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not."

After the saints have gone in rapture, many will then believe the truth that has been preached to them over and over, fear will fill people's hearts and start repenting, seeking the Lord, willing for second chance but as the bridegroom said " . . . I know you not" the grace and mercy of God available for salvation now would have expired and withdrawn .

Isaiah 55:6-7
"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."

" . . . I know you not " in the scripture ( verse 12) is a language of judgement.
As the all-knowing Lord He knows everyone and everything but He never know them as His own.

2 Timothy 2:19
" Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Matthew 25:13
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

It is better to examine our lifes and judge ourselves in the word of God now than to be condemned and rejected in the last day .

Luke 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Thanks for reading.
