LETTER TO YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS ON VALENTINE’S DAY

From the Office of the Chaplain

Dear Young Anglican Crusaders (YAC),

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

On this special day often associated with love, I write to remind you that true love did not begin with flowers, gifts, or social media posts. True love began at the Cross. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” (John 3:16).

Love is first a sacrifice before it becomes a celebration.

As members of the Young Anglican Crusaders, you are called to represent a higher standard of love, a love that is pure, disciplined, respectful, and Christ-centered. The world may define love by emotions and pleasure, but Christ defines love by commitment, responsibility, and holiness.

Today, I urge you:

1. Guard Your Heart; Not every affection is divine direction. Pray before you proceed in any relationship.

2. Value Purity; Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Protect your dignity.

3. Choose Purpose Over Pressure; Do not enter relationships because of trends or peer influence.

4. Love Beyond Romance; Show love to God, your parents, your church, and humanity.

5. Build Yourself First; Become the right person before seeking the right person.

Remember, you are Crusaders: soldiers of Christ, ambassadors of the Anglican faith, and examples to your generation. Let your love reflect Christ. Let your character preach louder than your words.

May this season remind you that the greatest love story is not between a boy and a girl, but between Christ and His Church.

I pray that God will guide your decisions, guard your steps, and grant you wisdom in all your relationships.

Remain steadfast.
Remain holy.
Remain focused.
