Have you ever asked yourself or someone this 👆 question before ?
Someone once said to me "since catholic priests do not marry and do not have children, why then are they addressed as FATHERS ?
THE ANSWER IS NOT FAR-FETCHED
The Catholic priests are called FATHERS because by their ministry, they are spiritual fathers of every Christian.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THIS 🤔
The priests are caretakers of the mysteries of God and in 1cor.4:15 (NKJV) we are begotten through the gospel as children by these caretakers (priests) of the mysteries of God in Christ Jesus .
The fatherly title also reflects the priests responsibilities of teaching the faith , providing guidance and offering spiritual support to their parishioners.
The use of Father is also a long standing tradition in the Catholic Church, reflecting a sense of reverence and respect for the priests sacred office .
So , whenever you hear or want to address our priests as fathers feel free to do so because it's not just a make up , they deserve iAll About the Catholic Faith Catholic News AgencyaCatholic ChristiansliFr Kelvin UgwuCaFADA EbubedikeanFada Kay MediagwuAblefrank MedicalsFada Kay Media UgAblefrank Medicals
