Greetings, my beloved brethren. I Hope you are having a wonderful day.
I want to fulfill my promise. I said in one of my previous teachings that I will show us how Moses and Jesus played the same pattern.
The message may be lengthy but please try and read to the end so you can fully understand it. Thank you.
*SIMILARITIES BETWEEN MOSES AND JESUS*
The Bible presents several striking patterns and parallels between Moses and Jesus Christ.
Believers have often understood Moses as a foreshadowing or “type” of Christ, while Jesus is presented as the greater fulfillment of several things associated with Moses.
But the truth is that the two are the same only that Moses is physical form while Jesus Christ is the spiritual form.
So, let discuss them;
*1. Both were born during the time of a murderous ruler but were preserved*
Moses was born during the time of Pharaoh and
Jesus was born during the time of King Herod
You know the full story.
*2. Both came out of Egypt*
Moses came out of Egypt and
began his mission of delivering Israel:
Matthew 2:15 (NKJV) said “Out of Egypt I have called My son.”
Matthew applies this Hosea 11:1 passage to Jesus, showing that Israel's history and particularly the Exodus servers as a pattern pointing toward Jesus.
So, Moses brought Israel's deliverance from Egypt
While, Jesus brought Christians's deliverance from spiritual Egypt (Jerusalem) according to Rev 11: 8
*3. Both experienced a wilderness period before starting their ministry.*
Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness before returning to Egypt (Acts 7:30).
Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness before beginning His public ministry (Matthew 4:1–2).
The numbers may not be identical in duration, but the pattern is significant: preparation in the wilderness before public ministry.
*4. Both became deliverers*
Moses was commissioned by God to deliver Israel from Egyptian bo***ge:
God told Moses in Exodus 3:10 “Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people... out of Egypt.”
So, Moses delivered Israel from Pharaoh's physical bo***ge;
While, Jesus came as the greater Deliverer:
The Angel of God said in Matthew 1:21 “And you shall call His name YASHUA (translated to jesus) , for He will save His people from their sins.”
Jesus delivered Believers from sin and spiritual bo***ge of law.
*5. Both were mediators between God and His people*
Moses stood between God and Israel and communicated God's covenant and commandments to the people (Exodus 19–20; Deuteronomy 5).
Jesus is presented as the mediator of a new covenant: according to 1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”
*6. Both went up a mountain and received/gave God's revelation*
Moses went up Mount Sinai and received the Law from God (Exodus 19–20).
Jesus went up a mountain and taught His disciples and the crowds, particularly in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7).
*7. Both had 12 closely associated leaders/representatives*
Moses had the twelve tribes of Israel, descended from Jacob's twelve sons (Exodus 24:4; Numbers 1).
Jesus deliberately chose twelve apostles (Matthew 10:1–4).
The number twelve is a code for strong foundation and is strongly connected with God's covenant people .
*8. Both demonstrated a miraculous provision of food*
Through Moses, God provided manna from heaven to Israel in the wilderness (Exodus 16).
Through Jesus, thousands were miraculously fed with a few loaves and fish (Matthew 14:13–21; John 6).
There is more about the manna which the Israelites eat because if you check you will find out that they were instructed to only gather the ones they can finish every day but on the sixth day they should gather both for the seventh day ~ which signify that there is a message of God for every generation but on the sixth thousand year it will last till the seventh thousand year .
2 Peter 3:8 said
"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
*9. Both crossed water in connection with Baptism*
Moses led Israel through the Red Sea (Exodus 14).
Paul interprets Israel's passage through the sea as having a baptismal significance:
“all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses...” 1Corinthians 10:1–2
This is particularly interesting because Paul explicitly uses the language of baptism into Moses, establishing a pattern between Moses and Jesus.
Jesus' ministry encourage water baptism as important in relationship between believers and Jesus.
*10. Both had their faces associated with divine glory*
After Moses encountered God, his face shone:Exodus 34:35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him
The same thing happened to Jesus at Transfiguration, His face shone like the sun:
Matthew 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
*11. Moses and Jesus both had a mountain experience involving God's voice to humans*
At Sinai, Moses encountered God's presence and heard God's voice. Exodus 20:22 "
At the Transfiguration, Jesus was revealed in glory, and the God's voice declared:
Matthew 17:5
*12. Both encountered rejection from their own people*
Moses was rejected and questioned by Israelites whom he was trying to save /lead (Exodus 2:14; 17:2–3; Numbers 14).
Jesus was also rejected by many of His own people:
John 1:11 said “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.”
*13. The people saved under both leadership were associated with image worship*
After Moses delivered the Israelites from Egypt, Moses went to mountain to bring law from God; before he could return Aaron who was the next leader presented to the congregation and image called Golden Calf and told the, oh Israel this is the God that delivered you from Egypt.
The same happened with Jesus Christ; After Christ delivered christians from the law and Sin, Christ ascended to heaven and promise he will come back but before He could return, the church leaders presented an image to the church and told the believers that this is the Son of God who die on the cross to save you from sin.
There are other similarities but I just listed these ones.
It will interest you to know that even Moses pointed forward to a Prophet pattern
Moses said:
Deuteronomy 18:15 "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken" ;
The New Testament applies this prophecy to Jesus in Acts 3:22
“For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me...’”
And Stephen made the same connection in Acts 7:37.
So the Bible itself establishes the pattern between Moses and Jesus
Although Jesus is a spiritual form while Moses is physical form. That is why Jesus is presented as greater than Moses because spiritual superceded the physical.
*But There is an angle about the similarities I will like you to consider*
Moses ministry brought people of God (Israel )out of Egypt bo***ge and took them into wilderness and spent 40 years in the wilderness after then Joshua the son of Num came and gave them the promise land.
Jesus ministry freed God's people (Christians) from the spiritual bo***ge of law and Sin and took them into church which is a spiritual wilderness journey, and it has lasted for 40 jubilees .
A jubilee is 50 years in Jewish calendar so, 40 jubilees is 40 X 50 which is 2000 years.
After the 40 jubilees we should expect the rise of Joshua who will fulfill the promise of God.
Someone may ask why jubilees: Yes, it is jubilees because in Jewish calendar jubilee has a code 50 for restoration and Jesus ministry is for humanity, so to restore humanity back to its original nature - (IMMORTALITY), code for restoration should play a role in Jesus ministry in order to restore the original nature of mankind.
As stated earlier, In Moses ministry there was a promise God gave to His people (Israel) about inheriting cannan land, after 40 years of Moses's ministry Joshua the son of Num came and fulfilled the promise.
In Jesus ministry there is also a promise God gave to His people (Believers) about inheriting kingdom of God, so, after 40 jubilees of Jesus ministry God raised *JOSHUA HAMASHIAK* who will fulfill the promise.
In Moses ministry, after 40 years God said in Joshua 1:1-2 " *Joshua Arise"* but in Jesus ministry after 40 jubilees God said in 1986 *I am raising up JOSHUA.*
I will like to state it categorically here that,if Moses ministry did not fulfill the promise to the people of God ; Jesus ministry will not fulfill the promise to the people of God -
This is the hidden mystery of God but it is now revealed for the glorification of the saints Hallelujah!!!.
It will interest you to know that, Moses could not fulfill the promise not because the ministry was not from God or it was bad but because the ministry produced servants of God - Moses being the chief servant and they struggle to keep the laws and commandments of God as a condition for inheriting the promise land but servants can not inherit the promise because the promise is not a reward but an inheritance.
So, Jesus ministry will not fulfill the promise of God's kingdom on earth and immortality, not because it is not from God or it's bad but because it produced servants of God and Apostle Paul being the chief servant and believers who struggle to keep Galatians 5 : 19 - 21 as a condition for inheriting the kingdom of God because the kingdom of God will not be earned as a reward but it will be inherited as an inheritance.
Joshua is the name of the Son of God and His ministration is the only ministry through which God produces free-born children who inherits the promises of God in their generations.
*Joshua the son of Num fulfilled the promise of cannan land while*
*Yashua the son of Mary fulfilled the promise of holy Spirit and*
*Joshua Hamashiak will fulfill the promise of kingdom of God and immortality.*
I will like to state it clear that when I say Jesus ministry; it is different from the person of Christ the son of God because His name was Yashua not Jesus.
*Yashua is the same as Joshua.*
It will also interest you to know that Christ the son of God who brought Yashua ministry produced the free-born children of God as the disciples and they inherited the promise of holy Spirit at the upper room because they are joint-heirs not servants.
But apostle Paul became the chief servant and the leader of the servant ministry and the ministry have produced servants of God till today.
Your believe on the name *JOSHUA HAMASHIAK* in this generation will automatically bring you into the ministry of the Son of God and you will appear as the very Elects who shall inherit the kingdom of God and IMMORTALITY as their birthright.
Thank you and Remain blessed.
