*YOUR ARE GOD’s TEMPLE*

*But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1Cor6:17-20*

One distinct feature of the Holy Spirit as part of the trinity is that He doesn’t have a body. He is a Spirit. The only way spirits work on earth here is through human beings. This is why even demon spirits look for hosts; People they will posses and express themselves through.
The Holy Spirit of God must also indwell men to fulfill the desires of the trinity here on earth. This is why the Bible says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit individually and corporately.

What kind of temple does the Holy Spirit want? He wants a clean vessel. The qualification for standing in God’s presence is also what it takes to enjoy the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit. A clean hand and a pure heart are important. A pure heart does not devise or accommodate evil thoughts neither does a clean hand wrought evil. You must pursue holiness. Sin makes the Holy Spirit withdraw His presence. When Christ was made sin on our behalf according to 1Cor5:21 (he did not sin), He lost fellowship with the father. The father turned His back on Him hence His cry on the cross “my father my father why has thou forsaken me”.
Sin deprives you of fellowship especially the sin of defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit which is our body. True repentance from sin doesn’t only lead to forgiveness but restoration of fellowship.

Keep your vessel pure by running away from sexual immorality or all kinds. God does not fill dirty vessels. No man no matter how thirsty will pour clean water into a dirty cup to drink.
*“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication, 1Tess4:3”*

There is enabling grace to live a life of purity and holiness as long as we are willing and yielding. Through prayers, practice of obedience to God’s word, accountability, setting of boundaries etc a life of sanctification is simplified. The Goodnews is that the Holy Spirit Himself empowers us to live for Him and please Him.

*PRAYER*
*Ask God to purge you, cleanse and sanctify you for a fresh outpouring and infilling of His Spirit.*

*THE WAY OF THE SPIRIT*

*And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.... Luke 4:1*

The goal for every believer in Christ is to attain the full measure of sonship in Christ Jesus. Even though we have received the spirit of adoption and we are sons, we start out as children. There are processes and procedures God uses in transiting us to sons. One of the ways the Holy Spirit trains us to become sons is through persecution. Generals are not trained in the palace but in the battle field. Strong faith and strong character are grown through trials.

The Wilderness launched Jesus into a terrific ministry while the cross made Him to become King of kings. In way of the Spirit, God uses two instruments – the spiritual authority over you and the wilderness.

Moses spent 40 years, David spent 13 years, Joseph 13 years, Jacob spent 20 years etc. Jesus spent just 40 days because He yielded to mentorship for 18 years. Jesus first submitted to His parents – Luke 2:51-52. Jesus would have spent longer time in the wilderness school of the spirit if He had missed it in mentorship. When the Lord brings you out of Egypt, He will take you through the wilderness to bring you into the promised land. The way of Spirit is a statute to mature sons. This is how the Holy Spirit works out the DNA and the character of God in a believer. It is refining that produces virtue. There is restorative and redemptive value in suffering.

Thank God for the mentors He has placed you under and begin to yield to the dealings of the Holy Spirit through them. Are you in the wilderness phase of your life? Don’t buy the lie of the devil that He does not love you and that’s why you are suffering. Accept the dealings of God, Trust Him to work out that which is best for you. The wilderness does not cancel the promise land. It’s only on your way and God did not plan for you to die on the way. You will arrive your destination in Jesus Name.

*Lord help me to recognize the men you have placed over my life and the processes you are intentionally passing me through to help me cultivate your virtues. Help me to respond appropriately and give me the grace to follow through with your training and dealings. Amen*

Bible in one year: Psalms 60-62

*THE GIFT OF WORD OF KNOWLEDGE*

*For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 1 Corth 12v8*

Take note; this gift is called "the word of knowledge”. It is not "the gift of knowledge." There is no such thing as a spiritual gift of knowledge. The word of knowledge is the supernatural revelation by the Holy Ghost of certain facts in the mind of God. God is all-knowing. He knows everything. But He doesn't reveal everything He knows to man. He just gives him a word or a part of what He knows. It is a tiny portion of God’s knowledge supernaturally imparted by the Holy Spirit on an individual. God reveals to the individual something that now exists or did exist. In other words the gift of word of knowledge reveals events in the past or present.

Like word of wisdom, the gift of word of knowledge does not come by natural reasoning, education or training but directly by the Holy Spirit. An example of this gift in operation is found in Acts chapter 9. "And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision . . ." (Acts 9:10).
Here the word of knowledge came to a man through a vision. Ananias wasn't an apostle, as was John. He wasn't a pastor or evangelist or teacher. The Bible calls him a disciple. He was just a member of the church at Damascus. Laymen as well as ministers can have a manifestation of the word of knowledge or any of the gifts of the Spirit.

Acts 9:11-12 "arise, and go into the street which is called straight, and enquire in the house of judas for one called saul of tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, And hath seen in a vision [Saul also had a like vision] a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. In a vision the Lord told Ananias what to do. Ananias couldn't have known in the natural that in a certain house on a certain street a man named Saul was praying at that minute. Ananias couldn't have known that Saul had had a vision in which he had seen a man called Ananias coming in and putting his hands on him that he might receive his sight. Ananias couldn't have known this any other way than by supernatural revelation. He knew it by the word of knowledge. God knew about everyone who was praying everywhere at that time, but He didn't give Ananias knowledge of everyone who was praying; He just gave Ananias knowledge about one man who was praying — Saul of Tarsus. That was a supernatural revelation of a certain fact in the mind of God. It was the word of knowledge which came to Ananias in a vision.

*PRAYERS:*
*Dear precious Lord baptize me with the gift of word knowledge to enable me have access to the mind of the father and implement that supernatural knowledge on earth. A lot of people are in need Lord; in need of healing, deliverance etc., unlock the operation of this gift to help me diagnose these conditions on earth and bring solutions to the needy that your holy name will be glorified on earth. Amen.*

*THE GIFT OF WORD OF WISDOM*

*But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 1Corth. 12v7-8*

The scripture above is not talking about natural wisdom. It is talking about just what it says — the word of wisdom. This gift of the word of wisdom is given supernaturally. It is not a natural gift.

God has all wisdom. He knows everything, but He never reveals to anyone everything He knows. He just gives various people a word, a part, or a fragment of what He knows. A word of wisdom, for example, is just a fragmentary part of God's wisdom. It is not the gift of wisdom; it is the word of wisdom. God has all wisdom. But He only reveals a part of it to man — that which He wants him to know at a given time.

The Word of Wisdom Is Not Wisdom in the Affairs of Life. The word of wisdom is confused many times with simple wisdom in the affairs of life, but simple wisdom in the affairs of life is not a spiritual gift. For example James said that if any lack wisdom, let him ask God for it (James 1:5). So we see that this general wisdom to deal wisely in the affairs of life will be given to anyone who asks for it. The wisdom that James is talking about is the wisdom to deal wisely in the affairs of life and the wisdom to know how to conduct yourself as a Christian. However, when God sees fit to reveal His own mind and purpose and plan to man in a supernatural way, He does so by this supernatural manifestation of the word of wisdom.

The supernatural manifestation of the gift of the word of wisdom is not given to everyone. Paul said in First Corinthians 12:8, "To one is given the word of wisdom." This verse says the manifestation of the word of wisdom is given to one; not to all, stating that spiritual gifts are divided severally as the Spirit wills. This infers that not everyone is going to have these manifestations. The word of wisdom is a revelation concerning the plans and the purposes in the mind of God. The word of wisdom speaks of the future.

Now let's look at some examples of how the gift of the word of wisdom was manifested in the Old Testament. This gift of the word of wisdom was also used to warn people concerning future judgment or peril. Noah received a word of wisdom, for example, concerning peril and future judgment on the world through a flood, and he built the ark to save his household (Gen. 6:13-18).If Noah could have gotten any of the other people to believe him, they could have been saved too. We can also see examples of the word of wisdom in operation in the New Testament. In the Book of Acts, we read that Agabus had prophesied and foretold that a drought and famine was coming (Acts 11:28). The people believed him because he was a man of integrity and had a proven ministry.

*PRAYERS:*
*Lord today I desire to function in the gift of the word of wisdom to be able to know and reveal your plans and purposes to my generation. Therefore I yield myself to you please fill me with your Spirit to begin to function in that capacity. I receive the gift of the word of wisdom this day in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.*
