Introduction: Anointing begets covenants, but the purpose of the anointing was never to make covenants. By “covenant” here, I am referring to the material provisions and blessings that may accompany the anointing. No man is anointed merely for fame, riches, recognition, or the things of this world. Every genuine anointing is given to foster a deeper and stronger walk with the LORD and to accomplish His purpose through a man's life. To the anointed, understand this: your anointing produces the covenant that God has ordained for you. Therefore, do not pursue the covenant at the expense of the anointing. Do not become more interested in what the anointing can produce than in the God who gave it. Most importantly, understand this as a fact: your safety is not necessarily where you can comprehend yourself to be; your safety is where God has placed you. The safest place for an anointed man is the place of God's will. And if God no longer sustains your anointing, even if that anointing continues to produce results, understand that results alone are not proof of God's continued involvement. A gift may still produce results even when the vessel has departed from the place of divine dependence. Therefore, the purpose of the anointing is not merely what it can produce in your hands, but what God desires to accomplish through your life.

1. IS TO BUILD EVERLASTING COVENANTS!
* The anointing of God upon your life is not transactional. It is not given because of what you want to receive from God, nor is it a means of negotiating material blessings from Him. Rather, it is a fruit of a serious, genuine, and consistent walk with God. The anointing is not primarily about what God can give you; it is about what God desires to accomplish through you. What comes as a result of walking closely with God must never become greater than the God with whom you walk. (Jer. 9:23–24; Matt. 6:33; Jn. 15:4–5; Phil. 3:8–10; 1 Jn. 2:27)

2. IS IN HOW MUCH GOD RECIEVES HIS GLORY!
* If, at the end of everything you do, God is not glorified, then the purpose of your anointing is not being fulfilled. The essence of being anointed is not to draw attention to yourself, but to ensure that God is glorified through your life, your work, and the results He produces through you. The ultimate evidence of a fulfilled anointing is not how celebrated you become, how much you possess, or how many results you produce, but how much glory is returned to God through your life. (Isa. 43:7; Matt. 5:16; Jn. 15:8; Rom. 11:36; 1 Cor. 10:31; 1 Pet. 4:11)

3. IS IN HOW MUCH GOD IS INVOLVED IN THE MISSION!
* The involvement of the Almighty God in your mission is an indication of the relevance of your anointing. Never make the mistake of running the course of your anointing by yourself without involving God. For it is only by God's involvement that the purpose of the anointing can be fulfilled. The anointing was never designed to function independently of the One who gave it. Where God is not involved, the purpose of the anointing is compromised. Therefore, never allow the results of your anointing to make you independent of God. The more God works through you, the more dependent on Him you must become. (Ex. 33:15; Ps. 127:1-2; Prov. 3:5–6; Zech. 4:6; Jn. 15:5; Acts 20:22–24; Phil. 2:13)

Introduction: Studying the Bible is very important, but it is equally important to understand the sacrifice behind the writings we have today. The words we read in Scripture were not given to us from a place of comfort or convenience. Many of the apostles endured persecution, rejection, suffering, imprisonment, and even death while proclaiming the truth of Christ. The letters written to the churches were born out of deep conviction, love, labour, and commitment to the Gospel. They were written so that generations after them could know Christ, understand the truth, and remain steadfast in the faith. Therefore, we must never take the Scriptures for granted. There is more to the Bible than simply reading words on a page. Behind many of these writings are people who gave their lives to preserve and proclaim the message they had received. As we study Scripture, may we not only seek to know the words, but also appreciate the price that was paid to pass the message of Christ from one generation to another. These writings hereby came from:

1. A PLACE OF SACRIFICE
The writings of the apostles came from a place of sacrifice. They were written by men who gave their lives to the Gospel, enduring persecution, suffering, rejection, imprisonment, and even death for the sake of Christ. Therefore, the Scriptures we read should never be taken for granted. Behind these writings were lives poured out for the truth and a deep commitment to make Christ known. (Acts 20:24; 2 Cor. 4:11; Phil. 2:17; Rev. 1:9)

2. A PLACE OF INTIMACY WITH GOD
The writings of the apostles also came from a place of intimacy with God. They were men who walked with Christ, received His teachings, depended on the Holy Spirit, and sought to know God's will. Their writings reveal not merely knowledge about God, but a deep relationship and fellowship with Him. (Acts 2:12; 4:13; 1 Jn. 1:1–3; Gal. 1:11–12; Jn. 14:26)

3. A PLACE OF LOVE
The writings of the apostles came from a place of love, love for Christ, love for God’s people, and love for those who would receive the Gospel. Their letters were written to encourage, correct, teach, and strengthen believers in the faith. Their willingness to endure suffering also demonstrated the depth of their love for Christ and His Church. (2 Cor. 5:14; Phil. 1:21; 1 Thess. 2:8; 1 Jn. 3:16–18)

Introduction: How far you have come is not a measure of how much you have achieved. Distance travelled does not equal success achieved. How far you go matters less than how well you succeed. True achievement is not about the distance you have travelled, but the transformation and value you have created along the way. It is entirely possible to move far down a career or life path without actually achieving deep fulfillment, mastery, or impactful results. True progress is measured by personal growth and the distance you have travelled from your starting point rather than raw status or speed. Never mistake motion for progress; activity is not the same as achievement. The rate of failure is directly proportional to the speed of motion in the negative direction. The degree of success equals the rate of motion in the positive direction. Steve Prefontaine stated that, "Success is about the distance traveled from where you begin." In other words, true success is measured by the personal growth and progress you make from your starting point rather than just the final destination you have reached. Certainly therefore, success is not about swiftness but about grace. Hence, The Scripture states that, "The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all." (NIV) Understanding your journey growth over the position you have attained will stop you from comparing your chapter one to someone else's chapter twenty, for that will only breed discouragement. The real metric of true achievement is the internal strength, wisdom, and resilience you built along the way. Therefore, start by putting value in small steps, and consider every hard lesson and minor victory as a real advancement. Forge ahead daily by:

1. OVERCOMING HARDSHIP!
* Understand that starting from a difficult place and fighting forward builds true character. (Is.41:10; Jn.16:33; 2Cor.4:8; Phil.4:13)

2. AVOIDING THE TRAP OF ACTIVITY!
* Accept the fact that busywork and motion can simulate progress, but moving fast in the wrong direction yields no real success. (Ps.141:8-9; Prov.22:3; 29:25; 1Cor.10:13)

3. GAINING RESILIENCE!
* Acknowledge that facing failures makes you stronger than a smooth, easy path ever could. (Josh.1:9; Is.40:31; 2Cor.4:8-9; Gal.6:9; Jam.1:2-4)

4. SHUNNING THE COMPARISON PARADOX!
* Know for certain, that measuring yourself strictly by external milestones will always leave you disappointed, as someone will always be further ahead. (Prov.14:30; 1Cor.12:4-6; 2Cor.10:12; Gal.6:4; Col.3:23)

5. FORGETTING THE BASELINE!

Introduction: What is missing in today's world is compassion. People find it easy to sympathise, and even empathise, but for them to rise up to the level of being compassionate is what majority cannot bring themselves into. Sympathy is simply an observation laden with emotion; empathy is emotional recognition; whereas, compassion involves action taken to ameliorate a challenge. Compassion is the wheel of God's Love; a compassionate heart draws compassionate souls. I have lived half a century, edging close to sixty years on earth, and all my life, I have seen people mouthing compassion while hardly taking any step towards becoming compassionate themselves. Not only that, many people detest those with compassionate heart around them, and can go to any extent to get them discouraged. One great thing I have come to realise is that, the ungrateful can never be compassionate, and they do not have the capacity to genuinely appreciate the sacrifice of a compassionate person towards them. I personally consider the Pool of Bethesda as the colony of the ungrateful. JESUS could not reach out to them, instead, He picked their chief, the man who had been there 38 years to showcase their collective mindset. Therefore, I will say the compassionate needs discernment so as to avoid discouragement. Mercy is powerful; compassion is productive. Mercy speaks but compassion acts. Mercy offers forgiveness or relief from judgment, while compassion takes practical steps to relieve suffering through action. Both values complement each other in personal and social care. Dalai Lama said, "Compassion is the wish to see others free from suffering." While you go all out to do exactly that, never forget that the world has a large population of ungrateful souls, hence be determined never to be discouraged. Sympathy analyses issues; empathy identifies with issues; but compassion takes action to have issues resolved. Sympathy validates the existence of a problem; compassion alters the trajectory of the problem. Compassion is not sentiment, it is the comparison of actions and choosing the best option. Choosing to be compassionate means noticing when someone hurts and deciding to take action to help. It moves past just feeling sad for a person into doing something kind to ease their load. Therefore, choosing to be compassionate will require you to become:

1. A PROBLEM IDENTIFIER!
* A problem identifier is the vital first step in systematic problem-solving. It means finding and defining the true root cause of a problem, rather than just reacting to surface-level symptoms. (1Kn.3:9; Rom.12:2; 1Cor.12:10; Heb.5:14; 1Jn.4:1)

2. A GREAT LISTENER!
* Listen closely without judging or planning your reply. As you listen, also make yourself a reliable confidant. (Job 2:13; Prov.29:20; Jam.1:19; 3:2)

3. A WRONG FORGIVER!
* Forgive mistakes made by yourself and other people. Forgiveness gives you an edge over those who wronged you by completely cutting their emotional leverage and control over your life. (Matt.18:21-22; Mk.11:25; 1Cor.13:5; Eph.4:32; Col.3:13)

4. A HELPER IN SMALL WAYS!
* Offer small help like a kind word, an open door, or a shared meal. Consistent practice of little acts of kindness eventually becomes a lifelong habit. (Prov.19:17; Zech.4:10; Matt.10:42; Gal.6:9-10; Col.3:23)

5. A SELF-LOVER!
* Treat yourself with the same gentle care you give a good friend. Remember that you can’t give what you do not have, therefore treating yourself with deep kindness instead of harsh judgement will help greatly in sharing same with others. With Christ in your life, loving yourself becomes easier. Come to JESUS today. (Prov.19:8; Mk.12:31; Jn.3:10-18; Eph.5:29)
