On 23rd April 2025, in a village in Imo State, Nigeria, there was a girl whose parents had died, leaving her as the only surviving child of the family. She was living alone in her father's house until that fateful day, according to sources and her story. Her father's uncle came to her one night and accused her of loitering with different men. The girl told him that since her parents' death two years ago, no man from outside had entered the house apart from people in the compound. Before the girl could finish, he slapped her, and she started crying. Two days later, the girl's uncle came again and said the nearby farmland was a no-go area, meaning she should not go there or do anything, either to harvest or to farm. He threatened to deal with her if she complained to anyone in the community. Out of fear, she decided to leave the house for her maternal home, where she was with the old woman who had also lost her three children and was now living in abject poverty. The girl could not continue her education until our attention was drawn to her case in March 2026. She is presently in our custody, and our organisation is making sure she has nothing to worry about. 🌟💫🎉😊👍
